Hi tom. Watching this again but now in chronological order. (Am into sheep so i saw this vid before) But now i remember that one Ewe that Sandi Brock lambed out this winter who had a masive single. When she went to check if the ewe had milk she for some unknown reason also checked the little stumps some of her ewes have (like 2 extra niples almost) and turns out that ewe had 4 working teets, 4 seats at the baby-buffet. So sometimes sheepmath really doesn't math at all. And if you are lucky you have a ewe that spits out 15 lambs in 4 years and at least the last 2 times had no trouble at all feeding 3 on her own. But after a month she would get enough of it and jump the fence to the next part of the field and just chill out there for an hour or 2, and then come back to her mothering duties. Funny sheep that was. Also if you want a nice mothering sheep, that had good milk, and is visually a bit different (thinking about you foing the showroom): look into Zwarte Bles sheep (Black blase- bit of a literal translation) they are black with a white mark on their face, white socks and a white tipped tail. Really nice mothers, verry prolific and more often than not pretty nice sheep.
Who does the recruitment for the farm? Whoever chose Heidi, Luke, Anna and Katie did an amazing job of picking great workers who are also great additions to TH-cam content.
Lambing videos are my favourite Tom Pem videos. Anna is a great addition to the farm, really appreciate her willingness to get involved with video side of things!
Having the banter on the farm must make your job eaiser. I’ve noticed in your videos you are a lot more relaxed when they are there. Like they give you a moments of distraction from the million and 1 things you got to do
Great job & Nice job, Anna (Aussie girl🇦🇺🦘 woop woop) catching the lambs 🐑. Tom I worry about the little lambs being so close to the road. Can they not slip out from under fence now? Wasn't the triplet Mum clever to lamb herself. They'll often get twisted up or stuck, but she didn't well & 3 girls. I follow Cammy @thesheepgame & Ben from @dalsconefarm. Can't wait to see their progress
I can never forget about lambing but back in 1990 we had an explosion of quads from our Texel tups that we had running with the flock and ended up bottle feeding around forty spare lambs you might think that was great but the ewe lambs we kept back always came running up to me 😊
I have 1 ewe with 4 working teats....The ewe is mostly Katahdin(hair sheep) with some Icelandic thrown in. That ewe only had one very large ram lamb with horns, he weighed 11 lbs at birth.
What a great fun video to start the week with. Thank you, Tom and katie. Hope everyone is doing well. Nice to see the sheep and of course the happy cows. See everyone on Friday. Be well. Be you
Hi Papa Tom and the Ladies of the farm, Anna and Katie !! Well, you know, if you've got too many lambs, Lamb chops for dinner sound good, yes ?? he he he he Hope Mama Jo is doing well.
@@Ironvalleylarry the issue is when you're dealing with a large amount the ewe can't feed them all., and you have to rear the smaller one's on the bottle. Which costs some money.
For me the two girls are keepers, not scared of the camera and seemingly a very bad influence on Tom, although I wonder if it brings the father out in him
Fun Video. Katie and Anna will achieve far more than the experts, talking heads, feminists we see on the box. Get stuck in and the job's done! Well done ladies.
We need learn more about Anna and Katie. Or have i missed a post where you speak about them? Anna, catching 3 lambs is very impressive. Could you speak more in depth about the changes you have done in the last year? Seems like you dont deliver milk anymore. Why is that? Was that part of tb? What else is different? With all the farm help you have why don't you get ducks and geese for the farm shop to butcher for the holidays? Could be quiet the money making proposition if you purposely do not raise enough for all your customers. If you make a artificial shortage and a need, then prices might increase to get more.
Anna is a superstar, two lambs in her arms running through water trying to catch a third lamb. One of the best things i have seen in a long while.
Anna and Katie fantastic addition to the vlogs! clearly new, clearly learning, clearly love it!
🎉Yeah... Great video, love cows, calves farming just ALL to do with farming! You rock Farmer! Joni😊

For me the two girls are keepers, not scared of the camera and seemingly a very bad influence on Tom, although I wonder if it brings the father out in him
