The 808 is not remotely transparent but it pushes the mid's and slightly cuts the lows which hits the amp harder and gives it a more aggressive punch. I love it with the volume high and the gain fairly low.
I mean I use the od808 in front of everything. It does sound better to me than other od and tube screamer type pedals so I understand why so many ppl like it. At least for metal
@Ivan Salcido We just mean to adjust the tone knob to where you personally like it and where it works for what you're trying to achieve. The Tone setting really depends on the guitar/amp/ears.
Kens eclipse is in E Std. But on their 7 strings they used to tune to std, but lately theyve been in drop b which on a 7 string is: B, F#, B, E, A, C#, F#
What tuning are they using for their 7 strings? based on his hand position when he was doing the main riff to that song it looks like drop B. And if they are playing in drop B then what is the high E string tuned too?

He means it doesn't add any coloration to the tone unless you make it.

I believe Ken is a "Salem Witch Trial" guy - setting the Drive almost off and the Level almost all the way up, with Tone set to taste...

Ross Cloughley no its The G Tunes up a full step to A. Everything except the low B is tuned up a whole step.
But drop b on a 6 string is b,F#,B,E,G, c#
And isn't E to F# a half step?
