Today I changed the pilot ignition assembly because the orange spark wire have the insulation burn and the flame sensing rod was failing intermittently. Too bad that Weil Mclain doesn't design these assemblies to be more modular and easy to replace, have to buy the complete assembly kit with pilot tubing and everything for $85. On a side note, the boiler I was fixing have a Honeywell ignition control module and these have the option of using the ignition spark rod as flame sensing and that was I was using before the spark wire decide to quit working because the wire were so short it was touching the gas burners and getting the insulation damaged.
@@D2DNYAC That's not bad, assuming it covers the cost of labor. I have a guy coming today at some point and I'm thinking this is what I need, but we'll see. Thanks!
It was intermittent it would spark pilot came on it would sense flame but main valve wouldn’t open and I know it was sensing flames because the sparks stopped once the pilot was lit, main only open sometimes
@@D2DNYAC what is crazy is I have paid 2 hvac guys almost 300 bucks over 3 weeks to fix that very same problem with mine. I learned how boiler work and with a volt meter I diagnosed it myself and they told me it was the main board and wanted 700 bucks to fix it. I figured out it's the ignition control module so it's good to see your video and that it confirms my suspicion.
I have same boiler..mine been doing same thing ...I changed out the pilot assembly and still intermittent start..now I'm about to change out the ignition control cause seems to be the only other thing..

Hi I have damper wire where to connect it or just leave alone
This ignition controller doesn’t have an option for back draft damper!
Good stuff dude! Keep it up🔧
Appreciate it
Nice that the boiler is on blocks. Easy to remove burners
Do i need a different pilot assembly for natural gas boiler?
@digdude I don't understand your question! are you a technician or hvac pro?
How much $$$ would it be (ballpark) for a "pro" to replace those parts?
500 - 700 $ in New York City

What brand and part number?
I don't have that information
Just put one of those in bro like a pro!
👍
What was wrong that told you to replace those parts?

You didn't show how 2 wire the controller.
What do you need to know?
Wow what a mess the near piping for that boiler
Tell me about it
not good pro pro
Good enough
not good pro pro brother
What are you say brother?
