been meaning to make an amv out of this as soon as it was announced, and even though it took nearly a year for the subbed version to release, it was well worth the wait!! i actually have another song in mind (even though i haven't been spoiled abt the plot yet lol), but then 'weathering with you' was MIRACULOUSLY RELEASED HERE ABOUT A MONTH AFTER JAPAN'S RELEASE, CANT YOU BELIEVE????? So naturally i fell in love with its music as well (addicted even), and then here we are~
Now this just proves that no matter how many fandoms i get sucked into, osomatsu-san will always have a special place on mein heartu~~ They're the reason i found my interest on video editing and even start this mess of a channel, and i'm eternally thankful for their existence~ Tbh I'm getting back on this currently-scarce fandom rn, plus i got a year-old on-hold season 2 amv sitting around my files, so might as well polish that when i have the time again? not sure tho huhu :,)

this movie really has three good message: (1) don't regret the things you could not change anymore (past), (2) but be ashamed if you can improve something into better but chooses not (present). Don't be afraid of changes, it is part of growing up (future). (just my opinion)
that's a lesson i've been hearing for a long time which I only truly understand since the pandemic.
i actually draw stuff and make art since i found out that it's my calling (video editing's my 2nd hobby). i've been praised for it throughout my childhood, so i felt that i don't need to make much of an effort so i can make good drawings. then came the internet where i'm surrounded by these really REALLY talented artists. i felt overwhelmed and extremely jealous that i couldn't catch up fast with these art gods and goddesses, so i stopped drawing. i even have years worth of free time (i'm sorta homeschooled) which i could have used to improve my art, yet i chose to waste it through self-loathing.
when the pandemic aka the thought that we're all gonna die looms nearer than ever, i realized that all this time i forgot the raw passion i felt when i was starting out. i realized that wallowing myself in petty misery isn't going to grant me the powers i desperately wish for. instead i should actually make a HUGE effort to sharpen the powers i already have so i can create the drawings and comics of my dreams and be proud of it.
i'm yet to fill my new sketchbook with this enlightened mindset of mine due to my injured hand, so for the meantime i indulge myself in youtube tutorials and instructional books/pdfs. i can't wait for the day when i'm able to freely doodle again like the good old days.
my point being is... i regret a lot of things, mainly wasting SO MUCH time i could have spent on improving my art instead of being emo. i could waste another decade hating myself for not taking advantage of my past free times, but i've had enough of that. the only way i can make it up for lost time is to learn from my mistakes, which will aid me on moving forward to better myself. our mistakes make up a part of our own constellation, and i find comfort from that metaphor.
sorry for the sudden block of text!! i had to let out my recent epiphany as soon as i saw the comment so i can really process it this time ahaha ;^^
but yes, this movie also really moved me, but the lesson i gained more from it is that no matter how much life seems to hate you, there will always be someone who cares for you/thinks you're cute

Near the ending reminds me of my mother's death that I became emotional and tearing up. Though I miss her, thanks for the memories. She was on her death bed that caused the tears to form from memories, though as I said. . . Thank you again.
i'm so sorry for your loss. it must be so hard to keep remembering your mother like that. but i'm so glad this video reached your heart that made you remember of the memories you shared with her ❤
i also lost someone dear to me this valentine's day, which was my grandmother. her birthday was on the same date i uploaded this video, which now feels more emotional to rewatch for me now that i think of her too whenever i remember this vid i made.
i hope both of our loved ones is in a better place now, wherever that is. let's stay strong for them too, i'm sure that's what they want to see from us no matter where they are 😊

I know this question is really unrelated, but is osomatsu san still popular? I just recently started watching it back in like September. I really like it and it would make me really sad to know that no one watches it anymore even if it’s amazing.
honey bunchkins, im gonna be frank here: everyone just starts on hating the new season since episode 3, probably cause they're all growing up from butt jokes or that they don't want to associate themselves with something that's meant to be "shitty" as ososmatsu-san anymore.
i was actually just browsing season 1 old fanarts yesterday and got rly sad that this year the (western) fandom isn't as brimming with content as the past seasons. 😥
but you know, we can still be one of the few og fans who still likes the new one. we may be attacked with pitch forks and torches by the rest, but at least we still have a coping mechanism this apocalypse thru even the same old shitty thing. 😀

Did she died? They didn’t caption in the movie if she was in a hospital or something. And I don’t want to assume she is alive or not :((.
Another thing is that, i strongly believe season 3 will happen. The openings are so related to the Matsuno brothers. At least two more openings so in total there are 6 openings about each brother :,).
She most likely did, but to this day we still don't know if it's entirely true (unless there's an official untranslated statement about it somewhere).
Six seasons sounds about right! This anime's basically the studio's breadwinner and to an extent it even took over japan. They can't just simply abandon it lmao xD

Having watched 'weathering with you', I visualize it as two best friends who are both struggling not only their own problems, but also cheering up the other, who keeps 'pushing the other away' or something like that, but your interpretation's also valid!!
And ikr?? Such a heartwarming song~ My first song choice is actually 'grand escape' (and 'long hope philia' too way back), but i still don't know its full english lyrics that time. 'Sides I was too excited to start editing again too, so I picked this as soon as I finished reading its lyrics. Ty for thinking it's a good choice~ ^^
