Thanks so much for the show, Norm. No good having those Critters working your line and eating your fur. I had a bear that was starting to work my line, but i caught him in a 160 Belisle on the snout. I put him down with the 22 Mag. Always an adventure on the line! Take care Brother.
Thanks again Norm you are greatly appreciated for bringing us along for these stunningly beautiful Adventures. You are a special friend even though we live so far apart. Larry
Nice to see you out on the line, Norm. It always amazes me the type of habitat that marten live in . In your area they live in areas that are more open, in my area they want the thickest bush they can find and avoid the open areas. Love you channel keep up the good work thanks.
Norm you inspire me. Not only are you bold enough to venture out on your own in that kind of cold to check and set traps ......... You take the time to setup and video the process of what you do. Hats off to you for the effort you put into taking us along on your journey. Very well done !!
Very welcome and its a challenge at times but fun. For every shot I take only a few seconds are used. I want the best for you guys, by no means am I a pro, just doing my best. Thanks for the kind words once again Mr.
Norm, we do this in the summer but in may work for you on the front door deck (or take home for the summer). Need a heavy duty BLACK construction trash bag, at least 1/2 gal of ammonia and sun light. Place the stove top in the bag, add the ammonia then trap some air in the bag and seal it tight. Allow the bag to sit in the sunlight for most of the day, it should puff up a bit as the ammonia makes a bit of gas. The ammonia gas will loosen the crud so it can be cleaned off. Throw your grill grates in as well. We have cleaned this way for many years now and it works like you won't believe.
Absolutely beautiful! Thanks for another weekly outing, Norm. A chunk of metal lathe coiling , vinegar, not too much of a heavy hand and maybe a good hockey game to watch might take that crud off for ya. See you next week buddy. :>)
Great way to start my morning, watching a True North video and coffee and Bailey’s. ❤ Chunky monkey gorgeous red fox! Beautiful northern lights thanks for sharing. That’s cold especially handling metal.
I didn’t complain why my hands are really cold. It’s setting up the camera 😆 I have to be quick but not on that shot I wasn’t. I wasn’t happy with the angle and changed it up.
Good morning Norm from Vancouver Island. Wow chilly days up at your cabin. Lovely video!! I second the Dawn Powerwash on your stovetop. That stuff works really well getting off baked on things.
I appreciate the effort you make it getting some really amazing scenic footage. It’s a beautiful and brutal world up there. Many thanks and take care, Norm. From a very balmy (in comparison) Cornwall, UK 🇬🇧
Man that was a big, gorgeous red fox! It's a shame that silver fox was devoured, that would have been a gorgeous fur. Another very enjoyable video Norm! p.s. (SOS pads & a bit of hot water work well to clean crusty stove tops. Good for removing any rust as well.) Not even a frost here in Vancouver so far this winter, makes for lousy skiing! Cheers!
Hey Norm. I really appreciate you posting up your adventures! I guess for you it's just life, but for many of us, your life is an adventure we'll never live. I've seen those tracks before when I lived in the NWT... definitely caribou and exactly how you described their gait.👌🏼
Really liked this one Norm !!……..beautiful scenery, this one had it all. Was so glad to see another video of your “life” out there. Take care my friend ! Dave
As fellow Northerns we agree those are caribou tracks. Also the Silky saw works great. Used one last the weekend clearing trail, faster, safer than an axe on our heavy weighed down bush covering the trails. Chuck at Everything Outdoors just got one too. Lol Great job on the video.
@@wbirch4028 Totally agree it’s a caribou. The saw is a great idea and I have been thinking of one for a bit but I also was thinking of a mini battery chain saw. See where it goes. Thanks Birch
Hi Norm, I really appreciate your efforts in putting these videos together, thanks. The northern light pics are awesome.Maybe try some easy off oven cleaner on that range top. Also, a suggestion for carrying a pair of loppers for clear willows up to an 1-1/2 diameter .Stay warm and safe out there.
Thanks for the videos Norm, I know a lot of work goes into them, looks like we have some good luck on our side so far this year and yeah those are some odd tracks for sure but I think your right they are likely caribou tracks,, stay safe and warm
Ya ever think of putting some studs in the snowmobile for the ice and low snow conditions. Just enough for trail control. One of my sleds has them and i am installing traction screws in the other for ice conditions
Hey buddy nice catch to bad that wolverine got a gead of you. Hopefully his time will come👍 are you going to able to do something with the Marten tail or was it to mangled? And it was nice to see the tent frame ❤ and not eagnuf snow in some places to get up the embankments a shovel and snow wood fix that but when there isn't alot of snow well 🤷 stay safe and warm Norm 👍 from Northern Ontario
Norm, My Grandmothers gas stove use to have small burner pans she made out of mini aluminum pie pans...she would alway have a stack in her pantry because like you, the burner deck always was a pain to keep clean. Aluminum Foil might help you keep the area easier to clean up....or just some gas stove spray paint you use when needed...like " Touch Up Stove Paint"...
Great West Metal went under so take care of your airtights !!! When i found out i bought a couple of extras that i found online. Hope everything is well for you. Glad that the Starlink is working out for you, it's awesome being connected. Take care Norm.
Hello a small electric chainsaw is awesome for those little trees you are using an axe on they are cheap cheap also i use the one that takes dewalt batteries cause my tools are all dewalt multi uses for them love your show and the tea lol
Time to get the duct tape and recondition the boot liners.. Appliance paint will work on the stove or leave it alone works too. I'm freezing cold just watching you.
I find myself thinking about the effort involved in some of your shots … you should have alot more subs . Thanks for your efforts . Would you have a hook up for fur hats made with your furs ?
