IMHO (as a gold terran), the issue with ghost is that you have to manage marines with stim, sieging your siege units and use EMP which make a lot of things to do for a low level player and tend to be overwhelming. Ghost being higher priority than marines in the selection make it harder to control part of your army if you want to manage multiple groups, or you need to "panic stim" when you don't iniate the engagement.
Just using one single extra unit is a big advantage over using all of them. This guy didn't make mines, didn't make liberator and didn't make ghosts, just 1/3 would have made the game a lot easier.
"My beloved tanks get crushed by zealots" - I guess he's saying this is why he didn't build more than one? Yet he continues with "Marines get evaporated by the archons", but these he keeps building 😄
Two base chargelot archon man. 44 worker and 9-10 gateway with prism. Go out at about 6-7 min. I guess it's just that people at our shit leagues cannot deal with protoss. I rage myself against it with other two races.
Hamster, the live trade graph was awesome. Would have been nice to see for the drop when he killed the forges as well. I imagine it takes quite a while to make though
Thank you Harstem for saying what I've been thinking for a long time. How can terrans whine about how hard ghosts are to use when they get rolled by toss at the same level using high templar? The only differences between them are that ghosts are tankier, faster, can't friendly fire and can turn invisible. The ghost is objectively much easier to use than a high templar. People will then point out that you have to micro your marines or whatever but a) none of these people are microing their units well anyway and at least half of them would literally be better off a-moving, and b) if you carpet bomb a toss army with EMP before they can storm, you can actually just stim, a-move it and win like they always complain toss does.
I also have always found it weird that Terrans complain that it’s too hard to use ghosts while simultaneously complaining about Templar. It’s the same thing - you click the hotkey and click the army. Plus - Terran doesn’t have to research EMP, gets an upgrade to make it god like (EMP radius is exactly the same as storm before the upgrade), it does MORE damage than storm and instantly instead of over 3 seconds, and the auto attack and HP comparisons are laughable
Ye, toss to beat MMMM army neef Storm colosus and distuptors at one, micro them and do diferent tech trees, terran have to build academy and use 2 hotkkeys IMBALANCE
I think that is because they use one group for all main army (or F2) and then... having Ghosts makes steaming the marines harder (you need to TAB then steam!)... in case of Amadeus that could actually save some of those poor over-steamed the Marine junkies
On one hand, yes, it is quite funny, but on the other hand: storm has the capacity to kill units, and your using it primairly zgainst the squishy terran bio and small zerg forces (lings, hydras, and roaches), whereas EMP cannot kill anything under any circumstance, at best it can bring an archon down to 4 HP, and is only useful in that regard against protos, a race that can out tank terran before accounting for shields with most of there comparable units. Which isn't saying storm is IMAB or necessarily better than EMP, just that the 2 can't be compared as equivalents despite having a similar function at a surface level.
I find it interesting that if you compare the relative percentages of what race people play to the races played by players who submit IMBA complaints they are almost the same. The difference is probably due in some part to random players. Anyway I find it interesting because this would suggest that all 3 races submit IMBA requests equally. And you could reasonably then surmise that perhaps that means things are balanced.
As an ex-terran player my reasoning for ghosts being too hard is that I've seen some pro games of maru or cure playing vs zerg, then got excited to play ghosts myself, and got absolutely blasted by zerg players. Snipe is super hard and keeping them alive is even harder. In my mind I turned off the option to build ghosts because they were too hard, so I never used them against protoss either, even though that literally makes 0 sense, since EMP is a lot easier than snipe.
My immediate reaction to the complaint form is to think about the Platinum Terran who completely demolished me with some well-placed EMPs the other day. EMPing Archons is... argh.

BGMwSS: Replace every unit in your army with a unit in the same tier and as similar tech wise as you can get. E.g. Zealots/Adepts Carriers/Tempests Voidrays/Pheonixes/Oracles? Stalkers/Sentries HT/DT Disruptor/Collosi Immortal/Archon? Bonus: Prisim/Mothership (they're both transports... right?) If you play terran: Reapers/Ghosts Marines/Marauders Mines/Hellions/Helbats Tanks/Thors (Inspired by this video) Medivacs/Vikings Battlecruisers/Liberators
I suggest a study with two groups of a significant amount of participants One group will get assigned a race The other will be able to choose freely at any point Then over the course of half a month or two they will have to play a couple games a week while filling in a survey at the end of each week Questions regarding fairness and race sentiment Happiness and frustration Then you will have a result that shows Whether race choice affects sentiment inherently or whether it is more likely to be a cultural thing
Do protoss really have more upgrades? Didn't they split terran back into separate ground mech and air, in addition to the infantry, where protoss only have ground and air?
walking into the biggest surrounds like a real champ lol, did he kite back once besides at the end when the game was alrdy over? also focussing the sentry with marauders is really smart, since they do additional damage to sentries and not to stalkers
That's not how statistics works. You also need to know the number of terran / protoss that are subbed to the channel. From the other poll there is 35% more protoss players than terran, yet there is only 20% more complains from protoss than terran. So on average, terran complains more than protoss.

Knowing when to back out of a winning position is a really huge skill to learn.

Giving advice while roasting…..only harstem!
I'm watching this IODIS episode, I'm 20 mins in and thinking "2 ghosts would be the doom of that Protoss"
BGMwSS: Replace every unit in your army with a unit in the same tier and as similar tech wise as you can get.
E.g.
Zealots/Adepts
Carriers/Tempests
Voidrays/Pheonixes/Oracles?
Stalkers/Sentries
HT/DT
Disruptor/Collosi
Immortal/Archon?
Bonus: Prisim/Mothership (they're both transports... right?)
If you play terran:
Reapers/Ghosts
Marines/Marauders
Mines/Hellions/Helbats
Tanks/Thors (Inspired by this video)
Medivacs/Vikings
Battlecruisers/Liberators
I suggest a study with two groups of a significant amount of participants
One group will get assigned a race
The other will be able to choose freely at any point
Then over the course of half a month or two they will have to play a couple games a week while filling in a survey at the end of each week
Questions regarding fairness and race sentiment
Happiness and frustration
Then you will have a result that shows Whether race choice affects sentiment inherently or whether it is more likely to be a cultural thing
can you make a playlist of the vids that ending with imba? thx
just curious what is actually imba
Harstem describing terran players made me think of Artosis 😂
"Well, you're a person. With a brain."
*immediately begins to doubt own statement*
13:00 Go USA
Do protoss really have more upgrades? Didn't they split terran back into separate ground mech and air, in addition to the infantry, where protoss only have ground and air?
All races have 5 general upgrades. The fifth for Protoss is Shields.
18:00 Who also understood "electromagnetic pils" - an thought of a beer? ^^
walking into the biggest surrounds like a real champ lol, did he kite back once besides at the end when the game was alrdy over?
also focussing the sentry with marauders is really smart, since they do additional damage to sentries and not to stalkers
For the swarm!!!!!!
BGMwSS: one supply depot!
Harstem getting fact checked by hamster with Terran having the least idios form complaints is great, lol
That's not how statistics works. You also need to know the number of terran / protoss that are subbed to the channel. From the other poll there is 35% more protoss players than terran, yet there is only 20% more complains from protoss than terran. So on average, terran complains more than protoss.
@@LEpigeon888 You're correct, yet also conveniently just make this a matter of terran vs toss.
While even if we go by the numbers of the poll and the statistics in this video, zergs should be the whiniest ones.
Was that the first tank that died at 25:35 lmao
