This is definitely Rachael's best role. She was great as a mother.

Nah. Emberly was her best role.

@@Tkieron She embodied Emberly, but Emberly was kind of tacked-on and didn't have a chance to go deep. She kind of pulled Emberly up from being shallow, but this is the role that lets her show all of herself

Big up Slippery-When-Wet Dikrat, AKA The Mother Last-Name

@@QuikVidGuy agreed. Emberlys character development was stunted by her smaller role in the story. She really does a great job as Slippery When Wet.

How is it that Jeff Blim can write parents so well? This song and the one Dylan Saunders sings Black Friday kill me every time! Bravo

As a mom, I cry every time I hear this song. The line "And it feels so great to watch the one you save be the most adoring person your mom has ever known" breaks me with happy tears

I love this version. It's more emotional.

It amazes me how the song writers can have a song like this with such huge emotional impact and still have a parody the next moment. The writers at Starlix are amazing

I'm way too late but yes, very much agreed. I think of my own relationship with my mom and coming across this in my shuffles will make me tear up.

This is one of the most visceral transitions to song I’ve heard in a musical. Like- she COULDNT do anything except sing. She’s not singing for the audience even anymore- she’s singing for herself.
