@@dawnchoruswrites-miraculous I woke up rather early today to take care of my dog, but… going to bed in the am and waking up less than five hours later is not smart.
Anyways, I can’t believe I missed such a great story premiere! It was amazing, I love the little details, even Adrien worrying about Marinette being akumatized!

You know I've been wondering....do you two write from your personal feelings/ experience?
I ask because you write them with such a sweet innocent love very close to what I see in the original characters. I've read stories stories where Adrien is either portraited as a rich bad boy or a broken, emotionally dependant mess.
( Grrr His character shows greater strength than that)
And Marinette, she's eithera clueless nirotic or a self involved witch. Thank you for your style!
I believe that their innocence is part of their characters and should be portrayed as such and, yes, I do write from my personal experience. I identify with both Marinette and Adrien in different ways and it makes it easy to write them. However, I do think that there is a lot of background emotional stuff that isn't covered in the show and fan fiction writers tends to be either downplay it because it is a show for kids or it overplay it for the shock factor - the example of Adrien's emotional state being the most obvious. In my head canon, he does have a deep seated need for affection and love and this comes out in being rather touch starved, overeager to please, and afraid of not being good enough. All of these things would explain Adrien's progression from wanting to be friendly/friends with Marinette to developing feelings for her as well as his deep desire to have someone (aka Ladybug) love the side of him that he gets to control. Writing them as struggling, worried, slightly broken, stressed out, but otherwise heart-whole people can be a challenge, but it reminds me that I don't have to be perfect myself to be loved, wanted or appreciated.

@@jheqiawrites4985 I also relate to a character...Adrien. To me his strength comes from a low burning anger at his personal treatment and the unfairness of it.
He just wants to right the wrongs he sees, but knows the helplessness of his position.
Chat Noir becomes his strength and outlet.

I think Adrien's growth as a character stems from his recognition that he doesn't have to accept things the way they are, that he can make his own decisions and face the consequences, and that he isn't trapped and alone anymore. There can be anger, sorrow, righteous indignation, and hurt, but also love, comfort, support, strength, and hope out of such circumstances. Adrien is my favorite to write because his potential complexity and pureness of heart!
