2014 6MT with the stage 1 IE tune, had it for 30k miles, I love it. Biggest change in driving character to me was at the top end, as you see nicely on your dyno charts! Used to feel kinda gutless after 5,750 or so. Now it pulls like hell all the way to 7,200
Awesome video. Just discovered your channel days before buying my first Audi - b8.5 s4. Did you end up fixing the mech and if so, how much did it cost you? Sorry if you answered this in another video. Thanks!
Very informative video man, thanks! I have an IE stage 1 tune for my C7 A6 waiting to be uploaded later this week & this video has got me excited. Should pair well with my tcu tune. Can you give a little more info & perhaps link to where you purchased that ethanol sensor & mount? thanks!
Great video and super informative. Wish the tuners would put out content like this. Question- It sounds like you’re aiming for ~E18 to get the best runs. What is your ratio of Gasoline to E85 when you fill your tank? Or how many gallons/liters of gasoline and E85 are you putting in at each fill up to get the magic number? Thanks for all this experimenting to figure this stuff out for the rest of us 😁
There are a ton of E85 calculators online that you can use to figure out your blend. There are even apps that you can download on your phone to figure out the mix. I aim between E15 and E20 in my cars when running a pump gas tune.
New viewer here and fellow vancouverite. Great content! I watched your fuel comparison video. If I tune my b8.5 s5 to stage 1 91, should I be using chevron 91 or 94? Asking because Washington chevron 92 is supposedly better than our chevron 94 per your video?
First off, if you watched my fuel comparison videos you woud already know the answer to the Chevron 94 VS Washington State 92, haha. Secondly, if you don't want to blend ethanol into your fuel I only suggest Vancouverites use Stage 1 - 91 octane tunes and run Chevron 94. I've seen too many tuned engines let go due to our poor fuel quality. Thanks for watching!
Vancity Audi this seams crank hp now... no way it’s whp...this car has around 18% loss with Quattro and S-Tronic In your video it says “engine power and Engine torque” which means crank hp Last video 288whp +18% loss = 339hp at the crank - that’s the right number in my opinion
@@GolfGTIStyle I agree that the numbers are inflated and read high. According to Racing Greed these are wheel horsepower numbers though with their Dynojet conversion. BTW where do you get an 18% drivetrain loss from? That seems insanely high for a modern car. I know I'm new to this platform but the absolute most I can see it being is 15% and I don't even think it is that high. I managed 294whp from just the Mustang number in my previous video. If you add 13% to that I'm making 332hp at the crank. For a 8 year old car that seems to make perfect sense to me.
@@GolfGTIStyle I wonder where all those people on the forums have come up with those numbers seeing as my Mustang dyno numbers say otherwise. Thanks for letting me know
My take-away is that it's really about the fuel and how well the engine responds, regardless of the numbers. I have a Genesis G70 3.3T and would be really curious to see how it runs with an ethanol blend. Where do you buy ethanol in Canada?
Those are great numbers! I'd be curious what the WHP would have been for Stag 1 (91) on Chevron 94 without the ethanol blend as that's most likely what I'll run when I finally do the tune.
Great video as always! I did a data log run on 92 with the IE stage 1 91 tune. Pulled very little timing at a max of 2ish degrees on 2 or 3 cylinders. (Have to go back and look again) You got me wondering if I could use 91-92 with a little added ethanol and run the stage 1 93 octane fill.
You 100% can run the IE Stage 1 - 93 tune using 92 pump and additional ethanol. I've done it before in 2 of my other Audi's. The key is the log the heck out of it before and after and only add in small amounts of ethanol inbetweem runs to find that perfect blend.
Sadly I didn't start this build with Mustang dyno numbers. The very next video and moving forward with the rest of the build I did though: th-cam.com/video/F0yOw6dDwV0/w-d-xo.html
For the numbers themselves, yes, I believe they are inflated. Luckily all I care about is the delta aka the difference between my baseline runs and the final runs I do after the modification. That number is accurate no matter how you read the dyno and is one hell of a gain
You keep talking about wheel horsepower but giving crank numbers , there is no B8 S4 in the world that runs 329 WHP stock, also the very BEST you are going to get from just a tune and no pulley change is 415-420 crank bhp.
As I explained in this video I am presenting you the Dynojet calibrated wheel horsepower numbers from this Mustang dyno. The guys here at Racing Greed have come up with the calibration over their many years of operation. I TOTALLY agree with you that it reads high but that isn't what I'm looking at or care about to be honest, haha. Just look at the gain that I made from one run to the next. That is the important figure, the delta. That and 1/4 mile trap speed are the numbers I actually care about. Hope that helps
@@VancityAudi I think you misunderstand me, the actual numbers are fine - 415 for a stage 1 tune is about right for a crank figure, just way too high for wheel figure.
@@TacPrecision I understood haha. Racing Greed considers these numbers to be wheel horsepower though. They are inflated and closer to the crank horsepower. I am on the same page as you with that.
@@LtRoastAhoe thank you very much. I couldn't care less about my peak power and what that says, haha. All I care about is the delta or the difference before and after the modification I've made. In this case it was awesome
I ended up having to go with Unitronic 2+ because for whatever reason the dual pulley (stage 3) tune wasn't showing for my car and would have to be sorted out on their end. That was months ago, I really should follow up. The shop said IE didn't have a dual pulley tune for the C6A6.

I put on the ECS tuning stage 2 single pulley on my supercharger. Did everything according to the instructions. Pulley went on great. Cooled down I put the belt on put everything back together tuned the ECU and tcu with IE and went for a drive home. ON THE DRIVE HOME THE PULLEY FROM ECS FLEW OFF!! Apparently... they manufactured the pulley wrong the bore on the pulley to snout on the supercharger was wrong!! Can’t believe my luck. Ended up purchasing an IE pulley .. price does matter I guess when it comes to build quality.
