    I replaced the sway bar end-links on my 2011 Acura MDX (very similar vehicle mechanically) and the key to removing the nut is to be patient and use penetrating oil liberally (I recommend Liquid Wrench over WD-40). Spray the nut/bolt with penetrating oil, let it sit for several minutes, then use an Allen wrench and ratcheting wrench to begin to loosen. When the nut starts to bind up, back it off and apply more lubricant, let it sit for a few minutes. Repeat the process. Do not try to use a lot of force or you will strip out the hole the Allen wrench goes into. With each loosening, the nut should go a little farther. It took me about 10 minutes per nut this way (one nut took about 20 minutes). It was a real test of patience but it worked. If you live in areas that they salt the roads it could take a lot longer or maybe not work at all but it is worth a try.

    Wow what a beauty. So if I’m correct, you lifted it 2 inches and used the original wheels and it gave it that 3 inch lift? Any chance you can tell me what exact traxda lift you used cause it looks perfect. Lastly how did you get your rims so shiny and black? Did you paint them? Sorry for all the question but this is exactly how I’d love my truck to look. Thank you!

      Hey! Thanks man! Appreciate it ;)
      So yes, I lifted it with thetraxda 202020 kit (2" lift)
      Using the original wheels with taller tyres I got +- 3" lift.
      I got my wheel sandblasted (they're not real chrome!) and powdercoated black.

    Why lube up the bolt threads? Shouldn't you be putting on locktite so that the nuts won't loosen up?

    • @BjornV
      @BjornV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When lubing up the bolt threads, they will enter the threads easyer, and the stay oiled/lubed up.
      So whenever you take that bolt back out, it will not be corroded or rusted.
      You do have to tighten it tight enough though.

    I installed the2in lift kit with new struts makes a bad vibration when accelerating . What could cause this

    • @BjornV
      @BjornV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most likely your axles are bad. This issue is known in the Ridgeline community, some people get vibrations address the lift, some don't.
      Hrg has made subframe spacers to take away the stress on the axles.

    Curious on why you apply lube to the threads when you're putting things back together. Wouldn't it make the nuts and bolts more likely to come loose with vibration?

    • @BjornV
      @BjornV  ปีที่แล้ว

      So imagine you've got a stuck bolt, that's in an open end nut so you can see the threads sticking out.
      You clean the threads and apply wd40, and start to back up the bolt.
      hen it's stuck, you go back in and apply more wd40 so the threads withing the nut are lubricated.
      In the end the nut threads are lubricated completely and the bolt can be taken out.
      Now do this without wd40, you will hear the bolt and nut screeching because both threads are dry.
      So now, we want to put the bolt back in, but wd40 isn't good for that because wd40 dissolves after time.
      So I use ptfe lubrication,
      When applying this to threads, the bolt goes in to a nut easyer, and the threads within the nut stay lubricated, and you can still tighten the bolt to spec without it backing out over time.
      BUT it will back out easier when you disassemble, without the need of wd40! (I would still use wd40)
      We've been doing this for years at work, and when disassembling the same bolts again after time, they come loose easier :)
      Hope this explains your question :p

      For me, it drove smoother than on the wintertyres that it came on.
      Now after 30k miles my suspension is rattling. But these are still the first shocks, and those 'eed to be changed out after 100k - 150k miles.
