    Sounds like you reached a point in life that you accept that perfection just doesn’t exist and that people around you see your smile and confidence long before they see the details 😊 good for you girl 💪🏻

    When I got my second nostril done, my first reaction when I saw myself in the mirror was to be horribly disappointed because they looked crooked. I never thought of my nose as uneven until that moment, and I spent the next day or two obsessively staring and measuring and trying to figure out what I should do about it. In the end I decided to leave them ("at least until the swelling's all gone") and now I adore them. ❤️ I guess when I look closely I can see they're not exactly the same? But I just don't really think about it anymore.

      @MsRedShepherd just got my second one done and it looks absolutely even straight on but from the top view it is much lower than the other side. I've been contemplating for 4 days what to do. Currently "letting the swelling go down" to see if I notice a change in a few weeks.. even if I don't idk if I wanna go through getting it repierced again 😭 my piercer did tell me that my nose isn't symmetrical, didn't realize until I got home, the whole thing turns left 😅

    I too wish I had this video years ago. I never had my nostrils/high nostrils redone and I’m actually really glad I didn’t. The direction I thought it needed to be redone would have actually been worse, now that I can see my body for how it is and not how I wish it were. Thanks for these great videos!

    This is great to hear, thank you for making a video like this. Honestly when I got a second nostril to match the healed one on the other side, I picked it apart at first because there were very slight discrepancies when I looked from different angles. Luckily I was able to realize it was because my nostrils were shaped slightly differently on either side, and my piercer was pretty skilled to be able to get it as close to even as possible. This will be good to keep in mind because I also want paired high nostrils to match!

    • @sageshamsey
      @sageshamsey ปีที่แล้ว +1

      An update to this comment- it's been quite a few months since i've gotten my high nostrils and this video actually prepared me for it! I also have an uneven nose... and my piercer decided that even spacing was the better option than even height. They turned out really great!

  • @thebabythesavage
    @thebabythesavage ปีที่แล้ว +4

    I couldn’t afford to get my nostrils at the same time and the placement on the second just did not seem straight to me at first. I told my piercer that I was considering letting it close and having it done again and he was like ?? They /are/ even??
    I was like well, he knows what he’s talking about so I’ll let it ride… Years later, they’ve healed beautifully and they DO look straight and even. When I wear a nostril chain, it sits exactly as it should. He was totally right. I just needed to stop looking at it with my nose a few inches from the mirror. :)
    I was also really heartbroken when I found that my vertical labret had migrated a little bit after it recovered from extreme swelling, but it looks perfect to literally everyone else. Like yeah, your opinion of yourself is the most important in terms of impact on your life, but sometimes it’s okay to let other people’s nice thoughts about you be louder than your mean ones ❤
    Also I appreciate the piercings you’ve done that are unique to individual anatomy so much!! It’s been nice to find a way to not just accept but love my own imperfections. I’m planning on a helix piercing to highlight the Darwin’s point on one of my ears- it’s not as prominent on the other and it’s going to look so cool 🥰

    That inverted filter trend should show us that no-one is symmetrical! And nobody notices unless you point it out. My mouth is a solid 20 degrees from horizontal but it only looks that way on passport photos

  • @eclecticallychargedwitch5121

    I'm definitely like you in this sense. I recently got two vertical labret piercings side by side and I can tell that one is a little lower and less deep. But literally no one else can notice unless I point it out to them. I wish it didn't bother me as much as it does. But I know if I go and get it re done it wouldn't be any better than it is. One side of my bottom lip is just thicker than the other and sits different. The piercer himself did a fantastic job.

    i have had my left high nostril re done 3 times, 1st time because the piercer didn’t like how it sat, 2nd because it was still extremely asymmetrical, and 3rd to fix the angle and hopefully even them out. they are still uneven, my face is asymmetrical and, it upset me to the point where i didn’t want people to look at me. i’m coming to terms with them now, and hope to be as okay with them as you are one day. i needed this video so badly back then

    Funny you mentioned eyebrows, my eyebrows are so naturally uneven it looked like I had one brow raised all the time before I got them microbladed.
    Also I did not even notice your nostril piercings were uneven and I consider myself a pretty observant and analytical person.
    My stretched ears are uneven, and I’ve just come to terms with it. The only thing that it effects is how much I can stretch them because one is thinner than the other. I have never gotten a symmetrical piercings, I feel like I’ll be that client who notices the asymmetry. I do want paired nostrils eventually, but it will be my first paired piercing! So far I’ve gone out of my way to stay very asymmetric. I enjoy that chaos.

    I don’t have nostril piercings but I have a deviated septum which I got pierced and a vertical philtrum piercing. Since my septum is deviated the lowest point of any septum jewelry doesn’t line up with my philtrum piercing it drives me a little crazy but most people don’t notice and this video really helped me feel like it was okay for my piercing to look uneven because my face is uneven. Thank you for all your amazing videos :)

    Thank you so much for the video. Anyway, I had my high nostrils done two days ago and pointed out to the piercer right away, that one one them is to high. We made the deal, to wait a week, take the one out, and repierce it after another week. My Nose tends to point in one direction and I have no problem with them in different distance to the center, because I know it's because of the nose shape. But I want them in the same high and hope so much that I will be satisfied in two weeks.

    Hello, I just want to thank you for this video, I really needed it right now. I really struggle with needing symmetry with my peircings. My first lobes are okay, my second lobes stand out and bother me. I'm thinking of having one side re-done to better match the other. I can't wear hoops in the 2nd lobes because you can definitely see it, but it's still kinda noticeable with studs, at least to me. And I JUST got 4th lobe/low helix, so the spacing and unevenness with my 2nd lobes are more noticeable 😅.
    I am also wanting to get my septum and the other side of my nostril done. Because it's front and center on my face, I have been stressing a lot about making sure they're perfect and even when I do go to get them done.
    This video helped me a little to remember that our faces are symmetrical and if things are a little off it can be okay, to take a moment to breath. My new 4th lobes aren't perfect but they are close and he explained one ear sticks out more etc.
    So I think I'll go in and talk to someone about my 2nd lobes before just deciding/ doing it.
    As for my nose... I honestly can't say. It's easy for me to say I'll be okay but, it's not pierced yet so idk for sure how I'll react/ feel. I'm currently trying to decide if I'm going to get it done by this weekend, or wait till after summer and swimming.

    Oh man I feel this. I had sooo much trouble with my piercing when my piercer was placing the mark to match the double nostril on my other side (I had two on one side, and the other side I had one) and I’ve pierced it so many times because it felt uneven. And my piercer explained that to me that not everyone’s face is symmetrical. And that’s okay :)

    I'm going back to "fix" some paired labrets and I really needed to hear this. I was so back and forth in my mind wondering how bad it was, how noticeable the difference was an NO ONE saw what I did. I still want to give it one more shot, take the time with my piercer to line everything up and not feel regret about my lips or nostrils or teeth or whatever not lining up perfectly.

    Thank you so much for this! I was getting self conscious about my nostrils seeming uneven with my high nostrils. I typically wear hoops in the lower ones because if I wear studs that are too big, the spacing difference is obvious. They look even as pairs but not really as a group. I don’t think it’s noticeable just looking at me but if I think too much I’ll see it.

  • @xWillawisp

    Mine aren't even, and I don't care. Our bodies arent perfect. All of our anatomy is uneven. Piercers can only do their best to create the illusion that they're somewhat even. I notice it. But does it matter? Naw. If people point it out I can point out their piercings aren't perfectly even either 😆 unless someone's got plastic surgery for perfection, which I find looks really weird, then we are all uneven!

Have you tried any different styles of jewelry?

    • @Lynn_Loheide
      @Lynn_Loheide  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Honestly this can be the case with a LOT of septums. Sometimes they are just incorrectly pierced. But sometimes we just have an asymmetric nose! For example my septum looks perfect from the front but from below it’s definitely not perfectly even. However I have a deviated nose and two totally different nostril shapes. If my nostrils are drastically different shapes and heights of course my piercing isn’t going to sit perfectly even. I don’t have a perfectly even nose to allow for that!
      With septums if they look great from the front and only are a bit off from below- that’s honestly fine. Especially if your anatomy is deviated. What’s important is that the piercing looks good from the angle people are going to see it at. And very few people besides you and your piercer are going to look up your nose at your septum to pick apart the angles haha.
