This was absolutely humbling. I had never before seen so many of his paintings. I particularly love his unfinished preparatory sketches. Such luminous depictions of outdoor scenery. ❤❤
"lucky enough to be born to see these wonderful paintings" are perfect words and thoughts. The paintings are so special. You posted a wonderful comment I realte to 🎨
Wonderful video slide show, simple economy of production, allied to an understated but pleasing piano soundtrack. This allows Sorrolla's sun soaked visceral paintings to be fully indulged.
its about mixing the colors to perfection , for the light and dark can only be done with color…and how much paint he made is a wonder to me , all of it a marvel, the human form seems so simple to him , how the bodies look wet..,..
Anybody know who the boy with the big hat was who appears in 14:47 - he appears in so many of Sorolla's works that he must have been a regular model. His sister also appears fairly often. This would have been about 1900 or 1901 in Vencia Spain.
En España no es un pintor menor. Es más, se le suele considerar un auténtico genio, a la altura de Velázquez. Échale un ojo a Mariano Fortuny o a Madrazo, algo menos conocidos y también muy buenos!
music is absolutely perfect. a slightly spanish and orientalist wave appreciating the images. compare this to the disco that most anyone else uses. it's a music which lets the music breathe. imagine, instead, the goyescas, how they'd compete with the images instead of accompanying them.
Velazquez, Monet and Sorolla are the true masters of light....thank you for this beautiful and inspiring video.

You may never see the likes of these paintings ever again.
AND you need to see these in person. Live. THEN you can say you saw these wonderful works.
A great artist who combined romantically and contemporary painting techniques and styles.
I like the texture of the painting. The touch of the painter's clean brush is felt and refreshing
As an artist studying the effects of light, this collection in HD is very helpful.
He makes the beaches of Spain in 1900 come to life.
It makes me sad to see such a world no longer present -
it was such a beautiful age.

A luz como energia dos sentidos - um caso único. Genial. Talvez também José MALHOA e HAMMERSHOI o tenham conseguido? Obrigado.

Nadie como Sorolla para pintar el mar, al mirar parecía que las olas tuvieran vida
Mucho superior a Picasso. Sorolla es el mejor.
Bravissimo
