    We had an exchange student from the US here a few years ago who wanted to go really fast on the Autobahn for once. We took him in a car that really does go 300 and drove to a good stretch where you can go that fast.
    The scene was very similar to your clip. Until 180 he was quite happy, at 230 he said it really was enough, beyond 250 he was begging for mercy...
    I don't think he wet himself, but sure came close...
    Not that we were "used to" driving that fast either, but we didn't let that show.. ;)

    • @stuborn-complaining-german
      @stuborn-complaining-german ปีที่แล้ว +89

      Yes, all the fastest conventional high speed trains (TGV, ICE, Shinkansen,...) have a maximum speed of around 320 km/h in regular operation. They can only go that fast on sections of the tracks rated for such speeds, so the limit is actually the tracks. The trains themselves could go way faster.
      The current speed record is held by the french TGV at 574.8 km/h, that's about 357 mph !!!
      So if you want to go really fast while relaxing and looking out the window... take the train!

I did only once but this police officer actually cared about me, I could tell. He was being very friendly and just made it obvious that he seriously wanted to help me.

    My Austrian wife taught me to walk more and stop spending on taxis or gas. But the hiking part really blew my mind, they really love their hikes hahaha. I'm always like fuck that, i adapted enough, don't use taxis or cars anymore, but you can go on the hike without me hahaha. I still do most of the hikes at the end, but it's fascinating to me how common it is here. Nothing wrong with enjoying hikes, I was just surprised of how common it is. It's not a niche thing, it's a shit on of people that do it.
    To be fair, there are several outdoor activities where I come from that are not common here but very common there, so it's kinda the same thing.

    My dad was stationed in Germany from 1965 to 1967. I was 5, 6, and 7 years old while there. One day, I was twirling around in a little "whirlwind" next to the army post fence as little pieces of trash were lifted in the air by it. I watched a piece of trash flutter over the fence and land on the ground and then a little old German lady with a little "spear" stabbed it up and put it in a bag she was using to collect the trash along her side of the fence. That left a lifelong impression on me - don't litter. The shoulders of the roads over there at that time were spotless.

    I'm from Nick Alfieri's hometown of Portland, Oregon, U.S.A., where nobody puts catsup or hot sauce or ranch-style salad dressing on a pasta and beef stroganoff dish! We put creamy sauce on it similar to Hollandaise sauce for filet mignon.
    "Hamburger Helper: Stroganoff" is a cheap brand of pasta with a sauce packet of pale creamy sauce similar to Hollandaise sauce that comes in a box to be mixed with fresh ground beef.
    Many Oregonians make "Hamburger Helper: Stroganoff" if they are in a hurry or lazy or broke.
    Nick is a bachelor, so he doesn't know how to properly take care of himself.
    Other women from his hometown like myself would also laugh at the way he eats.
