Mid -Autumn Festival at Gardens By The Bay

Based on the theme of blessings,this year's Mid-Autumn Festival hopes to bring tidings of good health and better days ahead to visitors through the lantern displays.The highligh is a "Sky Lanterns" set with sky lanterns "floating" up a Supertree against a scenic mountainous backdrop with animals and plants-painting a picture of longevity and prosperity.Another highlight is the "Rabbit Forest" set, featuring adorable rabbit lanterns spreading festive cheer in Flower Dome..
In Asian customs,people penned their wishes on the sky lanterns and released them into the skies,in hope of good blessings.
The highlight set features sky lanterns"floating"up the Supertrees against mountainscape backdrop with a pair of rabbits releasing a sky lantern marked with the Chinese Character ("fu"),which means prosperity.
Accompanying the pair of rabbits are the symbolic animals,the deer and cranes.The chinese term for deer("lu")is a homophone for ("lu") which means good fortune.Legends also tell of the deer guarding the sacred fungus of immortality together with the crane.The pine trees and cranes,when paired together,also symbolise good health and longevity..
