@@superkoopatrooper4879 They've already seen it. But yeah, this is a nice little reminder of 10 years ago and how cringey the ASOIAF fanbase can be. I ended up reading the books between Seasons 3 and 4 of the show because of similarly stupid comments which similarly spoiled the end of Season 3 for me. It would have been amazing to experience the show blind, but I guess people's own selfish interests outweigh basic decency and consideration of others.
Baelon calls himself the “King of the Iron Islands”. Rob is “King of the North”. Stannis is the “rightful heir to the SEVEN Kingdoms” so anyone that is breaking away from the 7 would be on his list.

the key to why stannis wants them three is when he says "the usurper" before each of them. stannis sees himself as the only rightful ruler and cares most about casting down "false kings." which goes with the theme of how he already killed his brother Renly with magic for claiming himself a king.
it's that the renly kill just happened to be a lot more strategic. these three leech kills aren't the most strategic, cause stannis isn't all that strategic outside of a battlefield. he cares a lot more about how people "should" act as opposed to how they actually Do act, as opposed to someone like tyrion who focuses a lot more on the latter

Technically he doesn't see himself as king, he 100% believes he is and is correct by law. It is not an opinion or matter of debate to him. He genuinely believes his claim has been stolen.
@@jameer7565 sees himself as king and believes himself as king are nearly identical within his mind. you're just making it stronger by adding the 100% part. i could say "he very much sees himself as the true and rightful king" and now mine is stronger than yours by virtue of the magnifying adjectives lol.
but you're right, the magnifier IS especially accurate in the case of stannis, proven by the fact that he's (nearly) willing to sacrifice an innocent teenager to kill three men just because they gave themselves a new title, when there are definitely more strategic threats to choose from--tywin namely, especially in place of BALON!
also, as much as we may like robb i'd say he actually WAS a good pick for stannis. robb was a genuine military threat who, with his own natural talents, military training, and the counsel of experienced veterans, could actually match or perhaps even beat stannis on the battlefield, his own strong suit. not to mention, robb's army wasn't Thaaat insignificant, he still had... kiiinda big numbers?
and even more so, as robert himself says, the North in and of itself comprises almost Half the total land area of Westeros (below the wall lol)! it's mostly crappy land, true, but still. he'd be seen as the weakest and among the worst kings in the history of Westeros, right up there with Aenys.
now, to be fair, i don't think Stannis would care about how people or even history would see him--he'd probably care more about the fact that it's "rightfully his land as king of the Seven kingdoms, not the six, so robb can't have it." but from a practical standpoint, him and the baratheons being seen as so weak that they lost half the nation's total land (again, regardless of if its largely crap land), well, it would not bode well for the future of the dynasty or the peace of the realm, which stannis Does actually care about--he is after all the only "king who cares" (won't say more for the sake of spoilers). there would likely be constant revolts, attempts at secession, etc.. and when it comes to that kinda stuff, when it rains, it pours, so to speak (i mean in the main story 5 rival kings all popped up right after the first one declared). and ofc all of that is terrible for the wellbeing of the people and the realm as a whole
balon was a crap choice to be fair. i'd say the best choice would probably be switch out balon for tywin. and don't switch joffrey for tyrion, because without tyrion's father lording his authority over tyrion, i doubt tyrion would put up with joffrey's abuse for long and would likely throw his lot in with one of the other kings and do what he (tyrion) can to try to save jaime if joffrey ends up losing. going into further good hypothetical strategic choices beyond these obvious three (tywin, joffrey, robb) would be getting into spoiler territory imo
Stannis is an idiot he could’ve just waited until Renly took kings landing with the tyrells and then kill Renly, but his idiotic ass let the lannisters get the tyrells.

The bedding ceremony was an actual thing in Western Europe for a long time. Family, friends, and others close members of the community would carry the bride and groom to their bed (which was sometimes blessed by a priest) and place them on it. They'd hang around for a bit and customs surrounding that were different for every community, but they would then pull the curtains on the bed and leave to give them privacy to actually consummate the marriage. It was a bizarre and barbaric way of including the community in a private relationship and humiliated the brides. The practice was refused by some monarchs and that eventually led to the dismantling of the practice.
If I remember correctly, they would hang around outside the bed chamber until morning and the sheet from the bed would be brought out to show proof of consummation. Then I guess they all went and had pancakes.
The Tyrells don't come from the Hightowers, the Tyrells are the wardens of the south and the Hightowers are vassals to the Tyrells. There have been marriages between the two famillies through history so there is that type of familial connection, but they are different houses.

The Hightowers are from Old Town where the Citadel is. The Tyrels are from High Garden in the reach. 😁
They were always allies and intermarried. For example, Margaery and Loras' parents were Tyrell (father) and Hightower (mother).

Margaerys mother is Alerie Hightower. The Hightowers hail from the southern part of the Reach. But the high lords if the Reach are the Tyrells by Targaryen degree. But those two familys have internarried multiple time and are usually allies
They know the Hightowers; they've seen HotD.
The best analogy is when you hit a cockroach with a sandal and run really fast without it. Everyone done that.
11:00 see the first time I watched this series I completely didn’t even think about the smoke monster thing. I thought maybe it was a possibility but I thought she was more or less just doing the leech thing to get a vision of each of those people Stannis named to see what Stannis needs to do to end up winning.

House Hightower is also part of The Reach but they live in a city called Oldtown.

My guess is they got hit with copyright issues again. This happened with one of their other GOT videos for season 1.
Tyrells & Hightowers are intermarried but the Hightowers still exist as their own family, although they don't have as much prestige as they did in the HOTD era. The Tyrells are also directly descended from House Gardener, the OG great house of the Reach.
And yes, Daario Naharis is a simp, sorry. In the books he's got blue hair and some crazy accessories. Google "daario naharis book appearance" and you'll see fan art of how he's described. Would have been cool if they went with that in the show but I guess they thought it would be too weird in live action, lol.

Tyrells were lords of the Reach even in HoTD times, and Hightowers were their vassals. Tyrells come from house Gardener, but no, the Tyrells don't come from Hightowers.
Hightowers, funnily enough, aren't a cadet branch of house Gardener, they were there before Andal invasion.
The idea that Stannis would go for Tyrells for no reason is ... interesting, but there are 3 remaining usurpers/thiefs in his mind: Robb, Jofferey and Balon.

Don't know if it was answered or not. The reason Belon and Robb were named for leeches was because they named themselves king and are in open rebellion against the crown. The war of 5 kings is covered better in the books

The way their society is set up the Tyrels and Hightowers are kin through marriage, but the house system means they’re not so much family, rather allies via marriage pact.
The Tyrels are Andal and a cadet house of House Gardener, the original occupants of HighGarden and kings of the Reach, the Hightowers were petty Kings before them, and are the blood of the first men or possibly came even before the first men.

I don't agree with Cannon this time lol I don't think Daario is a simp. I'm more on Carter's POV of things this time. I don't think Daario respected or understood his captains morals or goals. I mean, when we see them talking we can see that they don't understand him either. He saw what kind of leader that Daernerys is and was more on her wavelength.
