metal strip came from engine 1 from the Continental airlines DC-10, not its landing gear
That metal strip didn't come off the landing gear it came off engine 1
This really shows how even when not flying in the DC-10 you can still die when near it
the metal strip that hit Concorde tire was from the engine of the DC-10, not the wheel bogey.

@Adam WolfGaming the metal strip - a wear-strip or an accompanying backplate from the fan thrust-reverser mechanism on one of the DC-10's engines - came from an aircraft which departed Paris two take-offs before Concorde.
Muhammad Rafiq Danial Norhisham Correct. The metal strip made contact with the tires and sent a piece of the tire which slammed into engine 2. However there were other factors. The maintenance crew didn’t put in a spacer which made the left gear undercarriage very wobbly. The airplane was overweight. There was a one hour delay due to maintenance. There was also supposed to be a runway check for debris. Even though it was mandatory i could guess Charles de gaulle airport didn’t do this due the one our delay i mentioned earlier.

yes it did, I watch Air Crash Investigation every day, so when I watched the Concorde crash investigaion, it said the metal strip came from the engine of a DC-10.

The DC-10 is 23 years old due to improper maintinace the concorde tires is been popped and struck a wire in the landing gear and they can't pull the tires and a spark + jet fuel is a disaster

The metal part has to hit the fuel tank not the engine
It must have messed something up in the mechanical parts of the engine . Or the fuel tank was located there. I know a decent amount about aviation but not the Concorde.

@@Hektore894 While taking off from Charles de Gaulle Airport, the aircraft ran over debris on the runway, causing a tyre to blow up and disintegrate. Tyre fragments, flung by the rapidly spinning wheel, violently struck the underside of the wing, damaging parts of the landing gear - thus preventing its retraction - and causing the integral fuel tank to rupture. Large amounts of fuel leaking from the rupture ignited, causing a loss of thrust in the left-hand-side engines 1 and 2. The aircraft lifted off, but the loss of thrust, high drag from the extended landing gear, and fire damage to the flight controls made it impossible to maintain control.
(and also, the fuel going in front on the engine ignited a fire, which is why engine 2 was ablaze)
