      Hi John:)
      I really resonated with what you said about how the goal isn't to be Japanese, but to enrich the Japanese culture by sharing your own culture with Japanese people. It reminds me of how I believe that the goal of learning a language is not to become a native speaker, but to be good enough to share yourself with people who speak that language, and allow them to share themselves with you. That's what I tell my students (I'm a Japanese and Korean teacher in Australia). Thanks for the nice live stream ☺️

    Yes, the What´s Inside-Family are really nice peoples. And I found your channel on their Japan vacation channel.
    Watch them for a year or that time around. And I would decide to stay here, too..It´s good stuff and something new to learn about Japan itself, the culture and so on.. Its really fascinating me since a long, long time.

    Congratulations John on your marriage and new life! I have to apologize since my wife and I have been watching you for quite a while now...but usually via our ROKU and not a computer so we can't participate in the chats or comments. We have enjoyed every one of your videos and am very happy to hear that you will continue making more.
    Regards to you and your (I'm sure) lovely wife....We're all very excited to meet her whenever that happens!

    John, your channels are by a large margin, my favorites on you tube. Keep doing content about food and food history. I am a cook and burgeoning chef, who in lust with Japan. Also, the history of Japan's Kei cars, sports cars & auto manufacturers, because I am a Japanese sports car history nut. John, I wish there were more folks like you out there.

    You are both so fortunate to have met, fell in love, and marry. A large part of the charm of your livestream is your steam of consciousness filled with fun facts about Japan. If everyone insists on having your wife be included in your videos, I would suggest that likewise you put on tights and a tutu and dance in a performance of Swan Lake like she does.

    ジョンさん, as a Japanese guy, I have to say that this is absolutely an act that the konbini dislikes but, even if you want to throw your garbage into a konbini trash box, you should buy something from the konbini to thank them at least. The trash box is a "free" service from the store that assumed "their customers" who bought food at the store and wants to eat immediately in front of the store. The same is true for trash boxes placed beside drink/food vending machines in the street. You should consider who is paying the cost of its garbage disposal. (If you take garbage home and throw it away at your home, you pay for that cost in the way called the ward tax, of course.) And you shouldn't say that to use konbini trash boxes "without" the idea/background/supplementary explanation via the net (in English).

    Can I ask what the facilities like in Japan for disabled people....?.

    • @nishinasuno
      @nishinasuno 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Buses and trains are equipped for the disabled. All buildings have wheelchair access. There are restrooms for the disabled. Back to the buses they are no steep. Which means they tilt down for easier access. When getting on the train if you're in a wheelchair an employee will accompany you to the spot where you'll enter the train and provide a ramp. There are priority seats on trains and buses for the disabled and are clearly marked in English.

      I heard Japan has welfare system but eligible people usually don't apply because of pride. Last time we saw an old man with crappy clothes and a big bag was trying to make a call at the phone booth at Osaka subway station. He didn't have enough changes to make a call. It was cold but he was walking around with a big bag like nowhere to go. I am a county welfare worker. The scene was striking my heart.
