nRF24L01 Insufficient Power Problems and Better Range Distance

  • Many users have had trouble getting the nRF24L01 modules to work.
    This module is unfortunately not perfect!
    Interruption of Communicate
    No communication at all
    Low range
    Many times the problem is that the 3.3V Power to the module does not have enough current capability, or current surges cause problems.
    Solder a 3.3 uF to 10 uF capacitor directly on the module from VCC to Gnd.

    help please, I already put my nRF24L01 using the adapter module but it's still not working. here is my connection setup :
    CE - pin9
    CSN - pin10
    MOSI - pin11
    MISO - pin12
    CSK - pin13
    GND - GND
    VCC - 3,3 V
    I'm just making a simple program just to send a text to the other but the receiver still cannot get what the transmitter sent. Thanks

    Tambien el problema puede ser que los routers de Internet trabajan en 2.4GHz igual que este modulo, hay que hacer un Scan de todos los canales y ocupar un canal libre.

    I hardly gets a 100 meter range in open with PA+LNA with power adapter boards. I am feeding them from 9Volt batteries at both end to switch on and off a led. Any help?

    Always first try the "min" power mode to get things started. I also noticed that the serial port can lose data when the transmit is in progress.

    • @Autotrope
      @Autotrope 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Any similar cap will do. The boards will have bypass caps already, so any cap there is compensating for problems with your power source's ability to maintain voltage during high-ish current spikes. So it's hard to say what capacitor you need there if any without knowing how you're powering it. You might not need any.

    I have the module with antenna connector. Do I still need to solder the capacitor to it? I'm using it with NodeMCU ESP8266.
    I just soldered the cap to it. Now I can't upload the sketch to NodeMCU while its vcc&gnd is connected to the NRF module. I have to remove the wire when I need to upload the sketch. Please help.

      I have just tested some of my modules with PA and the external antenna. You absolutely need to have line of sight between the modules. 1thing is that some of the antennas that comes with the modules are not good. I had antenna that only works if you bend it to 45 degree angle, because the internal coax was shorting. you need to use the max power level on the module, 250kbps speed and use either the capasitor or better powerdelivery. Final advice is to isolate the module from interference, covering it first with isolating electrical tape and then with aluminium tape, I have reached 1.2km with the original antennas.

    • @Autotrope
      @Autotrope 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Shouldnt be. Did you find voltage too low from testing or are you just suspecting something? Is your power source rated for at least 200mA current (when using PA+LNA model)?

    Nice one. Just starting with these Microcontroller stuff. At the moment I am struggeling to get a nrf24L01 connected to a NodeMCU23. I think I wired it correctly: SCK = Pin14, MISO = Pin19, MOSI = Pin23, CSN = PIN17 and CE= Pin7 (just a random GPIO). But I cant get it up and running. Any Idea currently I am using the RF24 Library from TMRh20. Has someone else a working setup?

    what does capacitor do ?

    • @thedmutz
      @thedmutz 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It stores an electric charge so that when the board requires more current, the capacitor can quickly supply the sudden demand. It's best to solder the capacitor as close as possible to the power pins on the chip, otherwise soldering it far away increases the time it takes for the current to get to where it's needed

    radio.setAutoAck(false);
    setChannel(100);//use any top 25 from 100-124
    my comm was not working also due to my home router already running at channel 1
