FOOTBALL VIOLENCE BREAKS OUT AFTER DERBY MATCH BETWEEN SOUTHAMPTON AND PORTSMOUTH

- Back in February violence broke out after the Derby match between rivals Southampton and Portsmouth. Fans proceeded to hurl objects and bottles at each other out of anger.
Police had to work hard to keep fans the rivals apart but the operation was planned weeks in advance.

The old bill should let them get on with it, no police = 2000 jumping up and downers running away and about 20 lads standing toe to toe.
I was at that game. My mate threw a bottle at a skate having it large in it smashed him right in the face. Was a cracking shot.

@MaryTheJournalist1 Mary, i wouldnt let them get to you! This report is fine, it brings through the message of what happend, it informs people of the facts along with a sort of commentry as to what happend on the day. This is a good report :)
That reporter is the worst
neither set of fans wanted to fight, if they did they could have easily got through the police, they outnumbered them massively

These fans should get their shit together... what if something awful happened and there were not enough officers on duty to deal with the real problem, because so many were dispatched to babysit some rowdy football fans... A real shame
You need to have a bit more emotion in your voice, it sounds really scripted and I think could sound very boring if listen to for much longer than a few minutes.

@bubblesaints92 - yeah i know what you mean mate. cant imagine it being very nice derby, st marys was a nice ground but the area was pretty grim (no offence) and fratton park is just a shit hole. can imagine it getting hostile. Norwich do the same, say they're gunna kick off then get the football train down and complain there was too many police!

@bubblesaints92 - its not a competition, and yeah i know what you mean. in ipswich with the derby you couldn't turn a corner from about 10am onwards without seeing old bill.
Ipswich and Norwich, the same derby that fans have stood or sat next to each other at with barely a steward separating visiting supporters from home even in the early 90s
