Excellent, Jim. I figured that storm would feature in your upcoming videos! You provide a “behind the scenes” look many of us never get to see! Thanks - and keep them coming.
I used to plow parking lots and driveways and I always wished for a big snowstorm.....until the big snowstorm came. It's really satisfying getting everything opened up in a big storm though. Thanks for the video!
Just found ur channel im from Sydney Cape Breton we run a transmission/ towing shop down here and we do lots of work for dot thanks for the great video and keep up the great work plowing and stay safe out there
We just got a brand new Volvo loader…. I haven’t run it yet but it’s fast and hydraulics are fast and powerful. Crazy they had a dozer out, I’ve never seen that much snow ❄️ in person. Blizzard 🥶 of ‘96 was about 3 feet but nothing like in this video. Great 👍 video and editing!!!
Gracias por compartir su trabajo amigo Howie H. Me encantan tus videos! Felicitaciones para todo ese equipo que te acompaño, operadores Rod y Kenny. Comentario desde Partido Dajabón, República Dominicana🏝🏖🏜
I didn't realize that road was going to be that bad until I was too far in and had no wear to get turned around. I felt safe tho knowing I had two loaders to bail me out when the going got tough, lol.
@@JimHowDigsDirt I got 36" on this last one if I lay the yardstick flat on the grass. Predicted 15" actual 2" 1 melted, not even worth warming up the shovel.
The southern areas should be getting prepped for when all that ❄️🌨️ begins to melt. All that 🌊💧 will be going one way. South. Down from the 🏔️. Make plans now. Trenches would help a little for the flow of water. Good luck
That is for sure a risky drive with a 4x2. My boss had a 6 cyl Ford pu & we put a 8”deep sand box between the tail gate & the wheel wells , never got stuck, but he never had to drive on a road that was not yet fully opened .
Why in the world would a county truck in Nova Scotia be two-wheeled drive? I'm from Michigan and know that's crazy! Great operators to watch, can tell they've done this many times.
Another great video. It may be work for you all but it sure looks like a good time to me, as some of you do too. Just a general question, are all the lights in the back of the plows just to be seen?
I know it didn't sound good when I slid into the snowbank, but it never got dented! Built Ford tough, lol. More snow on its way Randy, but I'm not where we will put it all!
I’m amazed on how much viewers are amazed😁
Like the video Jim .you had very much snow .
Yes, thanks
My dream to plow that kind of storm once 🙏🔥 impressive
Those were some of your best videos .
Thank you Donald! I keep trying to do better.
Love your videos. Well done. and big snow...
That’s a healthy amount of snow.
thats some amazing footage
Thanks John!
anytime!

Thanks 👍 More to come!
The V on that loader did a good job of rolling the snow

Same here! With big snow it feels like you are actually doing something. Much more satisfying!
Brings back memories of our country road by a AC grader with V plow and wing and for days afterwards the DOT dozer pushing the banks back.
Just like the good ole days!
Good job to all the highway crews. I was surprised to see so many roads so cleared so soon.
Thank you! We try to do the best we can and appreciate your kind words!
That sure was a lot of snow. Haven’t seen that much since I used to live in NJ I can remember the blizzard of 78 when I was a kid. Great footage!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
We are just south of Digby and feel very fortunate to have missed most of this. Like your channel good resolution on the camera .
Thank you Harald! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Wow. Impressive.
Looks like fun, ehh?
Be safe out there.
Thanks, you too James!
man you you guys had a hell of a storm out there
Yeah it was quite a storm!
You guys sure got hammered.
Yeah, BIG time!
Great video buddy thanks for sharing take care
Thanks, you too!

Love this video was up in Halifax Nova Scotia when in the Navy in 1969
Crazy night...lol
It was a wild storm that's for sure!
Hang on tight, I see you have two more feet coming this week
Looking forward to it! Not sure where we are going to put it tho, lol.
Great video, from gaspe Quebec 💪
Thank you Dillon!

Thanks for the comment! It has been 9 years since we had this much snow! Take care and stay safe!
Неслабо снега подвалило. 👍👍👍
Да, для нас это была сильная метель! Спасибо за просмотр!

¡Gracias mi amigo! Parece que tenemos más nieve en camino esta noche, ¡así que estad atentos para más videos!
You have some good equipment to tackle that job
These two loaders were privately owned and were hired to help out. The guys did a awesome job!
Love the video thanks for sharing! We are supposed to get hit by this tommorow! So excited
Good luck!!
Jim you guys will be on storm clean up for a while.
Take care my friend
Yep, prepping for more starting Tuesday!
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
What ever happened to the old Walters and Oshkoshes they used to widen the roads?
Love watching that v plow work you could of almost used 2 of them plus the straight to clean up
Looks like fun for sure!
That's a mess Jim!! I hope it stops and you get a nice, gradual warm up.
You and me both!
Wow those are almost goat paths. The contractors did great work for the equipment they had. Did you get the Mack unstuck?
Yeah, there were some pretty tight roads but those guys did an awesome job! The Mack was finally towed out on the other shift on Wednesday morning.
Wish we had half that amount in Western NY.
People might think we are crazy, but more snow means more fun, lol.
@@JimHowDigsDirt Yup exactly!
Two wheel drive nervous ride.I ended getting cable chains after getting stuck so many times when I had just the rear wheel drive.
I didn't realize that road was going to be that bad until I was too far in and had no wear to get turned around. I felt safe tho knowing I had two loaders to bail me out when the going got tough, lol.
I run an old International 6 wheeler with a 12' 1 way plow that would love to chew on some heavy snow. We got nothing but a massive amount of rain.
We could have used you for this one! Hope you get some snow soon!
@@JimHowDigsDirt I got 36" on this last one if I lay the yardstick flat on the grass. Predicted 15" actual 2" 1 melted, not even worth warming up the shovel.
Yeah we are having some strange weather lately. From one extreme to another!

Nice work! What tires do you run on the pickup?
I will have to check! I want to know too!

Awesome work too bad I can help you guys with my truck that V plow would be awesome with a wing👍
A vee plow would be awesome!
Funny turn of events. Just found out one of those operators is a buddy of mine.
Great guys to work with!

Cutbacks I guess, lol. The guys did a great job in the loaders!
I survive winter in Ontario in a Mustang, which, is rear 2WD. Driving skills matter.
Nice video you might need a loader with a blower contractor or town!
Another great video. It may be work for you all but it sure looks like a good time to me, as some of you do too. Just a general question, are all the lights in the back of the plows just to be seen?
Yes, light are there for safety so we can be seen in such bad weather.
Wow, hope you don't get more soon Howie, no place to put it . Nice video , thanks
Thanks 👍
Looks like an IT28F that the general used to drive
You must be talking about Lloyd?
Hopefully we don’t see a storm like this this year if we do, I’m moving to Florida for the winter 😂
I love the Mack! It's a very comfortable truck compared to most I've driven in the past!
@ that’s good 👍🏻
Lots of snow we got 160 cm in Cape Breton
Yeah, you guys really got hit hard!
@@JimHowDigsDirt I have 61 subscribers on my channel now it’s been one year ago since I started
Good work Karson! I saw a plow truck drive by your house in your last video.
What brand of tires do you have on that truck
Not sure but I will check it out for you! I kinda like to know myself as I was impressed with their performance
Nice videos. Was the snow wet??
It wasn't at first but turned quite wet after a few days.
so thats where all our snow went
I was wondering what happened to it
We have some for sale if you're interested! lol
@@JimHowDigsDirt would you be willing to throw in free shipping?
Pick up only, lol.
How bad was the dent? With what's coming tomorrow night and a little wind roads will be blocked again..
I know it didn't sound good when I slid into the snowbank, but it never got dented! Built Ford tough, lol. More snow on its way Randy, but I'm not where we will put it all!
To bad that the ones in the porthaswkbury don't fall your cleaning up left 12in of snow on our main road
Hello snowblowers, are you guys home?
They must be home as I didn't see any, lol.
In the video you had a caption that this was Feb 8 2023.. is this a year old?
No, it's from this year on the same date. I blurred it out. Thank you for pointing that out!
Where are the blowers?
Tere were some blowers called in but I think they were working on widening out the paved roads first.
Why wouldn't ya blow that away from the roads you get a big snow and wind you'd be screwed
Yikes!
Fun stuff!
“Global boiling”
I wonder if this snow event could’ve been handled by electric plows
I have my doubts, lol.
I would like to work with you if you accept that I have a valid passport
Get rid of the god awful music, please.
