- We decided to go with a comprehensive highlights to show a bit of everything that went down in finals today at the Vans BMX Pro Cup in Sydney. 40 riders were narrowed down to 20 who went head to head for the Pro Cup title. In the end it was Larry Edgar who out-blasted and out-maneuvered his competition, but everyone was KILLING IT. Congrats to Larry, Sergio, and Alex Hiam for taking the 1, 2, 3.

So gnarly. Just want to point out that 10-15 years ago only street riders went brakeless and kids "following the trend" were considered dumb and that they wouldn't learn bike control. But nothing says learn bike control like never riding with brakes. Look at how high and smooth these guys are going without even needing to brake check or pedal... Insane.

Yeah,Matt Cranmer had no business being in with those too guys. No offense to him but vans def pulled some strings to get him that high at the end of the semis. He had one highlight of a sketchy ass flare.still love him,but I’m sure there’s someone else that could have token his spot that did better.

I'm from Sydney, I (crappily) ride Five Dock, and I was there watching in person, I though Matty's semis run was big, banging and clean and it definitely stood out. He deserved to be in the finals IMO. Top 20 riders for sure but yeah probably not in the top 10.

Well it is a bowl comp not a park comp. If it were judged as a park comp, he'd not make the top 10 I bet. But it's a bowl comp, and all these guys throwing big tricks and then losing momentum in the flats or barely bringing the tricks around, landing low, swerving out at the bottom or tapping coping get docked points each time it happens. It's all about smooth and amplitude and Matty had both those things
