Great job! I am an LCSW moving into school social work in a manger role after 13 years in county mental health. I am working on my PPS-SC credential right now and start my new gig in two weeks. I appreciate the effort you put into this video and what a great channel!
I’ve had my mind set on medical social work but after starting community college and social work studies at my school...I think school social work is my calling. I love kids and I want to make their lives and situations better. I still love medical work so idk how I can level between them 😭

I just found your page and I am so happy. I'm currently an MSW intern at an elementary and high school, but hoping to do my 2nd year placement at a corrections facility or hospital. Your videos have been so helpful and insightful. I know SWs are very busy so thank you for taking the time to create these videos!
I love this video. I like how you brought a police officer in to speak to the kids. I think this is so important especially with all the policy brutality occuring. This lets the kids know not all cops are mean cops. I had no idea this is what school social work entails. It sounds interesting. I want to go for my MSW but now you have me conflicted on my concentration.
Wow you REALLY need to be an organized person for social work. I’m scared to see bad cases though...I know they need us, but I’m still apprehensive

Hey! Thank you for sharing. As a potentially new school social worker I'm curious how do you know what your to-do list is? what qualifications are needed to become a school social worker? (I have my LCSW-A currently), how's the training for school social workers? do you typically get are feral for each case and work with the kiddo and family from there based on the needs? and where do you find all these great resources? Does college help you hunt down a job or do you have to do it yourself?
During the world's current pandemic how are school social workers reaching out to the children/students that were on their caseload prior to school being cancelled for the school year? I know most school districts are utilizing online resources to continue educating students but are school social workers services being utilized as well?

How did you choose to be a school social worker. I am considering it but I am also interested in other stuff in the field. I was thinking about forensic interviewing, working at a domestic violence organization, working at a place called girls group which is an organization in Michigan that helps at-risk girls with school stuff and personal lives or school social work. I don't know which one I would want to do,
I can't decide between school counseling and school social work lol
Do you know if school social work will be more prevalent in the DFW area? I feel like there are no jobs available in this field :/

I currently work at the VA thinking of transitioning to school social work for a few years.
How is the work-life balance? Do you get time off?
yES! I have a whole month and a half off for summer that I am enjoying right now :))
What percent of your job is consumed by meeting with students in face to face appointments?
