I still remember the early days of World of Tanks, when premium vehicules where often the stock version (or similar) of the same tier main line tank... so they where a bit underpowered but they made more money so it was ok... then they introduced OP premium tanks (oh the early days of the T-59) and everybody bought them... WG could not pass out on that...
I had regrets sometimes buying the Tirpitz since i could have gotten Kutuzov at that time, but i wasnt as good then so i was scared to play low hp squishy cruiser so i went with the BB, but i will never have a second doubt about the JB that ship is in a league of its own.
Let me explain you the description of Main battery reload booster. because u didnt read the description im sure. Main Battery reload booster : Crew rubs a lamp, where a genie comes out and pops a shell inside your barrel, Letting you tell people you have insane reload. *HISTORICALLY ACCURATE*
Yup just as accurate as instantly repairing a broken turret or engine, or radars that go through islands but only work 30 seconds before overheating, or any other ability really... but you get my point, I don't understand why people complain about this one in particular but not the others...
For a while - historically speaking - the British BB crews implemented their own version of reload boost. They violated protocol and implemented some "shortcuts" in the process of getting powder and shells to the turrets on its way from the magazine. Some blast doors not closed - powder stashed in transit in areas where it does not belong. They really had a faster rate of fire. But in some historical battles, they kept detonating surprisingly fast.... given that otherwise harmless hits now were jackpot hits... You can find a documentary of that on youtube.
Isn't it just that the feed drugs to the crews and 30 seconds later they are off their high? And it takes them a few minutes to get their bodies ready for their next dose.
The Missouri is the same as an Iowa, it just gets more credits after battle, and the Missouri has basically the same armour as Iowa. Missouri is just a reprint of Iowa that gets more credits.
22.second reload on those 15inch guns are scary alone, But then it has reload booster so 11 second reload.... Best AA in the game.... And good speed.... BALANS
Since the name Jean Bart came from a famous pirate of the same name, it make sense to make this ship a bit of an assassin with the speed, stealth and reload burst. But still, 10 secs reload on a naval cannon is pure magic.
Flamu shush! XD Jean Bart still needs 7 km base secondaries like all the other french BB just like how all German BB get the 1/4 HE pen. With a higher secondary base range then the Jean Bart will become a very good seller for Wargaming because it will be one of only a thew ships which can be spec'ed in all three roles of Main Gun, AAA or Secondary builds. Plus once enemy players start to figure out that you just have to angle against the Jean Bart then those 15" guns loose their charm. fun vid Flamu keep up the great work!

Autoloader in WoT makes sense because there's the distinction between autoloading and manual loading(although they're still a bit too fast). However on these big battleships almost all the work is already done by machinery aka autoloader, there's no way of speed it up other than upgrading to a completely new gun system(like Baltimore->Des Moines). Not to mention being able to cut reload time by half. By this logic WG can also add a booster than doubles the shell velocity for 30s. Would that be fun?

As long as it keeps the spicy dispersion I will probably still buy it, Repub is the only accurate quad gun BB left, and I love spicy quads, the broadside punishment is so brutal, I get a chuby when the shells fly out in that nice flat row.
Grubnar increase the reload on the premium heal with about 20 seconds. And cut the AA power in half, cause BB's shouldnt be AA monsters. The rest I would leave it as it is. That reload booster is a unique and nice gimmick that ofsets the lower caliber and quantity of the main battery guns.
VINDICATED. People in my clan going about how the JB at T9 won't fit with the 380mm guns, the low HP etc.. And me going: yeah.. but dispersion, reload booster.. I'd rather see it at T9, then another T8 premium BB; between silver Richelieu, and premium Alsace.. what does a T8 premium JB bring? An upgraded Richelieu? That won't be P2W at all.. Oh and btw: I'm grinding the F. the Grossly underpowered... that thing has sooo many things wrong with it; crappy guns, crappy handling, crappy secondaries.. Fuck WG for leaving that ship that way.. but apparantly, the IJN gun-DD line needs uberpen.. instead of simply going 100 / 5 = 20mm pen; problems solved; buff handling, torp reload,.. decent DD's.
I am not surprised that they give the ship this reload mod and better stigma because the want earn more money and with such a strong ship the same with haragumo they will kill wows in the next year
The dakkadakka power creep in this game feels like the penetration power creep in World of Tanks. In a year they'll buff all the other BBs to reload in 20s.
Musashi guns are very powerful, but frustratingly inaccurate 😌 besides, you will rarely get in a t7 mm nowadays. Against t10, it's very slugish and vulnerable due to its high citadel. Get Jean Bart instead 👍
The guns are less accurate now. They lowered the sigma from 2.0 to 1.9 and yes, you can feel the difference. But it is absolutely worth getting. Still pretty strong and fun to play.
Dear Flamu, thanks again for the great vids. However, some constructive criticism: From 12:45 on, you say "it's a bit (too) much" about 7 times, if you count the phrase with "many" in. So, yeah, it's a bit too many times too much. Still like the vid. THX
After playing the Richelieu a lot and failing at it I think this type of design has to be strong to survive. Everyone raves about 8 guns all forward but I have not been able to consistently make it work at T8. The JB probably could lose the excellent AA, secondaries are already nerf’d, and we see that 380 mm will not be optimal in this tier bracket. Flamu is showing his best games and he is a unicum player. Remember potatoes are going to be driving this ship, it’s not that strong. Remember, 32 mm armor everywhere and IFHE CLs and soon IJN DDs are a thing.
For the reccord Flamu, usually, french sailors say "Sacrebleu". Even if Sacré Bleu, should be the grammatical correct way to say it, nous one says that.
From my previous comment on the Jean Bart now that I've seen this ship in action and watching Flamu, I will take back some of the things I said of the Jean Bart. On paper before, it wasn't looking promising but now, I'm having second thoughts. This thing may only have 380mm guns but with the French Penetration that I now just learned (I dont play WoWS as constantly and keep tabs on news) and the reload booster, this thing is a NIGHTMARE to anything that wants to fight it. Oh, you used dama-con on a single fire or a flood? Pop that reload booster and set 4 fires for BBQ! Oh, you fucked up and beached yourself broadside? Pop that reload booster and give him a nice hard paddlin'! Oh, you seem to have hurt me alot and want to hurt me more? Pop that insane heal speed and tank better than the Tussets! Oh, you seem to have sent all your tier 10 planes at me? ENJOY SOME FUN AND ENGAGING AA DAKA DAKA MOTHAFUCKA! Though in all honesty, the ship does need a slight tone down because it is a bit too much. The AA is, in my opinion, another FUCK YOU to the aircraft carrier players. I understand the concept of the reload booster but on a battleship, it just feels way too fantasy because, yes, they're only 380mm shells, but those are STILL 15" shells! I don't think battleships have autoloaders that can pump rounds like that, even the retro-fitted updated Missouri and New Jersey Iowa-Class Battleships didn't have a staggering reload and this is the 80s and 90s we're talking about here, not WW2 or Post-WW2 (Des Moines class cruisers were developed in 1946 of September for example). The ship is rather squish yes, especially in Tier 10 games which will be normal for the Jean Bart since she's tier 9 and Yamato's will be feasting on this ship all day long with her massive 460s putting a non-stop paddling on the entirety of the ship's structure and conquerors, well, what's to say about the conqueror, it will set 5 fires, 4 on the ship and a hidden one inside the citadel and that's where the heal comes into play. It balances her overall squish rate by keeping her afloat longer and having the identical guns of the Alsace, 380mm that can't do shit against angled 27mm armored cruisers. I do like how the ship is, I like how she can be a massive threat and I can see her as an AA/Secondary hybrid ship because, dat ass is very well armed and protected and as fly swatters for days. So the Jean Bart can really help in supporting an offensive push, then pop the infamous spood beast and get out, recover some health and return to assisting the team. We shall see how the ship goes on about through the tests and eventually, the release. *Now waits very patiently though very eagerly for the Prinz Eitel, beautiful as fuck looking ship.*
In my opinion, a +20 sec to the current reload time on both heal versions + a long range AA -30% DPM nerf should be enough to make it sit in the line, as the ship takes a lot of damages from HE spam and has low health. Lowering its survivability would make it more of a glass canon and I think that's what this ship is really. Wadya think?
Is it that scary? It's still a French Fries BB, as you said it has 32 mm Armor everywhere, low caliber guns and low HP pool. Yes, you may punish people broadsiding, but they can punish you in this thing harder. A Musashi/Yamato will eat this thing alive at long range, HE will burn it to ash. Even before you may use your Epic Reload Booster thing. It's just overall a better Richelieu with a special consumable and fearsome AA, but still manageable. A DD spots Jean and it's done with an enemy Yamasashi overmatching the bow. I'm still trying to have fun with French BBs but the weaknesses are obvious. Maybe the AA is too much, I'll agree on that, but the overall is just still the same old French drive-by with the spood beast: you flank, retreat, and do it over again before the HE will fry you or some huge guns' AP just visits your citadel...
So the ship punishes misplay simultaneously allow a lot of misplay from itself? With good turning circle, already quick guns reload( horrifying with the reload booster), god tier AA, great concealment, great speed and trollish armor that rarely find yourself get citadel. tbh, I'm not so keen about this idea, I "love" how WG established their pay-to-win role with the nerf to alsace just to release a superior premium.
she is a beast, aa is beautiful, ap has good pen, 36% on he. shes fast enough to pop out behind an island unload salvos and get back before they can shoot. i love it but i think its on the side of op
There are so few CV players. And playing CV is the hardest thing in the game. With each new ship having better/stronger AA what is the motivation to be a CV player?
Ahh but flamu, i believe you are forgetting that WG is already nerfing this ship but bringing more pewpew to the game in form of british and japanese gun boats, they will probably make the worcestershire sauce be at 50% around the same time as this ship comes out, just to add more pew.

physixger To be fair there is also armor power creep in WoT. I remember when I could penetrate the front of a maus turret with around 235 pen.

From my previous comment on the Jean Bart now that I've seen this ship in action and watching Flamu, I will take back some of the things I said of the Jean Bart. On paper before, it wasn't looking promising but now, I'm having second thoughts. This thing may only have 380mm guns but with the French Penetration that I now just learned (I dont play WoWS as constantly and keep tabs on news) and the reload booster, this thing is a NIGHTMARE to anything that wants to fight it.

Though in all honesty, the ship does need a slight tone down because it is a bit too much. The AA is, in my opinion, another FUCK YOU to the aircraft carrier players. I understand the concept of the reload booster but on a battleship, it just feels way too fantasy because, yes, they're only 380mm shells, but those are STILL 15" shells! I don't think battleships have autoloaders that can pump rounds like that, even the retro-fitted updated Missouri and New Jersey Iowa-Class Battleships didn't have a staggering reload and this is the 80s and 90s we're talking about here, not WW2 or Post-WW2 (Des Moines class cruisers were developed in 1946 of September for example). The ship is rather squish yes, especially in Tier 10 games which will be normal for the Jean Bart since she's tier 9 and Yamato's will be feasting on this ship all day long with her massive 460s putting a non-stop paddling on the entirety of the ship's structure and conquerors, well, what's to say about the conqueror, it will set 5 fires, 4 on the ship and a hidden one inside the citadel and that's where the heal comes into play. It balances her overall squish rate by keeping her afloat longer and having the identical guns of the Alsace, 380mm that can't do shit against angled 27mm armored cruisers.
I do like how the ship is, I like how she can be a massive threat and I can see her as an AA/Secondary hybrid ship because, dat ass is very well armed and protected and as fly swatters for days. So the Jean Bart can really help in supporting an offensive push, then pop the infamous spood beast and get out, recover some health and return to assisting the team. We shall see how the ship goes on about through the tests and eventually, the release.

In my opinion, a +20 sec to the current reload time on both heal versions + a long range AA -30% DPM nerf should be enough to make it sit in the line, as the ship takes a lot of damages from HE spam and has low health. Lowering its survivability would make it more of a glass canon and I think that's what this ship is really. Wadya think?

Is it that scary? It's still a French Fries BB, as you said it has 32 mm Armor everywhere, low caliber guns and low HP pool. Yes, you may punish people broadsiding, but they can punish you in this thing harder. A Musashi/Yamato will eat this thing alive at long range, HE will burn it to ash. Even before you may use your Epic Reload Booster thing. It's just overall a better Richelieu with a special consumable and fearsome AA, but still manageable. A DD spots Jean and it's done with an enemy Yamasashi overmatching the bow. I'm still trying to have fun with French BBs but the weaknesses are obvious. Maybe the AA is too much, I'll agree on that, but the overall is just still the same old French drive-by with the spood beast: you flank, retreat, and do it over again before the HE will fry you or some huge guns' AP just visits your citadel...

So the ship punishes misplay simultaneously allow a lot of misplay from itself? With good turning circle, already quick guns reload( horrifying with the reload booster), god tier AA, great concealment, great speed and trollish armor that rarely find yourself get citadel. tbh, I'm not so keen about this idea, I "love" how WG established their pay-to-win role with the nerf to alsace just to release a superior premium.

she is a beast, aa is beautiful, ap has good pen, 36% on he. shes fast enough to pop out behind an island unload salvos and get back before they can shoot. i love it but i think its on the side of op

There are so few CV players. And playing CV is the hardest thing in the game. With each new ship having better/stronger AA what is the motivation to be a CV player?

Ahh but flamu, i believe you are forgetting that WG is already nerfing this ship but bringing more pewpew to the game in form of british and japanese gun boats, they will probably make the worcestershire sauce be at 50% around the same time as this ship comes out, just to add more pew.
