Such an awfull performance from the ref, that tackle was already a yellow and the shot in the bench definitely one too, that was easily a red. That push from virg was zo satisfying to watch though back in december

you are wrong my friend. The tackle alone was reckless, deserving of the yellow. However smashing the ball into the opposing players bench only a small distance away is worthy of at least a yellow. Similar situations have happened when kicking the ball directly at players has resulted in a red and a send off. You are also allowed to give two yellow cards in proximity to each other, Paredes, by any normal standard should have been sent off, no questions asked.

he kicked it when the ref started whistling. He was just clearing it. He did nothing wrong. He couldn't stop his foot midway from clearing the ball upon hearing the whistle. Van Djik chest bumbed him. Should have given a yellow card to van djik. May be paredes can be given yellow card for the tackle but not the clearance.

Dutchie here, but Paredes shouldn't have been given an easy red. That foul was nasty and violent and the kick afterwards into the bench is justified for double yellow easily. But would have totally understood if van Dijk also got a 2nd yellow and was send off aswell
