I dunno how it's possible, but I can easily blast through an entire 2.5 hour 7idea with ease. Super relaxing and enjoyable. Like very little else.
This one is a Masterpiece. I have been over these rails dozens of times and it never gets old.
I really wish you wouldn’t upload on my Saturday morning, when I have chores to do. Ughhh chores will have to wait.
Chores are more important
@@harrisonmellard4785 I know, I know....I was lucky the video was 15 minutes! Back to work for me! Thanks for keeping me in line....:-)

Once again, I am in awe at the vision and creative boldness of the railroaders of an earlier era who made this impressive route possible. 2023/10/20. Ontario, Canada.
This is my homeland. I grew up in klamath Falls in the 80’s. Most of my early train chasing memories are in these locations. Locomotives were a little darker back then.
Used to live on Garden and go to Mills. Loved seeing the trains as a kid. Hopefully (as a 90s kid) there is some saving grace for Klamath. Such a unique place to grow up. I remember when the snowflake parade was damn near every citizen around. The tulelake fair… etc. aye the good ol days!
This was fantastic. My father's best friend lived in Mount Shasta City, so I was able to see and hear the Southern Pacific in the 60's and 70's. I still have fond memories of hearing the whine of trains climbing out of the Sacramento river valley at night! This was a beautiful reminder of one of my favorite areas. I still check in on the live Dunsmuir station depo cam every day.
Nothing like the SP on the Shasta Line and the sight and sound of those tunnelmotors working hard.
Great to see the snake ,I allways look out for them when I’m over
Love the winter scenery with the trains.
☆☆ SWEET !! Me lived in Sacramento, from 10yrs. // McClellan AFB, Travis AFB, and MATHER AFB, were my duty Stations. Of course I miss Cali ' !..❤❤❤
I have your old video, The Shasta Route, bought on DVD sitting in my room as I write this. It's really nice to see you went back to this location to see what's all changed since the last visit. As always, another great film from you Aaron.
The entire video was great! I liked the ending with the credits rolling and the shot of the train going by🤙
I left California, in the Bay Area but I so love this
part of CA. I live in NV but go to OR. Once a yr
& go I-5 , such beautiful country.
Thanks so much for sharing your incredible work. Top notch in every way!
I'm watching this right now. Just entered Oregon. This video is awesome!!!
Another amazing movie. Awesome Saturday night boredom buster 😎 watching from Pahrump Nevada 🇺🇲
We tend to fall asleep with the TV on and last might or should I say early this morning (2-12-24) I woke up to check the fire and your video was playing, it is such a pleasure to watch and it is even better as we live in Mt. Shasta. I was really surprised when I got to the Mt. Hebron part as the Land Cruiser that passed over the tracks belongs to our daughter! Well, you must know that we have shared with a lot of our friends. Thank you so much for making such wonderful, scenic videos.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing that here.
Hopefully Mt Shasta Doesn't Erupt Anytime soon in the near future
UP Ex SP Shasta Subdivision is a Beautiful line in Oregon and California
Awesome Footage of the Union Pacific in Northern California
Thank you AB
Soo 🥰 beautiful
What a gorgeous stretch of track
Wow wow great vidieo thank you so mutch❤😊
FANtastic video!🙂🙂🙂
I've watched scores of these kinds of videos...; this one is by far the best! GREAT👌
Your videos are top shelf. Done in HD with stunning scenery. The narration throughout the video is so refreshing to hear. I also like the maps at the beginning of the videos as they explain the sub(s) that are depicted along withe the stations along the line. My favorite videos are this one and the two parter from Eugene to Klamath Falls. Mountain railroading at it's finest. I found "East to Spokane" a bit boring. Other than that superb stuff. Keep em coming.
Great video, been on Mt Shasta up to Bunny Flats, beautiful up there, enjoy watching the trains also
A SPECTACULAR VIDEO as ALWAYS! As a now retired trucker, I've traveled along Hwy 97 a few times, but I never thought that I'd see a video that included the town of Dorris Ca! 👉Will you be doing a video of the Siskiyou Line? Is that your International Scout👈
Aaron, thank you for sacrificing the comfy temperatures in order to capture these amazing moments for us to enjoy and admire!
Keep on Trackin', Sir!
(R×R) 😁👍
Thank you! Actually that is not my Scout. It belongs to a conductor who works out of Dunsmuir. You can always tell when he is on duty because he always parks right there.
I like how the camera guy got his truck to be in a couple of scenes.Nice old rig.
Having watched a few your movies the following comes to mind: Inasmuch as I am super-impressed by the power of the locomotives, I am even more impressed by those who designed the railway routes as they cut through the landscape. Keep Up the Good Work! Thank You!
Excellent! Sometimes, delays on Amtrak divulge the most beautiful portions of the journey which would otherwise be lost in darkness, if on schedule.
Once Empire Builder started pretty late from Seattle, somewhere at 8 pm or so, by the time we woke up, the train was passing through the Rockies of eastern Washington and Idaho, and we were so fortunate to witness Glacier National Park in Western Montana in the bright midday sun. That day I felt, why didn't the Amtrak keep this as the right schedule lol.. leaving at night also avoids unnecessary hotel bills in Seattle. Meaning, you can arrive previous evening on Coast Starlight or Empire Builder, rest in hotel, explore Seattle all day till late evening, grab nice dinner and catch east-bound Empire Builder at night. I wish this comes true one another time in future.
Exactly. Happened to me on a trip from LA to Seattle, delays enabled me to see a lot of the route around Mt. Shasta to K Falls that is normally hidden at night.
Fantastic 4k
Great video, brings back memories of a long west coast railfan trip July 2022, seeing Shasta at sunrise while rolling south on an empty I5. The whole series is amazing, you've changed my youtube rxperience, thanks for posting 👍 🇦🇺
Hi I did a great job on the video thanks
A large part of all great train videos is the backdrop. Pick up this one and place
it in central Illinois and it's not quite as interesting (LOL, and no disrespect intended
toward Illinois). Another beauty, 7iP!
Excellent rail footage of Redding. Thanks for posting.
Bridges & tunnels enhance the freight train 🚂 crossing over or going through -!!! 😉.
Amazing Footage.
My favorite one for sure was @ the coos bay yard today.6 trains!
Another amazing video Arron. Without doubt the best railroad channel on u-tube. I have a large collection of your dvds so I was pleased to see a new full length one on line. I probably know more about you beautiful country by watching 7Idea than most. Factual, scenic and brilliant quality. Keep up the good work. Stay safe. Very best regards. Mick🇬🇧
Thanks for watching and for your support!
Wonderful camera work!
It's Taken me a Week to get through this
I've Fallen Asleep Every Time
It's been Worth It Watching This
Yep UPSP at it's best.
GREAT VIDEO!!!! 👍🤟🤙
full video of The kearney sub triple track please, amazing
Fantastic video, great scenery!
I love this video this subdivision is awesome
I caught the run to KFS twice working out of SAC when I was still marked up. It's quite a sight to see Mt. Shasta right around sunrise a few hours before arriving into Klamath. Overnight runs were rough but both times were fairly quiet trips.
Very Nice😀
Fantastic video ! Thank You .
Beautifully done! You find such great spots from where to film the trains!
When driving along I-5 one of my favorite stops in Dunsmuir is the Railroad Park Resort. You can spend the night in a retired train car, and you also can dine in one. I’ve done that, such fun! It’s also a prime photography spot for the Castle Crags.
Thank you, this is a fantastic video! I’ve missed seeing a good stretch of this route when on the Coast Starlight, because it’s dark when it passes through some of this section. It’s nice to see it in daylight!
SUPER BEAUTIFUL VIDEO AND SCENERY
Thank you so much for sharing these professional grade videos. Absolutely love every one. I had a copy of your Stevens Pass video on VHS and really appreciate being able to watch it again on TH-cam.
Great video 👍
I think the Coast Starlight takes this route. I recall waking up as the southbound train came into *Dunsmuir.*
Was able to get back to bed within an hour or so.
I njoy train watching love it🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Awesome and in my back yard so to speak.... I'm along the Siskiyou stretch.
I am big fan of your channel ❤
Beautiful country n sounds
great video ❤❤❤❤
UP 1096 is a GP60
You are correct. That was an error on our part.
In memory of HOBO MARK NICHOLOS SHOESTRING 🎉 AN AMERICAN 20TH CENTURY LEGEND OF THE HOBOS . HIS MEMORY WILL GO DOWN IN RAIL HISTORY AS ON OF THE LAST HOBO FRONTIERS. ALTHOUGH MA8N LINES OF THE EAST HES MADE HIS MARK RDN OUT WEST N INTO CANADA , R.I.P. HOBO SHOESTRINGS.
I'm surprised you didn't visit the SP Locomotive or Dunsmuir Railroad Park, but fantastic video
That is a good point. I didn't include it in this program since I covered them in the original "Shasta Route" released about 10 years earlier. In retrospect, I wish I had showed them here as well.
You should do a video documentary on the Midwest central railroad in Mount Pleasant Iowa
Great explanation on different cards!
I like train videos on TH-cam 👍
I remember camping at lake siskyou you can hear the trains from there i miss that lake
13:55 Not many know this, but the Pit River Bridge is the only bridge on the Interstate highway system owned by the federal government
Amazing video! About how many trains a day go over that Subdivision?
Last time I filmed out there it was around 15 in a twenty-four hour period.
7idea must be a rename for Pentrex, same narritor too. Not sure if this really 4k though, seems a little soft.
You've made so many great videos. I hope you can make some money from your work.
Awesome video ,i notice that UP don't put their DPU in the middle of long trains ,but on the rear ,out here in Georgia CSXand NS put their DPU in the middle of long trains
Thank you.
In response to your comment on DPU's I think it depends on the territory, train makeup, logistics, etc. UP runs a lot of mid-train DPUs on other parts of their system, but it is not very common on the Shasta Line. Today even rear-end DPU's are not often seen (on the Shasta) since UP went back to using manned helpers some years ago on the Cascade Sub in Oregon.
Interesting/informative/entertaining. Excellent photography job/detailed train 🚂 location maps. Enabling viewers to better understand what the orator is describing. Noticed a certain amount of graffiti on the box & tanker cars. Perhaps the artists will see 👀their creations on this presentation -??? 😲. Jimmy Rogers " The " Singing Break Men ". Was a genuine break men till changing careers to singing entertainer🎸🎶 1926 till 1932.popular classic " Break Man's Blues ". Viewing this presentation from the comfort zone of my computer room. Along the " Space Coast "🚀of Florida 🐊🐊. Wishing viewers/R.R. Employees a safe/healthy/prosperous ( 2024 )🌈🎉😉.
Is the kiddy wye along this route?
No. That be about 90 mi. SE of Redding on the Feather River Canyon route: Oroville-Lake Almanor area- Quincy-Beckwourth Pass.
The Keddie wye was part of the track that gave the Great Northern an entrance into California. This route was built by Southern Pacific between 1912 and 1926.
Mount shasta us 14,179 foot now and wasn't the dry creek Bridge destroyed by fires in 2019? Or 2021
I would love to find a video of the BNSF inland gateway sub.
That would be sweet!
51:23 Those sheds were torn down about 6 years ago and the town was never called "Pusher" the original name was Cedar Flats.
#1096 was a GP60, not a GP40
Did I miss MossBrae Falls? I used to park at Shasta Retreat and fish there years ago, but have since seen the access to it 'off limits' by the RR
7Idea has been my favorite rail videography company since I first watched their Blue Mountains video years ago. Best way to relax is to catch one of their videos. Keep up the good work, guys!
Thank you very much!
* for /// 10 years out of my 16 "Honorable" - with 🇺🇸 USAF--baby !!
Hello, when you are using acronyms, please explain them at least once. Not every viewer is familiar with "CLBCR" or so.. @ 1:07:37 Thank you.
That is a good point when using train symbols. I usually translate them the first time they are used in the program. The Z-BRLC is a hi-priority (designated Z train) from Brooklyn Yard in Portland, Oregon (BR) to Los Angeles (LC).
Wow have times changed. The Redding turn is gone from the ravages of PSR and the southbound no longer use DP units.
I didn't know that about the Redding Turn. Haven't been down there for a while.
DP's were replaced with manned helpers at Oakridge some years ago. I guess UP got tired of dragging them all the way to Roseville then sending them back to Eugene. Lot of extra miles on those units.
@@7ideaproductions Roseville wasn’t sending the power back so the Portland service unit decided to cut them off at Klamath so they wouldn’t be short on power 😉
I believe it!
❤❤❤
Where have I heard this narrator before ?
You left out the bridge over Doney Creek.😓
حضاره عظيمه ودوله عظيمه امريكا
❤
what camera do you use to film trains?
Sony PXW Z280
What's the detector at 57 min?
That is a high and wide detector which looks for shifted loads.
