The time the light of the sun would take to reach earth would be 140.000.000 km / 300 km = about 500.000 or 125 minutes where in reality it takes 7 minutes. Multiply by 1000 for your proposed 300 meters per second.

it's 3 *10^8 meters per second, (300 million meters per sec) not 300km/sec
