That star is actually Venus. Venus can best be seen in the hours just after sunset in Philippines.

Also, better to start swimming lessons by teaching "drownproofing". For the majority of people it's easy, takes five minutes, and in good conditions you can stay afloat almost indefinitely. Wiki has a good article on it.

@@agentmugshots You'd know if you saw the starlink satellites reflecting the sun, they travel at a steady speed and there are many of them in a row! It looks a bit creepy, but you can tell they're much higher up than airplanes.
I saw them once, about an hour after the sun had gone down - a whole line of them stretched across the sky, Earth's manmade ring.

The biggest hassle is definitely transport, but it just needs some time to get used to. Everything else is just magical. The best sites in the philippines are the places outside the city. The weather gods are on your side because after you guys left it started raining again, that was wild 😂 it feels rigged lmao! Thanks for visiting our country and we are glad you are looking forward to coming back again. Can’t wait for you guys to try CORON/ EL NIDO PALAWAN!
The funny thing is, Leslie took the public route she experience first hand the hassle and scammers going to the hotel. While the other have a VIP treatment from the hotel but Leslie didn't know that it came with that. 🤣🤭

I went to Boracay in 2007 and maaaaan it was beautiful. I got tanned af lol. Food was great, service was great, people are nice and funny, the whole vibe is perfection

The way to tell if it is a star or a planet is that a star will twinkle and a planet will not. As some people have already mentioned in the comments, this was most likely Venus.

I just watched Joey and Aki's trip to Boracay. I'll take this as my sign to visit Boracay next week.
It's a planet! Most likely Venus. Back in March we were able to see Jupiter too for a bit which was cool!
There's a lot more you can go in the Philippines like Palawan, Siargao, etc. Comeback next summer and enjoy it with the roomies and friends or family
8:27 That's Venus. It's so bright that it remains visible at dawn and is the first to be visible at dusk, which is why it's called both the "Morning Star" and the "Evening Star". You've probably never seen it before in LA because of the light pollution and the smog.

I'm pretty sure it was. I think the ferry and the tricycle at the beginning was the "wrong route". She just didn't Vlog the part where they told her it was the wrong one. Since I'm sure she should have been picked up from the airport by the van directly by the hotel.

Satellites are actually pretty easy to visibly see and you'll actually see them slowly move in orbit as you keep watching. They also tend to blink in lights.

Thunderstorms didn't come until after you guys left. The day you flew back was the day I arrived in Boracay and it was raining my whole stay there (4 days). Pretty bummed out I didn't get to go out much but still had a lot of fun with my family.

Its Venus , when its close to earth (like it is now) its the brightest star in the sky and visibel before Sunset and after Sunrise.
I recommend Palawan on your next visit its also a nice place

So glad you didn't cancel your trip because thunderstorms literally come and go (some don't even last full-5 minutes) in most places in the PH. If you guys ever decide to come back, highly recommend Siargao, or El Nido, Palawan!!! And make sure to stay longer!!!

A thunderstorm warning only means that it may occur on a specific location, it may not be big enough, or it may be on another island. A city could even have sun and rain at the same time.
I was taught as a child that one way to differentiate it is if you look see that it twinkles, it's a star, but if it doesn't, it's actually a planet in our solar system.
that's the planet Venus, but interestingly enough it's also called the "Evening Star" and the "Morning Star" , because they say it's the first "star" you'll see in the evening and the last one you'll see when morning comes.
Very fun travel vlog! If you've considered your accommodation cheap, then that's already almost the peak of how much you can spend and enjoy at one of best beach place here in the philippines. fun fact.. here in the Philippines, some of the driver of the Van, the one that is in 1:24 (the glass with a lot of bubbles), replace the stick shifter to they so desired, for instance a "guitar" (in context of leslie's guitar joke). MWHEHEHEHEHEH

Can confirm, the star on 8:15 is Venus. It is visible here and is the brightest celestial body next to the moon during night time.
Next time if all of you comes back you need to try Palawan also.
