Always been and always have been the greatest band the world has ever heard, still love them after all those years and iam 53 now ,Darts were brilliant wish they would reform and bring back real music because darts were the real music back in my day and they will never be forgotten .!!!
Yeah, I'm 50 mate. as 7-8 year old I wasn't much into pop... The only exception was Darts. Whenever they were on TV it was like a treat, I loved them and still do.
Just turned 60 and this song just shakes me to the bone, absolutely stunning. Like so many have said you don’t always appreciate it at the time… I do now
As a 13/14 year old my attention always swayed towards Den Hegerty but now I realise what a fantastic group these were . The vocals/ harmonies were spot on , a great sound then and to this day . They were up against the start of the punk era and all the misery that went with it but have stood the test of time as quality always does. ❤️
My favourite song of all time. Makes the hairs go up on my arms every time I hear it. Bob Fish's vocal are to die for and the harmony in the background is wonderful. If you've never tried to sing harmony you just can't appreciate how good these guys were. So so talented.
Came on the scene at the height of punk, the Darts were and still are an explosive talent. Even a schoolmate punk fanatic I knew was really into the Darts. They played the Wolverhampton Civic Hall and blew everyone away. The Darts deserved to have been much bigger, perhaps my only regret is they didn't release more of their own material. This track is an exception which proves the talent was certainly there. And RIP Bob Fish the gent who did lead vocals and wrote this fantastic number.
I was thirteen when this song was played on Top of the Pops. Must have watched it as everyone did in them days. Now thinking of my beloved Mum who passed away in March. God bless you Mum.
They are playing the Brudenell in Leeds, 15th November 2024. They are on facebook and post gigs there. They dont play very often as they all have commitments elsewhere, took me a long time to finaly see them, but wow! it was worth the effort!@@mcmach1
The late (Robert) Bob Fish was a great vocalist; this song is an undeniable example. From the day I first heard it in 1978, It remained an absolute favorite.
Grew up on the sound of darts, member of their fan club, and so fortunate to have seen them live in the Den Hegarty days, and saw the reunion at the 100 club, sounds that will be appreciated forever
I adore them. Always have.. I was 9-10 yrs and my Xmas pressie was a signed album. !!! I was do v happy and excited. My dad Tim gave that to me as he knew them Love them still xx
I remember having a 'crush' on her back in 1978 when I was 13 ( while every other boy my age was in love with Debbie Harry!). Forty six years later I still say she was one of the most beautiful women in music at that time and posessed one of the greatest singing voices. 'The Boy From New York City' remains one of my favourite songs.
Oh how I love this Song! It was almost foegotten but then I came to listen to it on New Years Eve and all my memories teturned! I love Bob Fish's and Dan Heggerty's voices!!! X
Brilliant band. Great sounds.. always thought when Den Hegerty left they lost a real character. But they came back with 2/3 more generations of the band and they all sounded like Darts. 👍
They were great, brilliant singers and musicians I watched a documentary on them worked really hard touring and earning little money as many of them. Always on TOTP. 'Come back my love' was my first single I liked.
I was born in the 70s, this was a great example of some of the music I was brought up on in the early 80s, brings back memories of car journeys and days out. Miss them days.
So good to hear this tight vocal group sing, and they obviously enjoy what they do. It's all gangster rap songs these days, we could do with a Darts resurgance.
Darts were the 2nd band I ever saw at the Usher Hall in Edinburgh........... Excellent Gig! Everyone dancing in the aisles from the moment they sang the first note.
What is not to like about this fantastic song? It'll remain as fresh as the day it was recorded, forever.
And the B side Messing Shoes Blues?
My mum disapproved when I bought the single in 78!
A fantastic band and fantastic singer
Fantastic song love 😍 it 💜💜💜
Rip Bob Fish - A truly great voice. Sad loss for a fantastic, underrated band.
My favourite song , never get tired hearing his voice.xx
Stop with the underrated nonsense ffs.
They were huge at the time , get over yourself
Peter, I loved the Darts . Your comment was rather juvenile, they should have enjoyed greater success for their talent.

Close your eyes Molly and your there😊
Agreed. This is a much under-rated and these days neglected song. I've loved this song for 40 years now.
Molly Hatchet Yes, great music and musicians.
One of best bands around at the time. Saw them in concert at the Empire in Liverpool - didn't disappoint from what I can remember.
A very talented band of great singers and musicians Loved em 🙏
They don't just sing ,they put on the most amazing character of uniqueness on the planet.
Brilliant song it was kept off the number 1 spot by your the one that I want, from grease.
How lucky were we, from the 60,’s full of Soul to the 70’s full of real tunes, I was born at the right time!
Gosh we didn’t appreciate just how good they were.
True Statement 💯
This band is SERIOUSLY BRILLIANT.THE WORLD MISSES THIS BRILLIANCE BADLY.
Such a beautiful song. Beautiful voices. It’s a classic. Through generations, 2024.
Why don't they play this on the radio, instead of the same oldies again and again.
Played on greatest hits on Saturday, why I'm listening now. Great song
A very underrated band from the 70's. I loved em, still do. ❤

I believe Darts are appearing at a 70s weeekend at Butlins Bognor in September, not sure how many original members though!
Yeah, I'm 50 mate.
