Negative comments, but remember how army soldiers are trained. How meticulously they are checked for their hygiene, manners and other stuff. These drivers are trained in a similar way, not only they learn defensive driving and evasive driving, they also learn how to be presentable. Anyone who has worked in a corporate setting knows how important it is to look presentable in front of your clients and customers.

Do you know the salary of the drivers employed by the government? It is better than engineers and mbas in most cases.

@@jackrulz08They not just put their country in a high pedestal but also make sure that nothing they do should tarnish the image of the country, a far cry from Indian attitude, especially our 50% population living in the backwaters. Their talk is followed by action. That's something we'll have to do forcefully because we have endless pool victim mentality here.

They're elite drivers, so they get paid at least 1 lakh per month.
They are getting paid more than some engineers... so don't worry !!

not all but many drivers are highly paid. if someone owns the vehicle then their earnings are well above many cream jobs around.
Once I was a NSS volunteer in SCO youth meeting which was held in hotel ashoka as i am a student of russian language I was there as a translator although my Russian language is not so good it is below than average but in my college only some of the students were interested in this task. So i got a chance to meet delegates of Uzbekistan (minister of youth and sports*something like that*) so the driver uncle who was with me to recieve the delegates at the airport told me all this things and he told me about each kind of people he meet on everyday basis and he told me how polite some people can be with him and some are impolite too. I liked the conversation with uncle he was a humble man.

Perceptions do matter people. India is a huge country. And we are getting there. It'll take time. Meanwhile such good perceptions are the things that'll attract people again to India (of course along with other stuff like security). I don't see why people have to hate this. These people know the importance of their jobs. And they are happy to do it.
There are millions of Indian cab drivers and drivers in general in UK, USA, Canada etc. I think the world already knows our perception regarding Indians and drivers.

It's good to see that how a person is aware for his or her child education but the sad part is that even a so much spent on education by government but they failed to compete with Pvt owned school.
Because they created the private school. Most of the private schools and hospitals are owned by politicians from all parties directly or indirectly.

A kind request to all the highly educated people who are reading my comment, if you ever feel like not being able to crack a decent job or you are unemployed, don't get disheartened, you always have an option of being an elite driver or personal assistant. These are not demeaning in any way and the fact that celebrities and well known people look for well educated people for these jobs, you might fit in well. I have one of my friends, a mechanical engineer, driving for a well know personality, earning in lakhs per month and assists the celebrity during foreign tours and is just like family, well respected.

What a sad story embellished like a fairy tale. If he was an engineer elsewhere he would've stayed an engineer. If he wanted to be a driver then it's a different thing.
The thing is you can rate skills according to difficulty in mastering them. That's where the difference in jobs come. I say whatever jobs that require a good mix of physical and cognitive skills is a good job or a respectable one. But as a person everyone has the same rights.
