Totally agree - I can't even imagine how challenging it is to continually try and climb Mt Everest after just missing the summit on multiple occasions. This team needs a full offseason to not only reset physically, but mentally.
Everyone talks about last year but I feel 2022-2023 season was out best chance to win. Won 10 in a row and were smoking hot blowing out everyone. Number one defense as well. Brock got hurt everything was gone but I think that team was the best version of the 9ers and our best chance to win it all.
@@jwesplayinify Also the same Kyle that traded three 1st-round draft picks for a 4th-round pick. We got Purdy because of a compensatory pick when Beathard left. Shanahan's decision making is all over the place.
I totally agree because I feel as a fan exactly what you’re talking about. Between all of what you’ve discussed, seeing this team lose 3 SBs in little more than a decade; man I’m tired. I can’t keep watching them almost get there and fail at the last minute. I can’t even imagine being on the field feeling that and then having to shoulder all of the dejection from the fan base too. It’s gotta be crushing and sooner or later you’re going to just not be able to keep up that same output.
Actually, I agree with you at this point. The key players coming off of injury this season are so misaligned and disjointed I can't see them getting hot all of a sudden.
So much was put into last season that the SB loss just sucked the air right out of the team. It has bled into this season. Brock continues to play well but can only do so much. He is still learning. The OL just can't seem to mesh and the D just cannot tackle. I surmise even the coaches have lost their mojo.
Biggest difference is we are losing games this year. We have more weapons now than we did then. We have blown several leads this year. We lost key pieces early in 2020, this year we have had our squad that we need to win for the most part, besides CMC.
@@greghumphrey5642 They had weapons in 2020 aswell and Saleh still had them performing as a top tier defense. To still expect them to be doing any better is unrealistic.
Not true. Ward has missed games. Trent is at best 60 percent capacity. Greenlaw, the leader of the D is out. Aiyuk is out, the best receiver is out. Bosa, CMC, and Kittle are missing games and ailing even when they play.

What makes last year so different? Everyone was healthy. The only major problems they had were Bosa getting into play shape, ups and downs with a new DC, and a couple spec team screw ups in key moments. With those exceptions, they were a force to be wreckoned with last season. I say they need a break, erase the SB loss for good, and come back strong next season like they did last year.
The off season was telling after the SB loss! KC reloaded and revamped with a plan, injuries happen and they made moves. 9ers off season was full of drama and trauma. Contract disputes that should have been handled earlier, egos inflated, missing training camp with Aiyuk and Trent. Ricky getting shot and injured in camp! Then you have Kyle hiring a brand new DC bc the players wanted familiarity. At the end of the day, this is a business and it seems Kyle got his boys paid and now the hunger is gone. The hunters are now the hunted, and the road to success never got us a title. Now Kyle has all his former coaches and philosophies all around the league, they know his playbook well.
The way you explain it, l think the niners should take a break for the rest of this season. Let’s just lose the rest to get a good draft pick, and take a pause. Let the teams emotions catch up and just give them a break from the commentary. Then next season, let’s go for it. One more chance before a rebuild, SB 60 AT Levi’s stadium. This season just isn’t it, but next season the niners have to fight to make it. Ignore the money issue, on the side of the game and the emotional impact of this sport, just catch up now, rest up, recharge, then next season go all out(not all in like the cowboys did lol) and go all the way.
I think Flores and Spags have been living in Brock's head this whole season and he's not trusting what he's seeing. Too hesitant in the biggest most important moments. Not saying he's the only reason, but he's played a part.
I feel like they lost the fire, the hunger to win after the Super Bowl. This led to the early losses and then the injury bug hit, which is unfortunate, and caused the losses like the packers and seahawks. During this, the entire coaching staff (Shanahan, Sorenson, and whoever the special teams guy is) were stubborn and didn’t change anything. So at this point, everyone is hurt, the locker room is getting more and more toxic and the coaches aren’t doing anything about it. Shanahan has been figured out, and has now been exposed for the issues of him not changing anything. Dobbs should have started last night, Mason should still get majority of the workload to let McCaffrey some back slowly, and he needs to stop diverting the blame. He can draft, so he should step back and do the drafting. Or if he doesn’t, bring a guy like Saleh back for the defense, get SOMEBODY for the special teams, and stop being so stubborn. Brock is playing well, but his team isn’t supporting him around. The O-line is straight trash, Trent is getting older, and Puni is the only one who is playing like an elite player. The receivers cannot get separation, and defensive line and linebackers haven’t been delivering, which leads to openings down the field, which leads to touchdowns. If this were to change, the O-line needs to step up by a huge amount, the defensive line needs to get to the quarterback, the receivers need to get open, the special teams needs to stop being special needs, and they should be fine. Probably not gonna happen, but I’ve been surprised before.
The biggest problem is there schedule. Back to back games @GB @Buf at the worst possible time is the real reason it’s over. If they had a couple soft balls they could make pull together a couple wins while they get healthy. They’re only a game out and they get to play Ariz and LAR, so it’s not unrealistic to think they could win both of those and steal the division. The problem is, they’re not going to win next week in Buffalo and that’ll end it
Has nothing to do with being mentality drained…. They are simply not good enough and not well coached enough to have championship pedigree enough with the excuses
Honest Opinion: They area a team that lacks any type of creativity on offense. They are very undisciplined on BOTH sides of the ball. They have a HC who does not know how to fix issues he only sits back and hopes they fix themselves. They are a very weak team defensively. Oh and they are a very old team as well.
Kinda feels like the SB loss was like a game of dominoes that has screwed us since. Can’t help but wonder if CMC overdid it in the offseason trying to compensate for the SB loss & his fumble - which put us down one of our biggest weapons for the first 8 weeks (and now he’s not playing the same so far).
Does anyone feel like we practice too hard and we shouldn’t tackle in practice? I feel like it has to do with our injuries. Our main guys are getting older and older so maybe it’s putting more wear and tear on them then needed now. Idk
@ that could be also the footing combined with Jacobs just being a beast. But I get your point. Do you think it’s more coaching or players not playing good? I think players more to blame. These are pros. No real excuses.
I didn’t care about the team until we started winning, eh? Started covering this team in 2017 when they were winless, started my YT channel in January 2021, you know after the disastrous 2020 season but keep saying random crap with zero bearings to anything 👍

This is not Brock's fault. We would be SO much worse without him. He is one of our only bright spots, but this is a team sport and everyone is not doing their part to win, including his offensive line.
First off I have been going to games since kezar as long as Kyle is coaching they will never win a super bowl not drafting quality offensive linemen since Kyle and having receivers that r incapable of getting open holding out for more money doesn’t do the team any favors maybe they won’t say it but it has to cause resentment on other players and Kyle being arrogant every team knows what they r going to do
