For those who don't know, you want to cap your fps to a number just below the average framerate it would normally get while playing the game. The reason is that it can save resources and allocate them to the game in case something happens that requires extra computing power meaning you won't stutter and drop frames as much. Playing on uncapped or way higher above your average means that you're always running at max power and when something happens that needs more resources from your pc, you drop frames and that's usually when your game starts feeling rough and not smooth.
I feel like pros over exaggerate 60fps. As a PlayStation player, 60fps isn’t even that bad, pc players just overreact and say “it’s so bad I can’t barely pick up weapons” when it’s literally normal frames for us
So... I guess I'll explain. When I first got my pc and I saw 120 hz for the first time, I thought to myself "Wow, this is so smooth." But over time it just started to feel normal. When I decided to switch back to 60 hz, it felt really jaggedy. Yeah, pros say it's unplayable and they're kinda right. But all they really have to do is get used to playing on 60 hz and it'll work itself out.
The nintendo switch has a small screen, while lachlan has a full sized monitor. So while the resolution would technically be the same, the switch would have a much higher ppi at 720p compared to lachlans monitor. Not only that, but if he is using a 1080p monitor (im not sure what he uses so im including this just in case), you would have a really weird ratio to downsample by, causing the theoretical pixel pitch of the 1080p downsampled 720p to vary, causing an even worse image. Obv that wouldnt be a problem if he uses a 1440p monitor but again idk if he uses 1080p or 1440p
As a switch player since chapter 1 season 4 and still going, it’s nice hearing a pc player actually say that we deserve respect, especially since nowadays my switch typically maxes at 20fps
its bc its what your used to. If you play on higer frames and get used to it going down feels like playing in half speed basically. Thats how it feels when i play on 120fps then turn it to 60. The thinga you were able to do comfortably on 120 you cant do on half the frames
The human eye thing isn’t true when it comes to gaming and stuff, that 66.5 fps you say is irl and physical things moving irl, on a gaming monitor that has say 360hz will most definitely feel smoother and give you a slight competitive advantage
I respect all switch players because some are good and they play on thirty frames. I tried it once and it is actually so insanely hard. For Context: I’m a 360 fps pc player.
I am a cracked switch player. I have gotten diamond and elite every season and yes I can confirm this is the gameplay I also have gotten already over 30 wins this season but it is so difficult
I saw that Lachlan was still friends with sync when he died in the first game, and that makes me happy that there still friends hope he joins back soon. Lachlan let Sync join back you can clearly tell hes change since back then, and can tell that he is truly sorry for what he said and not just have some fake apology.Hope you read this😄
I am glad you did this video, because I play on a switch and its hard do good when your running a solid 30 fps, its hard to aim, build and edit, that is why i am glad you made this video so people can see how hard it is to play on switch.
i used to play on switch and i hit diamond 1 but now that i play on ps5 it feels not a lot better but my nintendo is 6-7 years old i could also do triple edits
I always hated when people say "there's no point in getting more frames because they can only see up to like 60fps anyways" because they clearly don't understand it
I'll say that for watching something the difference between 60fps and higher wouldn't be noticeable but when you're playing a game and really focusing it would probably be different
The human eye can see infinite fps, if you compare 60fps and 120fps side to side there is a difference (if you dont believe me there are videos, look them up), and life is IN infinite fps, there are no frames irl, yes to the human eye 60 fps is "smooth animation" but the more frames you have, the better advantage you have above other players, also when you get a new pc always make sure to go into settings and change your max fps (of the monitor you have) in the settings of your pc, otherwise you will be at the defult 60 fps no matter what setting you change in a game
Fr 30 fps is normal to me, been playing on switch for so long and won a game of champion ranked with it, it is difficult and it is hard, but its normal for me and im guessing others too
If you didn't notice a difference the whole video, sometimes TH-cam renders videos below 720 or even 1080p at 30 fps, which is the lowest in the video. If you go into your settings and change it to 720p60 or any number with "60" after the p, you'll notice a difference
Lachy complaing that its so laggy on 60 fps😤 Me on my switch on 30 fps with a peak rank of plat 2 😃 Me chilling at a steady 17 fps on mobile with a peak rank of diamond 1 and not complaning 🗿
as a top level player with a crapy pc, yes, frames do win games, i get like 120 on average but i get massive lag spikes every few seconds where i cant move or my frames dip to 0 and every now and then i will straight up lag out cause my pc cant handle the loads from the game, and after having fortnite open but not playing a game for longer than 30 minutes ill have to restart cause then ill have a match where ill lag the entire time on 500+ ping and 10 fps max, and to people who say dont blame your system or wifi for losing, i absolutely can cause i almost always lose cause of it, i have to play in a specific way to try and predict when ill lag so i dont die, and i still get unreal every season
Let me explain. The avergae human sees about 38 fps more or less. But your fps is mainly depended on your monitor, because if you have a 70 Hz monitor you'll get a max of 70 fps, if it shows you are getting 300 fps, it only means your pc can handle 300 fps, but if you only have a 60 or 120 or 70 Hz, you will only get that refresh rate.
You might not be able to really see FPS higher than 60, but really it's the motion which feels smoother and your brain definitely registers that. Ask any normal human if they can tell the difference between 60 and 120 and they definitely will.
30fps is playable on switch because the screen is slot smaller than a monitor so you only need 30fps on switch for it to look like a 30 inch monitor with 360 fps
I play on my school laptop with my fps fluctuating from 0 fps to 60. I play with my little brother and one of my best friends. They are equally as laggy, and we have won back to back games. Once we won 3 in a row. Very rare occurrences but still. On average, 30 fps isn't actually that bad.
At 9:24 of the video, i thought it was a something that only happened to me but that weird one shot lag bug happens to everyone else's too. Also, squad can be very very laggy

iam playing on pc and i play on 60 fps
Fr
Bro I play on 2 fps on pc
bro says he is "literally blind" playing the game at the exact same frames that we're watching it at
I was so worried cause there was like 10 people around ahaha
should've fully embraced "Switch Mode" and also dropped your resolution to 720p lol
The nintendo switch has a small screen, while lachlan has a full sized monitor. So while the resolution would technically be the same, the switch would have a much higher ppi at 720p compared to lachlans monitor. Yea
And get the joycons
Any switch player that is even halfway decent deserves a lot of respect.
Thanks

Thank you

the legends who became cracked on switch

Always found it funny how the only thing that can run insane FPS is the only one able to use performance mode 😂
Lacky saying 165 fps is bad me chilling with 60
Nahh ur lucky I be in 30 fps💀
same
Boi shut up I’m on 30
@@Thereapergoat30 is honestly fine for me as long as it’s a consistent 30.
Low consistency beats high inconsistency any day for me.
I’m at 60 I think 💭
Hearing lachy complain about 60fps meanwhile thats near what I typically play on

I don’t know how but my Xbox gets 40

no its true but the fps your eye can see verys around 60 and we can kinda train it to be better but not like your gonna see 80 fps.
pretty sure humans can see over 500 hz
Finally Lachy knows the struggles of playing on Switch and getting 30fps
But the switch doesn't get 30 anymore it's a average of 27.3 and it drops to 10 so much
Lachlan new idea 1v1 on every FPS
Finally someone respects us Switch players
Yes 30 fps is terrifying on switch lol 😂
But I’m also elite. You should do a challenge on switch thx for amazing vids Lachy
Im elite to and I’m playing on the switch lite
@@Goofy-King69 dang nice 👍
As a switch player I understand your frustration

the best part of the switch is that the internet connection is also worse on average, so try that with a fair amount of packet loss lmao

It’s true if you have more fps your command renders faster causing you to have less delay and edit faster and shoot faster
Let me explain. The avergae human sees about 38 fps more or less. Me playing on my laptop at 1080p: Wow my graphics are good today!
Since switching from 90-120 on ps5 the game instantly felt better but 60-90 isn’t actually as bad as pc players make it out to be
10:26 bro started singing carnival lol
All he said was go go go
You might not be able to really see FPS higher than 60, but really it's the motion which feels smoother and your brain definitely registers that. Ask any normal human if they can tell the difference between 60 and 120 and they definitely will.
The Average human eye can see between 60 and 90 fps but a research discovered that gamers gain the ability to see way more fps than average
I don’t know if i should be proud or not about the fact that I only play fortnight on switch
As a PC player, I like it locked at 60fps, I'm used to it, and my monitor only does 72hz.

30fps is playable on switch because the screen is slot smaller than a monitor so you only need 30fps on switch for it to look like a 30 inch monitor with 360 fps
I play on switch max I get is 60fps. Lowest I have seen it is 2fps!
Us switch players just turn the brightness on the switch all the way down so it just distracts us from the fps.
Love your video Lachlan and keep up the great work you are awesome

Been loving the great content lately Lachlan! Always been huge inspiration to me ❤🔥
I play on 60 fps if I am lucky normally 30 or under

No way bro has a 4500 dollar gaming pc and only has a 165 hz monitor and play fartnite on preformence mode
People who play on switch and are not absolute bots
I didn't even know that Nintendo Switch players played on 30fps. Honestly, as a switch player, I don't find it that bad.
I could definitely see the difference between the highest fps and 30
Lachlan should get to unreal on 60 fps to emphasize for PS5 players

I play on Switch and would love to play a game with you
