I think they both fit him really well! But I totally understand them not being able to get Norman Reedus back 😂 he's a big actor to have on board and probably the biggest they'll ever have. I think Edward's voice is perfect for Striker - he's able to make him sound dark and intimidating while also throwing in some humor with it lol
@@EavanEllisPrincessEavan it’s honestly too early to say for sure but yes, Norman was too busy filming for another project along with some other things, Edward confirmed it on his Twitter that that’s the only reason why he took over voicing him. It was sorta hinted by Viv (also on Twitter) that Ed would come back to voice Striker again but tbh I’m hopeful that he will come back. (I would give anything to hear Striker’s little scoff laugh again lmao)
Edward does a great job progressing Norman’s personality of Striker, but the thing that makes it feel different is not necessarily the voice change, but the writing of Striker in this episode. Him swearing out the singing bandits and just acting comically cynical felt so out-of-character to me. The first time we saw him, he was mysteriously calm and charming, with a low rasp that let the audience know he was up to something. Thankfully this Striker comes back when he’s torturing Stolas, but just the beginning and the “huge ween” gag with the statue felt so out-of-pocket.
@@aydentolive71 Sure, it’s fair to say that we only know Striker based on 2 episodes so far, but what I’m saying is that how he’s written in those two episodes is *very* inconsistent. This isn’t to say that Striker is a poor character, no! I love Striker and he’s one of my top 3, but I can’t deny the huge inconsistencies in how he acts and behaves in the two episodes we saw him in.
Exactly how I thought. Striker was basically the only other villain who was dangerous. Him and Crim are great villains by being so intimating and powerful, proven by the fact those two are the only ones who actually hurt anyone.
Norman gave Striker more of a natural growl when talking when comparing the 2 but kind of flat toned otherwise. However, Ed sounded more expressive with frustration and leaned heavier into the southern/cowboy accent. Both were great for the character.
True! Norman’s voice sounded/felt more smooth and silky while Edward’s sounds more rough and more like Striker is from down south like from Texas or somehing
They used alot more Hissing and rattle sounds in Normans Performance, what makes it even more intimidating and awesome in my mind for Striker, it fits him so well, thats why i miss Normans Voice even more in this. Dont get me wrong, his new voice is good, but still i like Normans way more for Striker.
Personally I think Norman’s is better, giving a good snake like feeling to it, however Edward does pretty good and if he was going for a less gravely voice with a slight bit more venom to it, I think it be perfect. It sounds like Edward is trying a bit to hard. For an example of what I like use the “I’m in the middle of killing him” line for example, and use the more gravely voice for his annoyance or anger
Yes. Norman makes Striker sound so more menacing, slick, mysterious, and dangerous. However, I really like Edward’s voice too, because I barely spotted a difference. The only difference I saw with Striker’s character as a whole was his writing in the episode, because he’s made fun of by the episode and is made comically egotistical. But now that you pointed it out, it does sound like Edward is going a bit too hard on the lines. Great point!
I think Bosco's voice works better for what they want striker to be now. Like, if they kept them as the cool, calm cowboy then yeah, Norman's would probably be better 😅
Idk why but I just now noticed a difference between the two. Edward did such a fantastic job that I didn’t even notice on my first viewing. Norman will be missed but Striker is in good hands.
My same thought. I had no idea until people mentioned it. Boscos is just so close. I guess maybe Normans is slightly higher voice? Both have the cow boy low gravel voice done though.

@@electrobob992 "That's Blitz for you, same voice actor…" uh, no? Blitzø is voiced by Brandon Rogers, Striker has been voiced by Norman Reedus and Edward Bosco.
I give Edward credit that he does pretty good job impersonate Norman. Norman have this raspy growl with how he talk, while Edward has this husky snarl and both fit Striker pretty well. I didn’t hear much of a difference if it weren’t for the almost obvious tone of pitch with Norman being more lighter than Edward and you can hear at times. Regardless, I think Edward did Norman proud for how he still have his own take while still honoring Norman’s impression of Striker. Hell, I think Edward base his voice close to Norman’s final voice deliver with how eerily similar they sound together when making the character seriously threatening.
Why is His Voice so HOT!? LIKE WTF!? Tbh tho I like Norman's voice better in my opinion it sounds more Cowboyish and deep which I think fits him well but I also like Edwards as well they both did a good job.😁

I really liked Norman's voice better, and I noticed it immediately. I just feel like his gravely soft voice worked better and felt more chilling, sexy and intimidating. Idk. Just my opinion. It was hard for me with Bosco playing him.
honestly, both voices fit striker very well, but each actually fits the situation striker is in at the moment Norman's smoother, slicker voice fits him while he feels confident and has the upper hand, but Edward's voice fits his more angry and desperate overall tone in his second appearance
Strangely I like Edward’s voice for striker better, it feels more intimidating and western. I think the major problem relies not on the voice change but the writing of the character in this episode
I like Norman more because he sounded way more menacing and sexy at the same time lol. However, I can get used to Edward’s performance as well. Still can’t help but miss Norman though because he really got me into liking Striker more.
Right when Striker talked, I knew his voice was different. I even told my boyfriend about it because we were watching the new episode, he noticed as well but we figured it was different since Norman is doing other shows. We both like it:)
Sad Norman most likely won't come back since the TWD Dixon spinoff is pretty important but I hope he at least considers it in between seasons.. glad Bosco is taking the mantle
While I like both and would be perfectly happy with either playing the role, the most important factor for me is consistency. As in, at this point if we get Bosco for the next couple episodes, it would actually feel weird for Reedus to return randomly just because he has a break in his schedule.
I thought there was a different voice actor. My boyfriend and I were watching and I was like. "That's a different voice actor." And he was like. "No it's not." "I'm pretty sure that is. It sounds deeper then his previous." And then we watched the credits and I was like. "Boom! Different voice actor"
They're just similar enough to emphasize the differences. Edward is fine in isolation. Unfortunately, Norman was just too good, so anyone but him would be noticeable.
I noticed the difference instantly, I do miss Norman but Ed kicked serious ass. This striker seems more scary and I like that, and the delivery on this line 4:02 was fucking perfect
I think Edward did great, for me personally what made his character feel off was the fact that Striker was such an intimidating character when he first got introduced and I was anticipating that but I feel like was too much of a joke and when things finally got serious the impact was meh and the B plot of Luna getting a shot did not help. With all that and the fact he got a new voice actor, he just didn’t deliver (the portrayal of character not voice actor)
I like Edwards voice a little more. it sounds a bit more deep. it fits Striker a little better. sounds more intimidating. Norman did a great job, and the voice was good, but I gotta give it to Edward as a favorite.
Funniest part- While I knew the actor changed in a heartbeat, I only knew it was Ed until he began screaming at the little guys singing his theme song lolol Him screaming a bunch during Hunicast gave him away so quickly lolol
my person opinion is that norman helps build striker up to be more intimidating and helps the whole “ cowboy “ ascetic that he gives off :) norman did amazing though of course . i like both voices , so overall no complaints
His voice sounds similar to his debut, but it's like his voice got deeper, I for one couldn't tell at first that his voice changed, except the fact it got deeper, but that's all I noticed. **(Oh and he has a little more of a western accent in the new episode)**
I prefer Norman but Edward def did a great job, I didn't even notice till this video that they were different and I've watched it twice. Striker is in good hands for sure though :)
while I do think Norman was way better at sounding intimidating af, which is important for Striker's character, Edwards voice in general works better for Strikers design and demeanor, minus the intimidation. But with the right background music and visual affects, the intimidation can occur, it just isn't constant.
Love both of them. Although I think my opinion is a bit skewed as I didn’t love the most recent Striker episode, but I’m excited to see Edward’s version again next time we see Striker.
the different voices suit the theme of the episode imo they introduce striker as a super mysterious and genuinely dominating threat with norman readus' deep gravelly voice, then they have a more comfortable and confident version with edward bosco for a more lighthearted and jokey episode where its more focussed on striker, rather than him being in the background. tbh i found the newest episode's tone was all over the place, but edward by himself did a really good job, both of them were amazing ofc
Imo I really like both but I think his new voice actor suits him REALLY well! I have no complaints since they sound almost the same Honestly didn't notice at first
*person:* so who is ur fav Helluva Boss character? *me:* -if i say Striker and am either going to get bullied, made fun of, or feared- ...Millie 😶 *striker:* 😦🤬🖕
Both did absolutely amazing, and while I understand not being able to get Norman back, I liked his just a tad better. Could possibly be the writing for him in the new episode holding back the new voice for me, plus just getting used to hearing a new voice, like we did for Millie and Stolas. Either way, Ed did an amazing job.
Now that they’re side by side like this I can definitely hear the difference but nevertheless still an amazing performance from both 😭🤚🏻💕✨ I didn’t even notice at first lol
I prefer Ed’s version, though both are great. Ed gives him a nice raspiness, a stronger Southern accent, and a deeper voice which suits the character well. I hope Ed voices Striker in his next appearance.
i noticed that with boscos voice they even improved strikers expressions, like reedus had only an evil grin smile cuz he had to keep up appearances with millies family but boscos has other faces like angry faces and other perspectives on his head shape as reedus only had striker looking to the side all the time
Personally I've always liked Edward's performance more than Norman's _(Thought the voice sounded better)_ The only problem with it was the writing, as it made him seem less scary/intimidating due to trying to be comedic. Just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in _:)_
I didn’t even notice he had a new va, though I did take note that I really enjoyed his voice in the new episode and wondered if it had always been that good. Edward did an amazing job, I think his voice fits Striker the best overall.

Oh heck yeah!
while I do think Norman was way better at sounding intimidating af, which is important for Striker's character, Edwards voice in general works better for Strikers design and demeanor, minus the intimidation. But with the right background music and visual affects, the intimidation can occur, it just isn't constant.
I love how he says shut the fuck up lol
Striker's voice from both voice actors is really cool! I can't help but be impressed and terrified of Striker at the same time!🤩😅🤠😈
Love both of them. Although I think my opinion is a bit skewed as I didn’t love the most recent Striker episode, but I’m excited to see Edward’s version again next time we see Striker.
Yup I totally caught that va change when I watched the new episode but it wasn’t bad tho. I’d be fine if this was the permanent va for striker.
the different voices suit the theme of the episode imo
they introduce striker as a super mysterious and genuinely dominating threat with norman readus' deep gravelly voice, then they have a more comfortable and confident version with edward bosco for a more lighthearted and jokey episode where its more focussed on striker, rather than him being in the background. tbh i found the newest episode's tone was all over the place, but edward by himself did a really good job, both of them were amazing ofc
So COOL! Both of the voices are awesome! :)
If I had to pick, then I'd have to say I prefer the first voice, it kinda suits him better
i know in the second he was supposed to be intimidating but he just made me sweat bullets and i think i discovered something new about myself
Hearing them right next to each other-HOLY SHIT THAT’S SUCH A GOOD VOICE MATCH.
I _DO_ kinda like how "harder..." as a response to getting choked is a running joke in these shows
1:51 man, that "pathetic"😳
The new voice actor's new voice is beautiful, acceptable ❤️
New voice actor fits him way better idc
I just found out why i liked striker so much when he first appeared. . ITS CAUSE NORMAN VOICED HIM AND OML
i couldnt tell... i liked both
Imo I really like both but I think his new voice actor suits him REALLY well! I have no complaints since they sound almost the same
Honestly didn't notice at first
*person:* so who is ur fav Helluva Boss character?
*me:* -if i say Striker and am either going to get bullied, made fun of, or feared-
...Millie 😶
*striker:* 😦🤬🖕
i prefer edward tbh, i like the deepness to his voice and his tone
I like new voice so much more!!
I think Ed does a good job and i’m okay with the change, but I like Normans performance the best
Now that they’re side by side like this I can definitely hear the difference but nevertheless still an amazing performance from both 😭🤚🏻💕✨
I didn’t even notice at first lol
He's hot.
IKRRRRR
Thats why he sounds different :0
if ed did his striker voice a few octaves higher then i wouldnt have noticed a difference at all, bravo to both VAs tho
I prefer Ed’s version, though both are great. Ed gives him a nice raspiness, a stronger Southern accent, and a deeper voice which suits the character well. I hope Ed voices Striker in his next appearance.
i noticed that with boscos voice they even improved strikers expressions, like reedus had only an evil grin smile cuz he had to keep up appearances with millies family but boscos has other faces like angry faces and other perspectives on his head shape as reedus only had striker looking to the side all the time
They both nailed it
him saying thats a damn shame makes me so happy because my mom is southern and she always says that
Never knew Striker could be this hot and intimidating
(Quite the thriller huh?)
Edit: His life must’ve been hard a bit
ur so real for sayung that
Personally I've always liked Edward's performance more than Norman's _(Thought the voice sounded better)_
The only problem with it was the writing, as it made him seem less scary/intimidating due to trying to be comedic.
Just thought i'd throw my 2 cents in _:)_
i absolutely love western energy stiker😭
I knew his voice sounded different from before
6:44 “uuugh~ harder~ 😩” -Moxxie
Man both Norman and Edward were great as Striker!
I didn’t even notice he had a new va, though I did take note that I really enjoyed his voice in the new episode and wondered if it had always been that good. Edward did an amazing job, I think his voice fits Striker the best overall.
