Petey & I visit Bodega Bay, California, the place where the famous Alfred Hitchcock film "The Birds" was filmed. Petey runs around all the incredible beaches and we walk around Bodega Head.

Petey just steals the show the way he zooms around the beach with his tiny legs. He also looks like a puppy.....sooooo adorable!! Nice camping spot and the beach area is beautiful!

Can you explain how you go about 1) finding these places? Do you use the internet or have local knowledge or word of mouth? 2)How do you educate yourself about the history. I've been impressed with your knowledge especially the videos concerning geological sites/rock structure ( ie Painted Hills, Oregon). Trying to prepare for my trip West this summer.
I took my family from SC there back in 2002 on a road trip down the coast
and made a stop there purposely because of the movie. It is a beautiful area. I was not aware of the proposed power plant which would have ruined such a scenic area. Thanks for the travel videos. I love watching and keeping up with the two of you. Be safe

I saw a promo for your channel from Beachcriicket on her birthday TH-cam. I love your videos though a couple put tears in my eyes, when the camper frame broke and your car got stolen. Your travels are magnificent with breathtaking beauty. Oh than there's that sweet Petey what can an animal lover say❤ I will be going full time in June in my 19' TT . So bittersweet to be back at Doran Beach in Bodega Bay. We moved to Tucson from Sonoma County (Monte Rio/Russian River ) two years ago. You know, they filmed “Phenomenon” not far from the town of Bodega. We used to go park up at Bodega Head and watch for whales.
Forgot to say how much I loved watching Mr. Petey running his little legs off. He was so happy.
Beautiful scenery the bay too :) . I may be headed that way this summer from Florida. I have 13 foot fiberglass trailer called a Play Mor. Excellent film locations of the The Birds.
that's the first scarey movie I saw as a kid ... back in the late 60s, and still freaks me out. but, I love birds!

What is it about dogs and beaches? I don't know of a dog that doesn't suddenly get filled with energy when and happiness when it gets on a beach. Must be something in the sand. :)
What a lovely video. I lived in Santa Barbara for about 15 years, and never thought to go up there to check out the locations for the scariest movie of my wayward youth. I guess I'm going to have to make a road trip from here in the mountains above LA!

Just to clarify, the town on the coast is Bodega Bay. "The Birds" was filmed in the town of Bodega, about 5 miles inland from Bodega Bay. There are lots of guide books that seem to think they are one in the same, and they're not. I've seen confused tourists trying to find the Potter School while in Bodega Bay.
I love the movie the birds I've also not seen it in years but it's a great movie!

Bex Cat-herder since your camper issue, have you considered painted the frame of your camper to prevent rust?
You can buy any metal frame acrylic paint, or rust preventative stuff and paint it yourself.

Watching Mr. Petey cavort is therapeutic to me - I could put just about any footage of him in a loop and never stop chuckling aloud.

+Mary Etie Hi Mary! I have considered a van but I really like setting up home in one place for several days at a time. If I had a van, I would have to pick everything up every day to go for a hike. Then set up my home again when I returned. With a trailer, I can set up house, and it's there when I return every night. Thanks so much for subscribing! :-)

Oh, I don't have such a video. Others have asked about "my story" too, but I'm not sure it would be very interesting. Perhaps I could mix it in with something far more interesting so people could skip the boring part? ;-)

Thank you for the up load .. I saw the Birds when it came out , with my family.. I think I was around 12... My bedroom had 3 windows from the floor to the ceiling.. I ended up sleeping under my parents bed on the floor..

Yes, be mindful of wasps. Unlike bees that die after they lose their stinger, wasps retain theirs and can sting you multiple times. Ouch!

Have you been to Samuel P Taylor State Park? What a great place. I noticed on your list of liked videos the Resolve 12.5 tutorial and also that there is no fish effect in your videos. Are you as serious as it might seem about video production?
Oh, I have not been to that state park! But I just looked it up and it looks wonderful. I'll definitely be putting it on my list. I have been playing with Resolve and want to make the best videos that I can. I'm not sure I'm as serious as some others, but definitely more serious than many! ;-)
