MeyerPT is great. We do not use these in our clinic. For soreness, increased rom and stiffness we love the HYPERICE Hypervolt. It’s wonderful and the patients love it.

I got one of these for my veins insufficiency makes my legs go numb and my upper legs swell. Stopped using it after seeing people with lymphedema having problems from it like their scrotum growing to the size of a human torso.

Lose the annoying music it destroys the content of your video. No clue why so many videographers feel this distraction is a plus
    Absolute FAIL
However your info is accurate and well presented
Leave the tunes for the night club!!

Have you heard of "Game Ready"? basically normatec but with ice/cold compression flowing through the legs instead. What do you think would be better? I have heard that using ice too much over time can affect the legs in a negative way? as in it doesn't help recovery as quickly after a long time?
    Thanks doc

Cryotherapy with ice water has not been shown consistently to help with recovery, but it reduces pain temporarily really well. The compression on a Game Ready 2 years ago (when I was shopping for one) is not nearly as much as the Normatec. I personally prefer the Normatec for the way it feels. If you are acutely injured, Game Ready is the way to go.

Ahh okay but from a purely recovery perspective - do you feel that normatec makes the difference between say, just having a good recovery warm down, a contrast ice/hot bath and wearing compression? I'm 18 and about to play professional soccer, and next season will be physically on a completely different level - I was just wondering if you think it would be a suitable investment for a pro soccer player whose 18 or should I just stick with what people traditionally do. Cheers!

Great question. Not a great investment. It is a nice way to treat yourself. Cheaper than massages, but not as effective or affordable as what you are already doing.

Exactly what I wanted to hear. Finally, someone honest! Thanks doc.

How does the Normatech compare to the Leg Compression System by Vive Health?

I wonder if this would fix the pain in my feet caused by neuropathy

    • @LeonScottMD
      @LeonScottMD  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Never tested for that specifically, but they were developed to help with issues related to blood flow (specifically venous pooling). If you and your doctor believe the neuropathy is related to issues affecting large vessel function (which may be the case if you you have edema or diabetic neuropathy), then you may want to test it out.

Leon Scott MD would love to try it out just to see if it would help.

I was wondering the same thing. I do know that the ones I had in the hospital after an untreated surgery helped a lot.

Seems like it works as well as KT tape. Wait, that's not saying much.

The transitional music is SO LOUD that I have to continuously turn the sound up and down. What value does the music add to your video? NONE!
