Before we get into the first section of YOU AND YOUR GENDER IDENTITY: A GUIDE TO DISCOVERY, it’s important we talk about self-care. Because you’ll need to do a lot of it while you are working through this book! In this video I share with you the “Self-Care Checklist,” which includes lots of ideas so be sure to have something ready to take notes with!

It really helps to have people in your life who love you and respect you for who you are. That makes everything else going on in your life much easier.
funny you mention writing it keeping in mind folks that don't have access to a gender therapist. that is exactly why I got the book back in 2017. went to two therapists who said they were trans friendly, but really knew little to nothing about TGNC people. The book was a great tool to hold me over until I met more trans people :)
Self care is so important. Learning to do this now, as hard as it is. So, this is right on time. Thank you! 💓
Thank you for this Dara!! 💕
Hi Dara! I have been following you since 2017 when I was first questioning my gender identity. You book helped me so much to discover my identity. It is wonderful that you are reading from you book. If it helps one person, it is worth it!
It was interesting to look at the list again and consider not only what is done in excess or moderately but also see what else interests me as well as former hobbies that I might consider doing more often again
Thanks for all the great content! I’ve been following your channel for a long time. It helps me; you help me! I need all the help I can get at the moment. I’m having SRS in exactly one week. It’s been a long process to get to this point, and while I’m happy and excited. I’m also terrified. As I get closer to the day and it becomes more real, I am becoming more scared. I’m sure I’ll get through it and everything will be fine, I have a great surgeon one that I spent a lot of time to find and qualify, but it’s hard to not to be scared. It’s a really big and bloody surgery. Wish me luck!
I need that book!!!
Thank you for all that you do! You're trailblazing with this work and have helped pave a path for new counsellors like me.
Sabrina checking in. Self care is tremendously important. It has helped me numerous times over the last 8 months. Particularly after having to play a man.
