    Jrose: "I don't have the patience for a Nuzlocke"
    Also Jrose: "I'm going to beat every Pokemon game with only a physical Abra and no items in battle".

    • @DemonicAkumi
      @DemonicAkumi 9 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +31

      To be fair, there's a difference in patience in grinding and a patience in trying to do every calculation you can beforehand on what you're going to do and plan to make sure crucial members don't faint on you that you can't use later down the road to potentially completely kill a run.
      If the Abra have an issue of progressing, you don't have to start completely from scratch if it dies and just have to think of another way to overcome and clearly to grind.
      There's 2 different kind of patiences there.
      I'd rather level a Bulbasaur into a Venusaur in Route 1 than to do a Nuzlocke.

    • @amak1131
      @amak1131 8 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +14

      Grinding a single pokemon is work, but you don't always have the risk of a bad fight completely killing a run. That right there is an easy way to just completely kill motivation vs. trying your best and realizing a single mon run just isn't feasible.

      With abra, you know what you’re going tk have to do from the start. With a nuzlocke, 1 mistake can add dozens of hours in a game like hgss 😂

    Poison is kind of the best for a type themed nuzlocke run, with the sheer variety of dual types. I’ve always enjoyed my poison team runs had a good one in fire red.
    Very much enjoyed this upload!
    It’s comforting to watch creativity in these old games continue from our childhood. In a few months I’ll be 32 and life has so many unexpected twists and turns. This kind of thing is a comforting antidote.

    Doing a mono-type challenge in Crystal with Water-types should be relatively easy since you'll have a lot of them to work with. Your encounter routing shouldn't be too bad, either, should you choose to play it as a Nuzlocke.
    As for a Bug-type run with only Johto Bug-types, doing it as a Nuzlocke would be a _terrible_ idea, but I know it should be possible. Ledian and Yanma probably wouldn't be of much help, but Forretress, Shuckle, Heracross, and Ariados should be able to defeat Lance and Red together.

    I feel like level capping was what the devs had in mind all along but didn't want the game to be too hard for children. You can really see what they were going for in their game and it's pretty masterful game design with coverage, useful utility moves, and annoying healing loops. I love watching Nuzlocke content for that very reason. You get to see the true beautiful game design of Pokémon games.

    Most nuzlockers allow leveling past a leader's ace once the battle has started. Some even edge their mons to guarantee at least one level up during the battle. Your run, your rules though.

    I still think not using candies to level up is simply a time waster, I understand that pkm can faint if you mess up but you can always farm the earliest grass, it takes forever but you'll never faint.
    And your Pokémon dies because you didn't farm enough is hardly relevant to the strategy/luck you need to beat a nuzlock.
    Plus you do have the absolute level cap restrictions, so mistakes in planning could happen if you didn't ev train before candies

    Nuzlockes aren’t fun anyway. There are other ways to make the game more challenging without being that brutal. I always do these things, set a level cap for every gym/elite 4. Usually it’s never go higher than the “ace” of the team you are battling. Also I set the battle mode to SET and I don’t use items in battle. It makes it more challenging without being absurd.

    I wouldnt doubt poison is good. That's because its one of the most common types in gen 1 and 2. Then gamefreak made a change in their design, and its now one of the rarest types.
