So, liveaboards really are great. And, you shouldn’t rule them out just because the price tag is higher on the comparison website, because in the long run, with food and extra dives included, they can work out cheaper. Let us know your favourite liveaboard you’ve ever been on and why down in the comments so others can get some ideas of where to go next.

Undersea hunter to Cocos Island was my first liveaboard a couple of weeks ago...more experienced divers in the boat said I'm spoiled now !

I’m based out of the US and I do Blackbeard’s about 2 x a year for the past 5 or 6 years (obviously not in 2020). It’s camping (I prefer glamping) on the seas. Super economical- around $1000USD for 7d/6n, up to 19 dives, out of Nassau, Bahamas. I have been able to really work on my skills and now that I have started to dabble in UW photography, there is always something to photograph. Heading back out this September for trip #12 😊

My favourite live aboard is run by Sign Scuba in Thailand. Their live aboard is out at the Similan Islands for the entire diving season, you get to the live aboard via ninety speed boat ride. The food is awesome as is the diving and the crew are just wonderful. I've dived with them many times and never come away disappointed.

Liveaboards are great! My wife and I have been in several, in the Caribbean, Red Sea, Maldives, Australia, it's always our first choice over day boats, for all the reasons presented in the video. We've been in liveaboards where we could do as many as five dives a day (including night dives every day). I strongly recommend it!

One more thing that I experienced when doing libeaboard is that you usually more likely end up making friends than doing day boats for all those time you and the other diver spent together: diving, chatting and drinking (after the last dive of the day, of course)

My wife and I went on the Aqua Cat (related to Blackbeard's/All Star Liveaboards) 5 years ago and are going again in 2021. We are not overly seasoned divers and find the liveaboard dive experience rather spoiling. About the only time we put on shoes was when going ashore to a couple of remote islands. The Aqua Cat offers 5 dives a day, 2 deeper dives (>60ft/20m) in the morning, 2 shallower dives (

i'm going on my 3rd liveaboard in 2 weeks to soccorro out of cabo san lucas. i'm hoping the 3rd time's the charm. best advice bring seasick patches. i find that lb are expensive and not all inclusive. its not like a carribean pkg where your flight, transport, wifi and booze is included in the cost. i guess its more like a cruise. i think my biggest disappointment between a pkg and lb is that there is not a lot of entertainment.
it would be nice if they had an entertainment coordinator and you're sociable

@@davehardin3359 Do they try & not use disposable one use plastic items or low grade sulfur diesel that sort of thing. Knowing that you are trying not to pollute can only be a good thing.

Diving is less eco-friendly than bird watching
