Josh literally picking up the OCG version of the deck for pennies so he can showcase these cards that we will be spending hundreds of dollars for when they release in the TCG.
The Ryzeal spice is toy box btw :) Pyro starter plus a toy monster gets you to detonator, duo drive, rafflesia and both spells. Rafflesia then is an interruption and sends plasma hole (for cost) which can then make UDF with the 3 XYZ. A detached detonator can then be revived with plug-in for a total of 5 detonator activations. Opening toy box gets you a 4th rank 4, since toy soldier then searches any light 4 (usually a pyro starter, but can also be e.g. astraltopia for an Omni). This probably isn't as good as pure but it can be pretty fun :)
@@HorusOrigin ideally by SS Ice Ryzeal, then you soldier revives in gy and you can search another Ice to NS. This gives you a free rank 4. But if you just have the toys w/o box you usually send them with node. They're mostly neat bc they are both a send and an extender.
Any Rizeal starter except for Sword alredy can end in Raflessia + the two Rizeal XYZ + the field (with sword without a extender you need to choose between 2 xyz + field or the 3 xyz without the field).
If you play this deck, I recommend adding in the Toy Box cards as an engine. It turns Ice Ryzeal's built-in summon and Node Ryzeal's cost (send a card from field or hand, primarily focusing on the field part) into free extension, free cost, and free bodies. Especially with the synergy of Toy Soldier being able to search any LIGHT Level 4, which Ryzeal has. And that Toy Box can destroy an attacking monster that the opponent didn't read closely on hehe (Golden Castle skill issue lol). Also, since the Toy Box engine can get free bodies and that Ryzeal have a Normal Trap that has "Hole" in its name, you can make Traptrix Rafflesia to protect from Nib or any other handtrap if needed if you also play Gravedigger's Trap Hole. Then, on your opponent's turn, you can use Ryzeal Plasma Hole with Rafflesia and not needing to search it or attach it. And there's also Starliege Photon Blast Dragon to protect from targeting effects which can also be boosted by Duo Driver to protect itself also
this is nice.. a consise, very informative, not convoluted guide should do this for every relevant deck in the current/next format keep up the good work sir
The way powercreep works, every good deck from now on has to be made of all cards that are both starters and extenders, and have space for at least 20 hand traps.
Josh this is Centurion, if Atrii/Gargoyle/Bonds/Wake were also pseudo-1cc or at the very least really good extenders. The fact both decks come from deck build packs, meaning 3 waves of support if the current trend is followed can be frightening (even excluding the random Barian synergy with Seventh Tachyon) A key interaction I love is to use Aggregator to detach itself for the "cost" of the field spell, then negate my own field spell to allow me a 2nd Detonator that will get at the very least 3 more pops. But by far my favorite play is to utilize Exciton Knight since Ryzeal doesn't have that big of a board presence, then using Exciton for Fiendsmith plays. From my testing while the deck is solid it still needs something more and the fiendsmith engine allows 20 non-engine being compact itself, while solving the issue of OTKing that can be quite annoying sometimes.
Could you cover Blue-Eyes Primite as well? I'm honestly super fascinated by how well it's doing in the OCG and it would be fun to do a bit of a deep dive on how it works since it looks like it'll be relevant once it comes out for us
Outside of more consistency I like the fact that it is a more linear deck. My arsenal has combo decks that branch out all over. I'm game running something like this. And no, not for pre-sale prices. I'm not in a rush like that.
Is it? Bonfire is really par for the course when it comes to Yugioh cards. Beast-Warriors and Dinos have cards even better than Bonfire and neither of those cards see play at the moment.
@Liliana_the_ghost_cat In the past calendar year the Pyro type has has gained 18 lvl4 or lower monsters. Each of these cards either belongs to a newly released archetype or is designed to be playable in other existing strategies. Examples: Ashened, Centurion Trueda and Chimerea, Ash/Poplar/Oak/Birch, the two Ryzeals, T.G. Rocket Salamander, Agnimal Candle, the two Volcanics, Nemesis Flag, and Laval Archer. Bonfire is extremely pushed.
@@thorscape3879 Bonfire itself isn't pushed. The pyro type has been pushed. Bonfire is not special at all in a vaccum. You identified something that is true but you misunderstood what the root cause is.
For consistency, the deck can play Seventh Tachyon although it's a -1. If you play Seventh Tachyon, Seventh Ascension is also an option to include although not sure it's necessary. That card may see play because Bonfire is limited in OCG.
The cost of sending from hand/field on half of their extenders has me thinking that playing with Performages for more gas will be great, for those who won't enjoy pouring in handtraps and other such nonengine to fill space. From my position of playing against it, it also looks like a good time to keep siding 5 steal spells and maining 3 talents to just take Detonator and use it against them.
Not only does Ryzeal have more competition for the time being, but they also are missing a lot of really powerful cards they have in the OCG that we won't have for a few months
Small question: Why keep Ext over Node on the board? I know Ext has more DEF, but Node has an actual effect if they don't kill it or if you don't use Plasma Hole.
The real strength of this deck is dugares turn 1 being able to draw 2, be sent for node and end on the standard board. It's not uncommon to get 5 draws in a single turn with desires cross and dugares
Their main deck monsters aren't as invidually as strong as Kashtira, but yeah super linear and boring imo. You can also play like 20+ non-engine cards so you can handtrap your opponent to death.
Aha, 3 pops 2 negates a draw and normally way more interruptions is like kash/fiendsmith where you end in best case on fenrir + caesar and die to one handtrap?
There are two different phase of card being activated, the first will be "Activation" and the second will be "Resolution". This kind of negation basicly deny the possibility of the opponents "resolving" the effect for the second time, because some cards has to be activated before it cannot be used. Example would be the Runick spell. If my opponents negate the activation of my Runick Tip, I can still use another Runick Tip cause it's an "Activate", not "Used". But, negating on resolution means I activate Runick Tip, it counts toward activation, but I cant resolve it and now I cant use any more Runick Tip
It also means that the opponent cannot respond to your negate and you can use it in the middle of a chain as said chain is resolving. Think of it like applying a substitution effect like how Dingirsu prevents destruction by detaching a material at the point of resolution.
It's not after it resolves. The choice is made during the resolution of said effect. For example, every monster effect resolves under Skill Drain but still gets negated. Resolution doesn't always need to be successful.
