IN THE WORDS OF BIZ MARKIE : " Damn , it feels good to see people up on it " !
Actually those are Kane's words. He wrote for Biz Markie
That's what we call Quality Hip Hop
I couldn't agree more.
SAY WORD!!!
Kane was gettin' busy with that punchline heavy, battle style in the 80s.. THE 80s... I'm blessed to have witnessed it in real time 💯
I'm blessed to have lived through the 80s. The crap today don't compare!
Man look....Poor Righteous Teachers, X-Clan, Biz Markie, Eric B & Rakim.....I was there when it all happened.
Back then lyrical kings emerged. Tops Were Rakim and Kane, Kool G Rap, Bizmark, and lots more
Man I wish the game would go back to that! BDK COLD! I need to react to more Rakim but the one track I did hear was crazy. Never heard Bizmark (except just a friend) and I didnt know he was lyrical, but I seen the song you left ima add it to the list and check him out! Thank you for tappin in!
Don’t forget Kool Moe Dee
Big Daddy Kane is from Brooklyn, New York, and this is from his debut album, "Long Live The Kane" on Cold Chillin' Records. He was also a member of The Juice Crew which consist of Roxanne Shante, MC Shan, Biz Markie (RIP), and Kool G Rap.
Kane is from Brooklyn, NY. He inspired many rappers from Biggie to Jay-Z. He wrote for Biz Markie and Roxanne Shante.
"Raw" is a must listen!
It’s a classic track.
"Brain cells are lit.
Ideas start to hit.
Next, the formation of words that fit.
At the table I sit, makin' it legit.
And when my pen hits the paper. . . Ahhh shit."
Don't apologize for rewinding 6 of the best bars in hip hop history.
No matter how many times I've heard it, it has the same effect on me now as it did when I first heard it as a 16 year old. 😂
Big Daddy Kane - Warm it up, Kane

Its amazing how well this track held up. I remember that summer ('88) when his debut album dropped smh lol.. shit had the streets on fire 💯
I was a 12 yrs old girl when I fell in love with Big Daddy Kane. Both him and his music. His rhyme flow is compared to none. This is my fav by him because it was so easy to dance to, when this came on we rushed to the dance floor. It was a gym and a school event, but still we went crazy when the DJ played this 😆 I still listen to this on a regular. I miss lyrics and beats like this. Have you done any Eric B & Rakim? You want stories go check out Slick Rick A Childrens Story.
We had to physically rewind tapes back in the day. The emcees like Kane made you go back and listen.
