Thanks for watching! I'd love to hear from you- why do you think people detox from social media, love it- then go back? Listen to my show on Spotify here: open.spotify.com/show/7Ga5f5hFW6nUByOeM5ezJC Listen on Apple Podcasts here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/taking-life-offline/id1702574337
Hi im 2 years an active content creator on tiktok and i always wanted to stop wasting my time on social media always seeking validation and recognition ect thank you for doing what you doing you are saving lives for time is a very precious commodity peace and love
One reason why people return to social media is because they haven’t figured out how to use their time without it. Quitting social media is not the end of this process. We need to figure out who we are outside of it - what makes us happy, what motivates us, what our hobbies are, who do we really want to socialize with even without social media, etc.
I've done 1 & 2 month detoxes. My next goal is to do a 3 month detox(starting in March) with the mindset you mentioned of seeing what life really can be without Instagram. I've already completed your checklist so when i return in June i'll spend two weeks back on before i delete PERMANENTLY on my birthday. I'll be 35 this year and i told myself years ago i didn't wanna be in my 40's still on social media. 35 just feels like the right time to walk away....
I can't wait to hear how this next detox goes for you with the mindset shift, please keep me posted! I'm glad you got the checklist and love the plan to delete on your birthday, what a great gift to yourself. 35 will be the start of a new chapter for you, offline! 🙌
i came over from Spotify to say how good this is . . . such a simple mindset shift. now that i think about it, if you take the first 30/60 mins of the day without your phone, that's a mini detox! how are we feeling during that time? it's the same concept but a smaller scale. also, i appreciate you touching on using SM for business/work. i like making content but it's the scrolling/comparison/tying my self-worth to it is not okay with me. but this is great. thank you, as always, Carly!!
Thank you for coming and sharing your thoughts! I'm glad you enjoyed this episode, and I love the smaller scale you brought up about the 30-60 minutes. It's so true!
@@carlyburrYour Welcome ! I’ve went through everything you were explaining. I left the false world of media in 2011. I enjoy seeing others taking the time to see what it does to you individually. Keep inspiring others to be normal. ✨✨
Yes I have a smartphone I use the iPhone, I would love a light phone but have a hard time parting from my camera for snapping quick shots of my little girls growing up!
I mean at say with Facebook it’s easy too create a fake profile pretending too be somebody you’re not just too see how it feels too be liked and appreciated. Bad thing bout that is the person behind the screen won’t know who they talking all they see is a picture with words like a guy can pretend too be a woman on Facebook just too have women comment on their posts, I heard about that a few years back as I was listening to this video couldn’t help hut to think about what I heard a few years back.

Any advice for people that have to use the platforms for business?
I made a video touching on this, you can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/yavvDphVknA/w-d-xo.html

Where did you meet your husband without social media
I met my husband in High School! I'm disconnected from the dating world but always believe there's another way.
@@carlyburr I believe there’s another way 🙌😁
