As I mentioned in the last video, golden has a recipe for qnag on their website if anyone is interested, as well Michelle from grateful creations has made the recipe
I only noticed the differences in colour and opacity after you pointed them out. Overall I find the TriArt painting to be more dramatic, the qnag is softer and brighter. Anyway, both paintings are stunning even though you mentioned you were not trying to make a master piece. 🤩 You are an amazing artist!
No I’m with you, I find the one in your right hand is a brighter colour and the depth of colour is also nicer. I love all of your art , thank you for being you and sharing your time with us.
First of all both pourings are due to your sophisticated technique outstanding and I think there’s only a minor difference between the TriArt Golden Yellow and QNAG from Golden. The Golden Yellow is from my point of view a good alternative Jessica👍🏻⭐️🙂
Exactly correct… I think you’re right about the difference of intensity. I love my QNAG and will actually be very sad when I use the last of my stock supply. That said the Tri Art might be a possible substitute. I’ll know for sure when I start working with it. As always, you are the best and I appreciate your time and talent in putting this together. Thank you so much ❤️
Thank you for this comparison. I agree with your take on the results, especially about the gradient effect of QNAG. I look forward to learning more. (BTW, I painted next to you at the COZ Mermaid Tail Swipe class at PourCon.)
I love both paintings, makes me think of plump happy bees gathering 🍯 know what u mean about the QNAG, the other one is lovely too but heavier and darker. Your painting is so relaxing to watch, thank you so much, love from Ireland 🙂❤️
I truly love these. Reminds me of a butterfly. Both are comparable and beautiful…I see what you’re saying about the qnag for sure. Awesome job my girl. 🧡💛🤎
There is just nothing like qnag. Both paintings are fab but only qnag has that beautiful gradient and the fading out toward the edges. I just love that. Have you tried the golden nickel azo yellow and transparent red oxide at 1 to 4 ratio? Great experiment❤❤❤❤❤
Hello Jessica, Golden has suggested an alternative to QNAG. 4 parts Transparent Red Iron Oxide + 1 part Nickle Azo Yellow. Thought you might want to know. ❤ It's identical in color to the QNAG.
I do understand ... The luminosity seems better with qnag ... I always think with your paintings it gets a sense of being backlit ... The triart not the same ... More opaq-ish. But color-wise good.
Here is the recipe for nag from the golden folks, 4 drops of red iron oxcide mix with 1 drop of nickel Azo yellow high fluid of course hope it helps you p.s. luv your work❤
The real QNAG has a certain sheen on a canvas when dry! It stands out above any other color on a painting. Quinacridone is a compound, produced by mining the earth and is basically mined to its existence.
because the paint brands don't make the pigments, they rely on the pigment industry, and they rely on the automotive sector who is their bigger client. So in the end, depending on car's colors fashions, we may get some pigments on our colors, and not others.
Is it over all cheaper to get house paint and use that instead making tons of white pillow paint? By the way. I love all your work and love my spinner. The next one I want to get is the big one. I have the baby one which again, I love it. So I am excited to see if you will be making a new one. Keep us updated on that please. Love both of the painting. One is a little darker than the other one.
Confession: I have a big tube of QNAG left! I see what you mean. Both paintings are beautiful and the hues are almost identical, but the paints react and behave differently. I think it's just because it's golden and they do something to their paints!
Both colours are great. For me it depends on what kind of feeling you want from the painting. The Golden Yellow is more autumn, while QNAG also has a summer feel to it. Curious what will happen if you can make the TriArt a bit more transparent.
Hi Jessica, I just love your style, both painting and you 💚 have you tried Golden’s recommendation of a replacement for QNAG? Transparent red oxide and nickel azo yellow? I’ve ordered the red, I have the yellow 🧐
Q Azo gold is hard to beat! I'm wondering if you have any advice for making the final composition not look like it's "radial"--like all shapes are directed from the center to the outside. I've tried to avoid blowing from center->out, but invariable my pieces all look like they have obviously been spun. I want to avoid tilting to distort the cells. Yours don't have the radial look to them which I think is great, I just can't quite tell what you and I are doing differently. Danke!
However did you achieve the look of QNAG with just the yellow?? I’d be hard pressed to pick out which one has the QNAG. Golden’s site said the combination of PR101 & PY150 is pretty darn close.
Tri Art doesn't hold up. Golden is richer, it has that something extra. I think the new one Sellie qnag has a good chance. I have an idea on how to source more Golden. No guarantee. Fingers crossed.
Both beautiful pieces. But you’re right very hard to compare ‘scientifically’. The patch of the non Qnag seems thicker in the end, whether that paint is thicker or what.? Personally I’m not sure what all the fuss is actually about - I’m not a fan of the colour at all, it’s too orange for me……..
I lived the BTS vibe of watching you use the blow-dryer ... It have a really good sense of how close you are to the canvas for blowing. ❤❤❤❤
Perfect! Glad to hear that

I like the one with more black in it.

Thanks so much 😊glad you find that too.
This turned out to be a beautiful paintings, The golden yellow is prettier to me.. but that is my opinion and is subjective. Great on both

Yes! Thank you!

I like them both ❤❤
Try triart transparent gold oxide. I would love to see that comparison. I love both of your paintings. Outstanding as always!!
Thank you for sharing your wonderful work!~
Thanks for watching
I know exactly what you’re saying. Thank God I still have QNAG. LOL
I do understand ... The luminosity seems better with qnag ... I always think with your paintings it gets a sense of being backlit ... The triart not the same ... More opaq-ish. But color-wise good.
Totally agree. QNAG is just special
The second one really glows
So, it's not just me?!
QNAG is unique!
Here is the recipe for nag from the golden folks, 4 drops of red iron oxcide mix with 1 drop of nickel Azo yellow high fluid of course hope it helps you p.s. luv your work❤
They are both beautiful but the one on your left has a deeper color!
The real QNAG has a certain sheen on a canvas when dry! It stands out above any other color on a painting. Quinacridone is a compound, produced by mining the earth and is basically mined to its existence.
Both are beautiful but I like the first one better. If everyone loves that color why would they discontinue it ?
because the paint brands don't make the pigments, they rely on the pigment industry, and they rely on the automotive sector who is their bigger client. So in the end, depending on car's colors fashions, we may get some pigments on our colors, and not others.
Hi Jessica,
Great experiment! I love both paintings they're stunning. I love Tri art paints.❤❤❤
Me too!! very good quality. Thank you G.
Hi Jes, do you still use Nova in any of your work ??? @@WinterStromArt

Love both of the painting. One is a little darker than the other one.
For me, the housepaint works best. And I pay $20 for a Gallon. That's hard to beat

Maybe add some submarine and harvest gold to the triart so it's not darker? Just thinking....
That's a thought. Think, I will start with maybe use more PM. maybe use less varnish so it doesn't get too thin.
Wonder if you added a bit of a transparent yellow into Triart it might brighten it up?txz jeanne

Have you tried W&N Professional Quinacridone Gold? It's very close to Golden qnag.
I like the music and your art. What is the name of the music ?
sorry, I don't remember. I get my music from Epidemic sound

Is the QNAG still available?
You might find it somewhere but it’s discontinued. You can get similar colors but they’re not the same
You’re such a 😎 chick ! Love your work !
Tri Art doesn't hold up. Golden is richer, it has that something extra. I think the new one Sellie qnag has a good chance. I have an idea on how to source more Golden. No guarantee. Fingers crossed.
I think they make a beautiful pair that anyone would love. I don’t see the difference..
I also like triart brand better, more dramatic. There is a difference.

Honestly I like the triart one better, more dramatic
