I had this exact thought!! How silly! How awful to be dying of heat but you can't take off your jacket because of the final joke. It's gonna pay off to sweat to death. And it did. He's amazing lol.
It takes a really genuinely nice person, to take the pi** out of themselves in front of an entire theatre audience, even though they are an international film star, millionaire and model.
So, I'm in 2019, watching a 2016 video taken from a 2010 routine, about the 2009 film 2012...that's not confusing at all. I feel sorry for anyone reading this comment after this year...

Kudos to Jimmy Mistri for doing this at all, even more so for just giving it everything. So funny to see a British born, Asian heritage man doing the stereotypical, doesn't-matter-which-part-of-a-huge-country "Indian" accent.
What I found amazing was how cell service was uninterrupted despite all the apocalyptic events going on. I had lousy cellphone service while traveling from Los Angeles to Seattle on Amtrak.
Notice that although London rarely "gets it" in disaster movies, Paris (especially the Eiffel tower) _always_ gets it. As Jeff Goldblum put it in Independence Day 2 : they love to hit the landmarks.
Fantastic Four RotSS, London has Fallen, Geostorm (I think, it has Gerard Butler as well). Sure there were plenty of others. I think there was a movie where someone shot a rod from space at London, and pretty much took out the city.
I was in the audience for the filming of this show and it's still funny no matter how many times I see it. It's still one of the best comedy shows I have been to, by one of the best comedians working today.
I loved 2012 for how ludicrous it was. What I loved the most was how everything was THE BIGGEST THING. A fault line breaks. Which fault line? THE BIGGEST FAULT LINE IN THE WORLD!!! They escape. A volcano erupts. Which volcano? THE BIGGEST VOLCANO IN THE WORLD!!! They escape. The ash cloud catches up. They escape in a plane. Which plane? THE BIGGEST PLANE IN THE WORLD!!! And my personal favourite: They get on the boats at the end. The boat nearly crashes into a mountain. Which mountain? THE BIGGEST MOUNTAIN IN THE WOOOOOORRRRRLD!!!
I love his idea about the dvd extra. My mom loved 2012. I had to pause the movie so she could stop laughing enough to breath. She bounced up and down, laughing, and pounding the seat next to her.
I saw this show live on my 16th birthday, having watched 2012 the year before. I was in absolute hysterics, I’ve never laughed so hard as at this show and it still gets me every time.
I absolutely adore 2012. Can watch it over and over and never get sick of it. And this hilarious review doesn't even mention the greatest scene, which shows unfortunate giraffes and rhinos being airlifted over the Himalayas. Thought I'd never stop laughing.
OMG! Dara has a great sense of rythm! As a Hispanic woman, I really appreciate it! Makes me think of Greg Davies (another tall drink of water) shaking his money maker while dancing to Boom Shzck-a-lack, lol).
I shamelessly love 2012 its my comfort film - it's ludicrous but all the information is spoon fed to you so you don't really have to think. And Dara just makes it 10x better!!
Do ya think when Jimmy hugged Dara at the end he had a flash moment in his brain that went something like "Jesus Christ your shirt is like a used dish rag!!"
I actually own the DVD of this special, and this version is just so much better. the photos and extra clips just add and explain the jokes so well. Especially for folks that don't live in the UK and don't get the local references.
I really enjoy his comedy. Along with Dylan Moran, and the unforgettable Master of mirth Dave Allen - I never missed any of Dave’s shows, however I do miss him. RIP and May your God go with you!
I like clips cut in with stand up. To me its like when Podcasts like RoosterTeeth or Joe Rogan Experience and some unofficial uploads of Welcome to Night Vale are animated or include some visuals. It just adds a further layer of context to what you listen to.
I think this one and the Metal Gear Solid one are my two favourites. They never get old. I've never seen 2012, but would actually pay to see the Tequila version.
For some reason I thought the cause in 2012 was the reversal of earth's magnetic poles. Dara is correct that it was purely a McGuffin (sp?) and was never referenced by anyone again in the storyline. The queen and her corgis were portrayed in the film but not any UK lava that I recall.
I actually realised that I watched this movie. I've forgotten every scene except the ending part. That's how memorable it was, and I only remember the end because I was like "Well if this was just some random apocalypse that came out of nowhere, how have they planned for something like it with technology that looks futuristic..
The producers 9f this movie are uacks that is true. But they have one habit for which I am always grateful. Every movie they release is advertised with the words, "From the makers of Independence Day". Oh thank you for thatm Now I can ensure I nevet watch it. Tjey do us all a public service.
He had those sleeves under his jacket for the entire show
I had this exact thought!! How silly! How awful to be dying of heat but you can't take off your jacket because of the final joke. It's gonna pay off to sweat to death.
And it did. He's amazing lol.
With any sense, he probably changed his shirt in the interval
He’s prepared to suffer for our pleasure.
THE ELECTRONS ARE ANGRY
WateverWatever04 or The light from the sun.....😷💩🌞...it's gone off
This is ELECTRONA!
I'm dead.
This man did his whole set with that shirt underneath just for that last bit. What a legend!
Imagine if he managed to get Gloria estefan, ricky martin and a mariachi band for the end as well
Holy crap I would PAY to see an English/British audience observing a mariachi band for the first time!
It takes a really genuinely nice person, to take the pi** out of themselves in front of an entire theatre audience, even though they are an international film star, millionaire and model.
Everyone would lose their minds

I don't even fucking know anymore man.
@@shane7615 still in 2020 but wanted to say exactly that but you had to go and steal it :P

The Bollywood pose, wink and Indian accent was the cherry on top of an amazing cake

@@GeneralAblon true ! That was one of the GI Joe movies !

GrandSupremeDaddyo San andreas, yellowstone, Russian cargo plane, Mt. Everest, yep pretty much sums it up
And all with the help of Oliver Platt, THE BIGGEST ACTOR IN THE WORLD!!!
Yeah, i really enjoyed it as well. It was over the top and a bit silly but still fun to watch.
Read this in Jeremy Clarkson's voice
I'm going to have to change my DePends, you made me genuinely piss myself laughing. THE BIGGEST PISS IN THE WORLD!!!!! I'm 6'3'' 330lbs, Bigg Piss
I love his idea about the dvd extra. My mom loved 2012. I had to pause the movie so she could stop laughing enough to breath. She bounced up and down, laughing, and pounding the seat next to her.
Now I want a shot for shot remake of the new movie
Brilliantly Edited. It took me a moment to click that the movie clips couldn't have been on Dara's DVD.
The editing ruined it, but at least I got to see the part I wanted to show my colleague, who just watched 2012, and HATED IT!
Dara O'Briain would be great at Cinemasins.
hahaha
Ding!
hakairyu1 cinemasins isn't really about faults in movies anymore though
Nah, O'Briain is funny
Expect Dara is actually funny. Cinemasins is not.
4:11 “the electrons… are ANGRY” never fails to make me laugh 😂😂
Please someone make a movie where the Latinos have mutated.
Asylum are probably making it at this moment.
Haha !
No need for a movie. The Latinos have actually mutated. That's how they became Latinos in the first place.
Attack of the Killer Latinos!
Actually, I think that plays on Fox News every single day.
@@ErwinPommel
Still relevant
brilliant, love the added visual aides.
This ^
Picturing visual aides is too funny, now.
Love that jimmy looked like he was really enjoying the bit lmao
Jesus, he managed to make the two most boring hours I've waisted ever, actually worth it... that's talent!
Could have learnt to spell "wasted".
You could have learnt how to construct a sentence correctly.
N'aw, 2012 is one of my favourite films. It's so insane, nothing makes sense, it's great fun to pick apart or just to laugh at it.
One word SHARKNADOO!! I WANT THAT TIME BACK!!!
@@Hellwyck Could have learnt that punctuation goes inside speech marks.

I’m currently learning about Neutrinos at school and I can’t stop thinking about this
I'm a fan of the extra clips, you are a good person

That was HILARIOUS!!! I particularly liked the visuals. 👍👍👍👌👌👌🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Dara has a degreeon theoretical physics so you know he's not just bulshitting LOL
The best finale of any comedy show ever.
Nice video work there!
Do ya think when Jimmy hugged Dara at the end he had a flash moment in his brain that went something like "Jesus Christ your shirt is like a used dish rag!!"
This may be my all time favorite bit by Dara Obriain. Oooh, so sciency!
Whenever I'm feeling down, I watch this video.
This is just so good I have seen it several times every time I need a pick me up this is a great routine.
I was fucking crying at the Trafalgar Square and angry electron jokes 😂😂
Dara's first 3 DVDs were brilliant. I used to watch them ten years ago before I went out on a Saturday night.
I want a Bollywood version of 2012 now.
Is his movie called " Two Thousand and Juan "?
A Siesta Odyssey
🤣🤣🤣
I've not seen this version with Jimi Mistry in the end. Soooo good.
PapaQ this is on the DVD

The captions and cutaways really worked for this video, your work is appreciated
My favorite bit of technobable is "Take a Mobius strip and invert it."
I've seen this part countless times but the added edits were absolutely brilliant.
I really enjoy his comedy. Along with Dylan Moran, and the unforgettable Master of mirth Dave Allen - I never missed any of Dave’s shows, however I do miss him. RIP and May your God go with you!
This was great, especially with the edits
You're a legend for editing this.
"The light from the sun, it's gone off!"

Speaking of which, I'd love to see this guy from 2012 play Carlos :)
The edits make me wish all stand up was like this.
I'm sad I came upon this so late but an absolute gut buster lol
This has got to be the best video out there for this skit.
I like how you edited in the clips!
Love the added visuals. Very WillNE
In defense of American movies, The Day After Tomorrow did show England freeze up. In general he is correct though. Funny fella...
It is kinda his job so i'd hope so.
The Day After Tomorrow also had an explanation for what was happening that wasn't completely bonkers
Oddly, same film maker...
What a bit. What a showman. Unique and brilliant.
Thing is, though, Dara is right. We Latinos HAVE mutated, and we ARE heating up the planet... for the better. ;)
I guess that's why the top half of his white shirt was transparent.... lol, I love this Irishman, Slante!
Fantastic, I´m so loving this guy !!!! Hahahahahah
Jusr watched the original and you did a really great job. Well done, thank you.
Beautifully done. Thanks.

What a fantastic gag setup! Well played Dara!
I just found this video. Best I've seen in a long time! Really funny! Thanx!
This is going to completely change the movie for me the next time I watch it.
That was awesome. Really added to the humor.
5/10 for content. 100000/100000 for commitment to the gag.
This was really well done.
This will never not make me laugh XD I love it!
This edit was great.
I was at this show :)
I don't mean to show off but...I got the DVD for just 10 bob from the Dougy Mac.

That editing though...
