why has he drafted bad so far? I know its the funny narrative and everyone is sheep and parrots what others are saying? But what has he done so far that is wrong?
@Mark Lott Sam Darnold has proven nothing to me, neither have any of the other QB's from last years draft. After having Eli for 15 seasons not getting hurt, meanwhile Darnold already missing games his rookie season, but yeah the giants made a mistake...... sigh. Your point about passing on a QB this year and getting one next year, I can agree with that. If you dont think ownership made the call on the future starting QB though, I think your giving Gettleman too much power then he actually has. I'm talking about his actual drafting of players, which I thought last years class was pretty good in my opinion. Its just not cool to say, because.. "her her, Gettleman". I get that he brings a lot of it onto himself with the way he talks, but people are overreacting, his eye for talent is actually pretty good.
So even as a bears fan that Aaron Rodgers comment is moronic. The reason why Rodgers doesn't have as many 4th quarter comebacks is because they were ahead most if the time. The bears with Cutler played the safe try to be within a touchdown going into three 4th rely on three defense to get a turnover and win late. Look at the win percentage it's a much more telling stat
Early in his career, Rodgers was admittedly not great when down in the 4th Quarter. It wasn't until the fake spike in Miami that he started doing this to teams consistently. But your point is still correct; The team won a lot because for a year and a half the D was just good enough to not need him to do that, coupled with years of the Packers offense putting up points. 12/13 Picks on defense also means nothing if those picks don't pan out. and it's funny he decides to cut out the information he is feeding us before the 2015 draft, because then he'd have to mention how not a single player from that draft is still on the team.
With a success rate of .269% he ranks 54th out of 84 quarterbacks who have had at least 20 4th quarter comeback attempts. He literally has a worse percentage than Mark Sanchez (.296%)
Why? Had a stellar draft last year and we just got 2 starting defensive players along with a potential franchise quarterback. Take a deep breath if you're a Giants fan, and stop taking the words of these "professionals" as gospel.

There is no data, no metrics no film that shows D.Jones is worth the 6th pick in the draft. Compare his data to the rest if the QBs in the draft. He is average or below in every category. Maybe he will develop into a solid starter, but there is nothing suggesting he will. He lacks any outstanding trait, expect he had a real good coach.
meinking22 I honestly only saw a couple giants games last years, but what i saw from Barkley reminded me of Adrian Peterson in his first years, when the Vikings had a really bad schemes and play calling(brad Childress) They just leaned on a.p., opposing teams would play 8 or 9 guys “in the box” on 1st&2nd and 7 or 8 on 3rd, and he still had success. but his greatness sort of masked a lot of flaws, and probably caused the Vikings to keep some bad players and bad coaches.

4th quarter comebacks is stupid because your defense has to make a stop to make a comeback and GB’s defense has been historically bad throughout Rodgers career
People (mostly Brady nut suckers) don't understand the simple concept of defense lol. In order to make a comeback, the defense needs to keep the other team out of the end zone. SB51 is a prime example.

True North Angling Rodgers is an overrated selfish diva. He will never win another championship, and the packers have no money to spend because of his contract.
If he's not elite, he's a bust. Top 12 or a bust. 4200+ yards or he's a bust. I personally thought he was going to go in the third round, he had a great college year, but Haskins set records. Not looking in the favor of Jones...
Remember when the Chiefs moved up for Mahomes and everybody was shitting on the Chiefs organization for a “questionable pick.” I do. Let the guy play for a season and then decide jeez.
Tracy Morgan's Belly Colin is wrong about some things, but people need to stop acting like he’s an idiot. The man’s been doing this for a decade, he knows what he’s talking about.
Colin owes Dave Gettleman a sincere public apology. When you use a national media platform to take such a wildly negative, definitive shot at another man's job performance (and therefore his livelihood), and when the QB pick you crushed him for taking has one of the greatest first starts in the history of the NFL, you need to have enough professional integrity to admit you were wrong and give him credit for seeing something in the tapes that you (and almost every other scout on the planet) missed.
It doesn't matter if all the defensive picks were high picks if the players aren't any good. He's acting like the Packers picked stud after stud in the first round on defense. The excuses end for Rodgers when the Packers have a consistently good defense with coaching that's at least above average.
You know how the Packers could get better players? Dont sign the second biggest contract in NFL history and play it as a team game not a Aaron Rodgers game.
@@Hoosier3091 Can't use facts online. Let alone use facts on TH-cam and a Herd channel no less. It doesn't matter that GB drafted poorly and never signed free agents worth their price. It's Aaron Rodgers fault for taking 20-30 million a year instead of 15 as Tom Brady does with a wife that is worth half a billion dollars.
Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round which means no one including the Patriots truly believed he was the next franchise starter, much more a multiple Superbowl winning QB or else they would've drafted him in the 1st. How many 1st round super hyped QB's have busted since then? Too many to count now. No one really knows who will be the next great one, including you Colin.
I honestly think about it differently knowing Peyton gave consent. Bet Peyton saw this kid on the board drawing plays and KNEW his game would translate
hezo melo Peyton’s not a gm tho and also doesn’t have the team first in mind. He likes the kid personally. Also I haven’t heard Peyton gave consent. I heard ELI gave consent. Which is a big red flag. Cuz Eli doesn’t wanna be pushed out so of course he hypes up the kid he knows and isn’t good enough to threaten him for his job first day in. Eli plays a couple bad games with HASKINS on the bench and the whole stadium will be revolting asking to put in their #6 pick
Dave Gettleman said he may not start for 3 years. That should make you think. So he isn't nowhere near ready. If he was even a decent player they would start him. It's a mess cause you can't sit a high pick like that in today's NFL. Kansas City was able to do it cause they had a winning record and where reaching the playoffs with Alex Smith playing great, which is the complete opposite of New York. You can't sit your rookie 1st round pick if your team is losing like the giants.
well having a good qb (and darnold will be good, don't doubt him for a second) translates to more wins than having a stellar rb so i guess u prefer flash over wins
All these “giants” fans talking down the pick are a joke. Do they remember Phil Simms? What school he came from? His stats in that school? Oh and Simms was picked by the giants on the 1st round at #7. How did Simms do with big blue?
I myself blame john mara, I may be wrong but I think ownership is so comfortable with the mannings that they wanted his clone. They didn't want anyone who didn't act, talk, or anything else other than a manning. It's not all a bad thing, eli does try to stay out of the press, etc. But they need someone else at qb
He’s knocking on Rodgers for low 4th quarter come-backs when only 3 veteran QBs have a better W:L ratio (Brady, Roethlisberger and Wilson). It’s hard to have a 4th quarter come back when you’re already winning. 😂
When I first saw the video I agreed with you, but I looked up the stats and they don't tell the same story. His success rate for 4th quarter comebacks is very low among "elite" QBs, with 40+ chances he's only come back 12 times. Ryan Tannehill actually has less comeback opportunities but more comebacks.
I saw that when I was looking up the stats, too (there’s a big table listing come backs and come back opportunities on google, and if anything that ratio is what Cowherd should have used to make this asinine argument)... but Tannehill isn’t even over 0.500 W/L for career. The goal is to win often; not occasionally win but do so in dramatic fashion with a last quarter drive.
Carrick CuckFG yeah I agree with you. Obviously people would take Rodgers over tannehill any day of the week. But I guess if you want to argue that Rodgers isn’t as clutch as some of the other greats, Colin would have a point there
I love how they didn’t include Russell Wilson in the 4th quarter comeback number because they’d see he’s such an outlier it’s not even close with these guys lmfao
You thought trubisky was going to be a bust ...is he great no...field goal miss away from advancing tho. Maybe you're not the football expert you think you are.
Spending high draft picks on defense doesn’t mean that we have a good defense now. Other than Jaire Alexander, not a single player that he showed from the last 3 drafts has been consistently good on defense.
How's it look now, Nostradamus? Brady does not have a gun for an arm but he got brains and a chip on his shoulder. Same with Jones. So tired of the Darnold and USC bias, bruh!
Good observation Colin. Did you forget how bad the 2017 class turned out to be? King is constantly injured, Jones can’t cover, Adams has yet to play and Biegel is no longer on the team. You can draft as many as defensive players as you want but doesn’t mean they’re good.
MRJ2012 Tom Brady’s always ahead, and he has way more 4th quarter comebacks than Rodgers. And how is this an excuse for having less fourth quarter comebacks than Jay Cutler and Ryan Tanehill
Yeah no Rodgers doesn’t win enough to make that claim. He’d need to be right around Brady (who is like top 5 in comebacks) in terms of win % to make that claim
I like Colin's take on the Giants' past 2 drafts. They have wasted so many resources and opportunities (trading OBJ for Lawrence/Peppers/Ximines, letting Landon walk, trading Snacks, passing on Darnold, etc.) that it is revolting. That said, clearly, they are trying to restore the old school culture and football and they love Jones for his toughness. It is hard to see how they can win with this defense unless they pick up a lot of help off others' roster cuts. They probably figure 7-9 this year with Eli send-off game 10 or so, then buy tons of help for defense and rock in 2020 with Saquan leading the offense.
What does drafting defense have to do with how good the defense is? Just because you’re bringing in good guys doesn’t mean they’re putting up good numbers..
I didn't understand this pick. I'm not a Giants fan but why they would pick Jones instead of Haskins boggles my mind. Haskins had about as many TD passes last season alone as Jones had in his 3 years at Duke COMBINED.
"in like bad weather... Under .500" this argument makes no sense. How would you know if Jones is bad in foul weather, why and how do you know lol! Because he physically matches up with Matt Ryan please use your brains. 🐈
Wait, people have been saying that Aaron Rodgers isn't succeeding because of their defense?! Like, it helps to have a good defense, but it helps much more to have talented receivers and O-line. Has the defense really been people's excuse?
What are your thoughts on the Giants selecting Daniel Jones?

True North Angling Rodgers is an overrated selfish diva. He will never win another championship, and the packers have no money to spend because of his contract.
Their O Line has consistently been awesome. And they’ve generally had at least competent receivers if not really good
If he's not elite, he's a bust. Top 12 or a bust. 4200+ yards or he's a bust. I personally thought he was going to go in the third round, he had a great college year, but Haskins set records. Not looking in the favor of Jones...
A great college career?! Wtf!?
@@fnvn1209 a great YEAR for a DUKE QB
bigguccijohn then again Ohio state qbs haven’t been translating into the nfl maybe Haskins can be different
Why 4200 ? Why not 4199 ?
Remember when the Chiefs moved up for Mahomes and everybody was shitting on the Chiefs organization for a “questionable pick.” I do. Let the guy play for a season and then decide jeez.
Collin just said "Come on, brugh." LOL.
Colin doesnt like him? He'll be a HOF'er now...
Just like Tebow is HOFer too huh
James Jackson and Johnny Manziel
In Cowherd's bizarre world Andrew luck is a good quarterback and Aaron Rodgers is a bad quarterback
@@vicepresidentmikepence889 you actually think Luck is bad? And nobody including Colin thinks Rodgers is bad
Tracy Morgan's Belly
Colin is wrong about some things, but people need to stop acting like he’s an idiot. The man’s been doing this for a decade, he knows what he’s talking about.
Just because a team drafts defensive players does not mean they play well. Cmon colin be better.
Defensive line give them two super bowls
Aaron Rodgers has no excuses if these picks turns out to something. If they are all busts then this argument doesn't work.
doesn't matter about your picks, what matters is if your defense is top 10
@@scoop2448 why does he need a top 10 defense? Hes not good enough to carry a 13th ranked defense? 12th? 15th?
@@davidvironet6344 vast majority of SB winners have top 10 defense. they don't have to be but then the defense has to play well in playoffs.
He wasnt wrong
It doesn't matter if all the defensive picks were high picks if the players aren't any good. He's acting like the Packers picked stud after stud in the first round on defense. The excuses end for Rodgers when the Packers have a consistently good defense with coaching that's at least above average.
You know how the Packers could get better players? Dont sign the second biggest contract in NFL history and play it as a team game not a Aaron Rodgers game.
@@jacksond4164 they drafted bad defensive players before Rodgers got that contract
Colin "cmon bruh" Cowherd
As the old saying goes "It's not WHAT you know, but WHO you know"
Tom Brady was drafted in the 6th round which means no one including the Patriots truly believed he was the next franchise starter, much more a multiple Superbowl winning QB or else they would've drafted him in the 1st. How many 1st round super hyped QB's have busted since then? Too many to count now. No one really knows who will be the next great one, including you Colin.
Brady in college still better in a better conference at a tougher time to be qb. And Brady had crazy chip on his shoulder with the hoodie as his coach
Sorry but... Brady is a "6TH ROUNDER", this Daniel Jones kid was drafted "#6"
AN INDEFINITE DIFFERENCE
Oh, joy 😌
Did you see the dudes numbers in college? Idc if peyton saw him draw plays if you cant execute those plays it's all for nothing
I would rather have Saquon Barkley over Sam Darnold
well having a good qb (and darnold will be good, don't doubt him for a second) translates to more wins than having a stellar rb so i guess u prefer flash over wins
Cold, Wet, Windy, The Hudson, Windy, Cold, Rainy, Wet, Winterrr….
"He could sit for years" made me screech
"When the Surf's up Bruh" hahahahahaha
Just because you draft a lot of defensive players, doesn’t mean you are going to have a good defense
Excatly
Yeah. They drafted a literal Coke machine one year. It's okay though, he may be slow but he has a high motor and a good locker room presence.
Just because you draft defense doesn't make your defense Good Genius
Richard Simmons: "Come on, Giants -- Reach! Reach!"
Always looking for a reason to pick on Rodgers
Always lookin for Arods nuts! Let'em hate on the pack! Green N' Gold never fold!!!
What a great pick, Daniel Jones will help the cowboys win NFC east titles, thank you giants
*Eagles
How does look now?
But I guess if you want to argue that Rodgers isn’t as clutch as some of the other greats, Colin would have a point there
So Jay Cutler is 50% better than AARon in clutchness?
Gentleman is all over the place
It’s hard to have a comeback win when you’re always ahead and winning 😂
I love how they didn’t include Russell Wilson in the 4th quarter comeback number because they’d see he’s such an outlier it’s not even close with these guys lmfao
Yep stats can always be manipulated to fit almost any narrative
And North Carolina is cold wet and windy lol they get more rain then we do lol
This aged well
it absolutely did
You thought trubisky was going to be a bust ...is he great no...field goal miss away from advancing tho. Maybe you're not the football expert you think you are.
Only thing is GB's defense has been objectively not good, despite the investment. Which speaks to coaches and personnel decisions.
Spending high draft picks on defense doesn’t mean that we have a good defense now. Other than Jaire Alexander, not a single player that he showed from the last 3 drafts has been consistently good on defense.
You really just said you don't want 3 first round picks, you want 3 2nd round picks 😂😂😂
How's it look now, Nostradamus? Brady does not have a gun for an arm but he got brains and a chip on his shoulder. Same with Jones. So tired of the Darnold and USC bias, bruh!
You know who else has a Manning connection? Denver at 10. Jones wouldn't have lasted past 10.
Good observation Colin. Did you forget how bad the 2017 class turned out to be? King is constantly injured, Jones can’t cover, Adams has yet to play and Biegel is no longer on the team. You can draft as many as defensive players as you want but doesn’t mean they’re good.
Mid season, the Giants are going to try to trade for one of Philly's 3 QBs. All 3 are 6'5" with strong arms.
Lol
You cant come from behind when your leading most of the time.
Then why does Tom Brady have the second highest 4th quarter come backs of all time, but is the most winningest player of all time.
@@basketballaddict2885 what does that have to do with not having comebacks when you're ahead
This pick means more years of eli...that's why peyton said they should pick jones...
And yet he’s out performed Haskins and every other rookie so far. 😂😂😂
Corners are extremely valuable
Giants traded a 2nd, 4th and 5th for a 1st. I don't know where Cowherd gets his info from but please do research before spreading misinformation.
Why have 3 first round picks when you can have 4 3rd round picks! Sound logic right there.
The way he says 'great defenses' 😂
"C'mon Bruh" 😂😂🤣🤣
"in like bad weather... Under .500" this argument makes no sense. How would you know if Jones is bad in foul weather, why and how do you know lol! Because he physically matches up with Matt Ryan please use your brains. 🐈
All I’m gonna say is remember when everyone thought kristaps porzingis was a bad pick?
Wait, people have been saying that Aaron Rodgers isn't succeeding because of their defense?! Like, it helps to have a good defense, but it helps much more to have talented receivers and O-line. Has the defense really been people's excuse?
“Cmon bruh” talk to em colin!! 😂
