      Okay, there's a subtle difference that was never explained: lyrics "I'm a man AND I can't help but love you so", Versus "I'm a man BUT I can't help but love you so", profound difference there!! Listen close to both versions.

    Great British rock band formed in 1963. They had some big hits such as "Somebody Help Me", "Keep On Running", "I'm A Man", "Gimme Some Lovin'" & "When I Come Home". Steve Winwood & his brother started out in this group. He left in 1967 to form the rock band Traffic & a few years later Blind Faith.

    From the moment precocious teen Steve Winwood joined the band, it was the Spencer Davis Group in name only. Besides his uncanny vocals, he excelled on keys and guitar. After he left, he held his own with superstars in Blind Faith, went jazzier with Traffic, then graduated to a solo career.

    • @m06een00
      @m06een00 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think you could ever accuse Steve Winwood of being precocious. He's always came across as being humble in interviews, even when he was young. He was rather shy then. Just because he was super-talented as a kid doesn't make him automatically precocious.

    "Well, my pad is very messy and there's whiskers on my chin.
    I'm all hung up with music and I always play to win.
    I ain't got no time for lovin, cause my time is all used up
    Just a sittin round creatin all that groovy kind of stuff.
    But I'm a man..
    If I had my choice, my matter, I'd rather be with the cats.
    Moving close in mental chatter showing where our minds are at.
    And relating to each other, just how strong our will can be
    In resisting all involvement with each groovy chick we see
    But..
    Well I got to keep my image while suspended from a throne.
    That looks out upon a kingdom filled with people all unknown
    Who imagine I'm not human and my heart is made of stone.
    and I never have no problems and my toilets trimmed with chrome."
