Panta Buri loved her panta rice, but a thief kept stealing it! Fuming, she marched to the king, but he wouldn't listen. On her way home, she collected a strange bunch: a spiky fish, a lonely granny, a noisy bell, and even a lump of dung!
Back home, Panta Buri hid the spiky fish in her panta, the granny by the fire, the bell by the pot, and the dung...well, outside. That night, the thief arrived. He grabbed the panta, but the spiky fish surprised him! He jumped back, burning himself on the hot stove, then stumbled into the smelly dung.
The villagers heard the commotion and caught the thief, red-handed (well, dung-covered). With the spiky fish as proof, the thief confessed. From then on, Panta Buri's panta remained safe, thanks to her clever plan!
18:00 Second story:
In a rural village, a stooped elderly woman with her two canine companions, Ranga and Bhanga, embarks on a journey to visit her grandson. Aware of the dangers lurking in the forest, she employs a clever strategy. Along the path, she encounters a cunning fox, a ferocious tiger, and a formidable jackal. Each predator, enticed by the prospect of a future feast, is strategically outsmarted by the woman's promise of being fatter upon her return. Arriving at her destination, she is generously fed by her loving grandchild, achieving the promised weight gain.
However, the return journey presents a new challenge. Fearing the waiting predators, the resourceful granddaughter devises a plan. She conceals her grandmother within a large gourd, then ingeniously propels it down the path like a rolling carriage. Each predator, in turn, encounters the gourd and, believing it to contain a succulent meal, pushes it onward, eager to claim their prize. Finally, the cunning fox peeks inside, only to be met with a song and the swift arrival of the woman's loyal dogs. The startled fox is punished for his greed, and the woman reaches her home safely.
35:30 Third story:
Pakku, a thieving fox, plagued a village by stealing their chickens. Frustrated, the villagers sought a solution. Overhearing them, a nearby fox laughed and boasted of stealing from the chief's house that very night.
However, the village had set a trap! The fox, wary of open coops, went house-to-house only to find them all open. Finally, at the old woman's house, the only coop had a plant blocking the entrance. The fox, desperate, tried squeezing through the plant, getting painfully stuck. The old woman, seizing the opportunity, whacked the fox with a stick, severing its tail. Humiliated and injured, the thieving fox was never seen again in the village.
