Thanks for this video that shows how to take the machine apart and then put it back together as well as how to lubricate it. I see that you figured out that the switch was for switching back and forth between flat knitting (p) aka plain knitting and tube knitting (T). Nice work. Did you also figure out that the purple tab on the carriage that matches the purple row counter is a magnet and should be on or next to the white needle. That way both counters should work together unless she has it spaced over for a specific reason for better results. I hope your wife has been happily knitting. I had one of these as a child which my mother gave me as she had it stored but of course I had it 50 years ago so it was a kids toys but the exact same concept so my 22 needle Sentro is coming in tomorrow, I am excited to try it out and have a new fiber tool. Thanks again!
If you place the set of bumps that face up on the white ring closest to the where the white need starts the counter will begin to work. I also added grease to the counter black wheel.
They're carefully squeezed aside of the pink tensioner together and pull it out. You may get one side before the other and that fine. Just go slow and easy.
The white peg lines up with number 1, great job, that's earned you some points!😄 my Mr fix it won't fix anything! Consequently he doesn't have many points.☹️😄
@steelesky I'm not sure either, but I know my Mr fix it must be deaf from all those crickets that keep churping in his head, but he seems to know his way home so I think I'll keep him for a bit longer.😆😆😆😆
Oh my gosh... you had lost of patience. Im think to get me one of this machine but, I'm not so sure if I get this one, if it's to much trouble to clean it. 🤔😏
I have the sentro knitting machine also. I took it apart and cleaned it bc it started grinding around the crank. Everything went back together easily. And it is still grinding on a few of the pegs around the crank. My husband took it apart and oiled it better put it back together and stii grinds. Any suggestions?
Read the instructions about the panel and tube switch. It will only go a certain distance if you have the panel switch up. Push down to the tube setting.
I took my 48 apart reoil it started off fine than still kept grinding what I found is when it’s apart and you turn the handle it work great no grinding what I found it’s doing is the crank wheel slipping off the black teeth on the carousel that holds the pins making the crank grind don’t know how to fix that
You had the panel switch up and it only goes one way till the stop then it goes in reverse, Switch down is circular. You obviously didn't know how the thing works.
@@julienurse8387, these contraptions aren’t made for durability. I ordered a digital counter and besides the very limited installation instructions, I can’t get it to work. The counter on the machine never worked and I even exchanged a few because of it. Everything’s made in 🇨🇳

Have you the P for PANEL OR T FOR TUBE. PANEL GOES AROUND . AND AROUND. TUBE GOES AROUND AND STOPS, THEN YOU TURN BACK. KNITTING NOT JOINED. ?? IF YOU HAVE IT AT PANEL THEN DON'T PUT PRESSURE ON IT. ALL THE SCREWS ARE NOT TIGHTENED TOO MUCH !!!

When you open it up, check to see if any of the black teeth are broken off.
None of the teeth were broken and the boyfriend was the one that cleaned everything up for me.
My Machine Did the same thing, Just to find the Handles Roller thingy teeth , some has broken off
T is for tube knitting---circular. P is for panel knitting---back and forth---so it stops for you to reverse cranking.

I've had mine for 8 months. It cranks smoothly until I get around 70 rounds and the crank handle pops loudly and doesn't turn. 😢

He does not deal with that except to clean it.
He had no idea because he didn't ask me. He just took it out there to clean everything out for me.
He may not have, but when I took mine apart the first time mine would not work regardless of where the switch was.
