- Will gives his 10 top tips on how to pass your NEBOSH NG2/IG2 Practical Assessment
Well done if you've just submitted an NG1 or IG1 NEBOSH OBE exam. Now it's turn to turn to your NG2/IG2. And bad news: it's harder than the OBE! It's pass or fail. One critical mistake can mean you fail.
Tips for success:
1. Read the NEBOSH guidance thoroughly: www.nebosh.org...
2. Use the NG2 template like a checklist. It tells you what you need to write in the left-hand column.
3. Read the NEBOSH example NG2, but do NOT copy it: www.nebosh.org...
4. Find some HSG guidance or ACOP which is relevant and use this to identify existing/further risk controls. Mention this in your methodology.
5. Make sure you have at least 10 hazards, but not more.
6. Cover all 5 hazard categories. Each element = 1 hazard category.
7. Ensure all legally-required or industry-standard control measures are mentioned in either the existing or the further risk controls. If a legally required control is missing from either column, you fail.
8. In the general legal arguments, include both the civil and criminal consequences of non-compliance.
9. In the specific legal arguments, quote legislation which is being broken and explain why you think the organisation is in breach. Be specific.
10. Don't use risk ratings to explain your likelihood/severity. Explain WHY the incident is likely and how bad it could be.
Finally, do NOT ask me to review your NG2 ;)

Hello. 2 Questions:
1. In SPECIFIC LEGAL ARGUMENT - Does it have to be an ILO Convention / Recommendation or can it be a Local country Regulation?
2. Also in Specific Legal Argument - can you state a law that "MAY BE BROKEN" if your recommended action is NOT IMPLEMENTED?

Can you provide an example of a hazard covering all columns?
And tell me what is plagiarism in this case? Mostly the hazards are same and if I am writing a hazard of noise in Pakistan? There are many people from whole world who may be write the same hazard and it can also happen that may our industry is same so what to do?
In one sense it`s easier than NG1, in one sense it isn`t. Yes, it easy to fail it but its also easy to rectify the issue and resubmit, it`s definitely not as grueling as NG1 where you don`t know what questions/scenario there could be. NG2 is more straightforward I thought.
The feedback is usually pretty clear, so yes a re-submission is straightforward. Just costs time, money, and emotional pain!
