I was in an airport somewhere. Don't know where, but there was this guy on the floor sitting on the floor against the glass near the terminal. This cat was Brian Setzer of the Stray Cats, cool as can be, alone, sitting on the floor. It impressed me so much and I have been a big and life long fan ever since.
Oh well, I've got a girl with a record machine When it comes to rockin' she's the queen .... We love to dance on a Saturday night All alone, I can hold her tight But she lives in a twentieth floor up town The elevator's broken down So I walked one, two flight, three flight, four Five, six, seven flight, eight flight more Up on the twelfth I started to drag Fifteenth floor I'm ready to sag Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock When she calles me up on the telephone Said c'mon over honey, I'm all alone I said baby, you're mighty sweet But I'm in the bed with a achin' feet This went on for a couple of days But I couldn't stay away So I walked one, two flight, three flight, four Five, six, seven flight, eight flight more Up on the twelfth I'm ready to drag Fifteenth floor I started to sag Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock (Guitar solo) Well, they sent to Chicago for repairs 'Till it's a-fixed I'm using the stairs Hope they hurry up before it's too late Want my baby too much to wait All this climbin' is gettin' me down They'll find my corpse draped over a rail But I climbed one, two flight, three flight, four Five, six, seven flight, eight flight more Up on the twelfth I'm ready to drag Fifteenth floor I started to sag Get to the top, I'm too tired to rock Eddie Cochran - 1958
way too slow.this song should be played as if you've just taken speed and your rushing to finish the song so you can meet Cheryl Cole for a face sitting session.in other words like Vince Taylors version
Elmokaila - Too true. Compare it to the original and the Stray Cats are just pretenders. The rhythm section here is *nothing* compared to Cochran's. Setzer's vocal and guitaring are alright but those ten-minute solo flourishes dull the impact of what should be a balls-out two-minute toe-tapper, in my expert opinion.
i really enjoy listening to setzer, and i picked up quite a few licks, and runs, but he does tend to overplay many songs.but all that being said,if i could play 1% of what he does,id be whistling dixie!!!

Setzer is a modern eddie Cochran both rockabilly kings different generations
Amen to that...he even appeared as Eddie in the buddy holly story movie
@@colinclarke4285 You're thinking about La Bamba. It's about Ritchie Valens.
Setzer displays such effortless virtuosity. His singing and playing are absolutely flawless.
Love it only the Stray Cats could cover this great Eddie Cochran classic so good as this
A fantastic homage to the original
All Brian on this two killin' solos : the first on Rockabilly and the second more Jazzy.
Go go cats you are legends in your own rights the kings of rockabilly forever no competition the full package. Still love u in 2023 ❤

Eddie Cochran - 1958
Simply one of the greatest classics ever!
Me and my dad used to listen to this all the time
Brilliant
Ever heard Setzer making a single mistake in his playing... I haven't 😎
I saw Setzer perform this at the Hollywood Bowl last fall. The Bowl was ROCKIN'!
I got to see him with rockabilly riot at del mar race track . Front row he looked at me smuck and started his solo
the song paul mccartney used to impress john!...
pretty awesome than an Ed Edd n Eddy episode titled “May I have this Ed?” featured an instrumental version of Twenty Flight Rock in it
Fantastic !!!
No I think it was raunchy the one that George played to his audition, this one was played by Paul to get into the Quarry Men
They were so good. I still love ‘em. I own two cds by them one has 15. The other 20
FABulousNESS
💙🌟💙🌟💙🌟💙🌟
Brian is a reincarnation of Eddie Cochran
Jenna Rose he played him in the movie La Bamba 😊
Jenna Rose way too slow.Vince Taylor is the version.
@@kaymuldoon3575 That was him, summertime Blues? New it was someone good.
Eddie was Brians God.
Rockabilly 4 ever
good stuff, thanks for the post
I THIK EDDIE LOOK DOWN FROM HEAVEN AND LOVE STRAYCATS
He looked down
And it was good
super cool
2nd killer solo!
That Rockabilly song by Eddie Cochran in 1957 Paul McCartney sang to John Lennon when they meet them
stray cats and cranford nix. best versions of this song
makes me want to climb stairs
@BryanTheKR You're welcome. If you are interested in more classics, just send a message.
killer solos
Fuck yeah

@Colenol13 1956,movie 'The girl can't help it'.
Agree. Never heard anyone else. Do Eddie like em
I only found out about this song when Thomas Sangster sang it in Nowhere Boy.
vive les CATS ...
coooooool!!!!!!:)
* * * * * ROCK ON !
i only found out about this song when a guy said it reminds him of me i have never heard of it before
Si seulement Eddie avait vécu j imagine une Jam session avec brian
@Syzygy60 Nope,Paul played this in front of Lennon, which made a great friendship and music history.'Nuff said.
snapz katz
No, that's the song that Paul McCartney audtion for John Lennon the day they met ;)
But this song is from Eddie Cochran, this is a cover of Stray Cats. :v
また古くていい歌ですね(^-^)
Yeah they do it just like Eddie
After listening to this version check out Marco di maggio Twenty flight rock!
As good as this is, I prefer the original. Setzer smokes and Eddie was the man.
Jake Johnson I think Brian would be the first to agree.Nobody outcools Eddie.
Agree.Setzer is a mean guitarist. But imo Simpler Eddie version is better. Both Great guitarists though..
Sounds like someone needs to take up distance running.
No catey snarling required . Original still Better! Owned this once?
本家をしのぐ格好良さ!

Good point
Check out the Rolling Stones 1981 live version.
stray cats is very good..but this one they fale,,it dont have the drive that eddie has!
Only because it was new at the time...You can never recreate that.
It is an awesome version. One can't compare it to Cochran's, but they introduced it to a huge number of people.

@rockinrodney5000 ok thnx
Eddie Cochran went far too young.
Great song! Check out Arlyn Gale's version on my channel!
