Things like this is why I subscribed. This captures the feel of New Vegas perfectly.I can clearly see the picture,me walking out of the Northern Passage and looking south, right at the beautiful lights of New Vegas. The wind is blowing in the cold, empty wasteland that's just waiting to be explored.Welcome Home.
I lean on the wall outside the tops, watching my fellow NCR comrades stumble out, leary eyed and wholesome, nuka cola in hand as the sun sets beneath the new Vegas desert sky...I'm home!
I can just imagine two NCR troopers patrolling the walls outside Camp Mccarran in the late night the glow of New Vegas washing over them having a solemn conversation about the state of things, how much has changed since they were young and how they never imagined the NCR would expand this far, sharing a couple of cigarettes gazing outward towards the east. "So who hooked up the music to the loudspeakers?" *The NCR Corporal leans against the wall taking his last drag before passing it to his buddy, staring out towards Black Mountain.* "Corporal White. Before he went MIA. Contreras smuggled it in from Freeside. Its a shame he loved this song, Vegas musta rubbed off too much on him though." "Any idea what happened to him?" "I know he was constantly going to Gomorrah all the time, you think our salary covers those costs? Omertas aren't exactly big on grace periods. Honestly with how many of our guys go missing from the Strip and Freeside, id rather be at the Dam. No one wants us here. The funny thing is when Boyd found out about the loudspeaker system, and that White was responsible, she wasn't a hardass about it..... she asked Colonel Hsu if they could play it at night.... for moral. Like Boyd thinks if we play it, he will come home like its a dog whistle." "Doesn't sound like something she'd even entertain." "Stern as ever, but out here, I think we all long for something, someone, somewhere. God I miss Redding." "Got family back there?" "Got a lot of problems back there." *The Corporal pulls out a photo and passes to the other trooper of a pregnant woman outside a homestead with a Mole Rat sitting beside her on the porch. Returning to his drag, gunfire goes off in the distance.* "You have a pet Mole Rat?" "Yeah my brother was trying to set traps for em from eating our crops in the spring. Caught this guy in a bear trap and was gunna finish it off, but the wife wouldn't have it, recently found out we were having twins, so she couldn't bear the sight of killing the runt of the pack. So she approaches it, and just pets its nose and it nuzzles her hand. I have seen some crazy things, but she could tame a Deathclaw right in its tracks. We call him Smokey. He got along with the dog too, he isn't in the picture though. Got torn up diving into a nest of Geckos. So my Smokey is who we got now. He protects the farm now. Dog died a few weeks after I was deployed. They had me stationed in Vault City, for a bit. Had these independence movement protests going on that we had to monitor. A paradise with clean water, electricity and an abundance of technology....they don't know what its like to live on the edge. Hard to believe the place used to have slaves. Seems so far away now. "Any idea when they are rotating us out of here? Like back to California?" "Rotate us back? That isn't happenening. President Kimball has his election campaign tied up in holding the Dam and pushing the Legion out of the Mojave. I know guys here who were on 12 month rotation back, who got told they needed to stay for another because of logistical circumstances. Its a bunch of bull, but where would you rather be in the Mojave? Forlorn Hope? Hoover Dam? I heard Searchlight is a radiated hellhole now. Face it no matter where we go its a shitshow and as crazy as the Psycho induced Fiend attacks are or the random Fire Ant encounters, we got it made here in comparison. Just sit back and enjoy the stars and music. Its the only peace we'll get out here."
*As me and my NCR pals walk out of the Gomorrah after a long evening of gambling, we get word that a guy by the alias of The Courier, had killed Caesar. I honestly wasn’t surprised given he was the one who had offed Benny and Mr house. I stare of into the darkening sky towards the ski lodge in the snowy peaks, what I was gonna do later tonight, was undecided. I often hear lots of NCR troops say “When I got this assignment I was hoping there would be more gambling.” But I knew damn well I am satisfied with what I do, fighting for a good cause. Fighting for what I believe in. This was Vegas. This was home.*

I kind of want to play this. I'm a trumpet player but man this is high
It's a real bitch to get running properly without crashes but if you can it's fun as hell

Now that's a scene I can get behind!

Man. If they do make a FNV remaster, they should get you to write the filler NPC chats. This is gold man, solid gold! Keep up the good work
