The engineer will only place down turrets outside of its default range if you buy the range upgrade first and then buy the turrets to allow them to be placed in all of the range.

Also with the different types of turrets it places the ices ones for all the pink balloons which is why when the Moab ones came out you had only ice, it places the turret most effective against the balloon probably closest to it or furthest on the map.
They also added a in a recent update that by default the engineer puts the turrets close to the track, so it might be that with whatever they use to inform that turret placement goes to the closest amount of track as well

Not selling turrets because "This is a stupid strategy 13:55" is similar to "Buying Geraldo's shop buffs is a stupid strategy, because those are not permanent buffs."

For example, Geraldo's creepy idols at tier 2 which apply explosive coating on surrounding moabs, or sentry champion turrets which explode. You can sell both of them even in Chimps. Check it yourself. Additionally you can sell some sub towers like marine of mid path heli. But I'm not sure if that's intentional or a missed bug nobody cares to fix.
sentry expertise turrets are not randomly placed, he put ice turrets fot fast bloons, crush turrets for high life bloons(i think that i realy dont remember), laser turrets for moabs and explosive turrets for leads

I know you tried that a while ago, but recent updates made that basically trivial. It’s possible to make it at least a little bit of a challenge if you try to do it as a 2 mega pops as well.
I tried this a few months back and its possible to switch the build order, got CTA on round 54 and then Sentry champion later. But getting Sentry Champion first is far smoother. Good video :D
There's honestly little reason not to spam Homeland with the Sentry Champion. Even in the downtime, there's still more sentries still on the ground and dealing more damage than the Sentry Champion normally would. Essentially, Homeland lasts beyond its effect with this tower.
Primary expertise would have been a lot less fun. It is possible and has been done on this map. (You can check the index). But it’s so much less interesting, since this is a 2tc, but also a 2 mega pops, and also a 1 tower all pops challenge. It’s a 3 for 1. (Ok, all All Pops challenges, are 2 mega pops challenges as well, obviously, but still)

I actually just did this exact 2tc like 3 days ago, except I put the engineer at the top of the row of cars on the left side, right between the entrance than that loop. (Just above the hood of the car) That was my first choice and I have to say, that was a god spot. I only had to retry rounds twice before getting the sentry champion, and then I never needed to use call to arms at all. I saved for homeland defence without using call to arms, and I didn’t even need homeland defence until round 94. Round 98 was tough, took me about 10 tries to beat with while having homeland defence off cooldown for 99, although I realized that wasn’t necessary at all as, even half cool down going into 99 would have been fine. Then 99 and 100 were trivial.

This was fixed in v43 where they changed sentry spawn location iirc

I love the sentry champion. With buffs late game he somehow is even stronger then the engineer paragon too which is crazy.
